I had a great experience with New Choices. I'm in the process of getting my driver's license restored after some years of suspension, and substance / alcohol abuse counseling was one of the requirements. I decided to join the group sessions that David holds several times per week and was thoroughly impressed with his level of investment and dedication to his clients. For people in crisis, here is an individual with many years of experience helping people clean up the wreckage they've created in their lives and figure out how to stabilize the crisis and make the changes necessary to get started on a path of recovery. Lewis Gale MC was the best place for me during a crisis 9 months postpartum
I was voluntary and quickly DTO’d due to not being able to articulate I was uncomfortable with the room I was in.
Due to COVID no visitors were allowed, however, hopefully if not ideal patients can at least FaceTime/messenger family
The one time the third floor went outside I don’t recalling grass, I believe it was all pebbles. When I transitioned to the second floor, there was a window in the room and we were able to go to the gym for group. I would hope that on the weekends, the third floor gets to visit the gym, I did not during my stay in 2023. The staff on the third floor, for the exact people, I need in my life to get help at that time. Essentially angels to me.

Amazing service and kind understanding therapists. I've been using horizon for close to 2 years now and have received tremendous care. Scott Bradley, whom I see, never pushes me to follow by the book therapy and allows me to choose my own path. A fantastic listener and patient therapist, he has seen me at my worst and best. I ALWAYS feel encouraged, safe, and cared for when I'm there. I have come a long way thanks to him. It's an okay place though my mom had a bad experience (she requested a female therapist and was given a male one; overall didn't have a good experience and switched her place). I've had an okay one though. the waitlist is HELL though. took a year for autism and ADHD testing and the Dr didn't even do ADHD testing. and I need more testing but insurance + waitlist isn't great right now.
But my therapist is nice though, so no complaints there

The staff at Anderson counciling have done more for me than I can ever express. from the office staff to councilors, and especially the mental health skill builder I work with. Everyone you come in contact with wants to make sure you come out of there feeling better than you did before and 9/10 you do. they really put emphasis on the client. they don't baby you but they treat you with kindness and most of all like your a person not just another number in the system. you are definitely family at Anderson and a place to grow and heal. 10/10 would recommend.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews but I cannot say enough good things about this facility.
I was hesitant to have testing done here due to the negative reviews on Google but I really had no other choice thanks to my limited insurance options.
From my first visit I was treated so kindly and professionally by the front desk staff. I’ve had multiple visits since and everyone has been equally wonderful.
My reason for care was to have testing performed. The testing did not provide me with any conclusive results and I opted to proceed with a brain map test (my choice not forced or coerced by facility). The test was administered by a grad student who was nothing less than sweet and caring and was informative through the process.
After my test I set an appointment to specifically see Dr. Barclay to go over my results. Dr. Barclay was very professional and took his time going over my results (finally got the answers I needed) and addressed all my concerns.
Please don’t let bad Google reviews deter you from giving this place a try. Everyone is unique and has their own experiences; In my case I’m happy I trusted them with my care and will definitely continue to use them for any of my future needs.

The ladies at the front desk always made my visit beyond amazing, they greeted us with a smile, answered every nervous question this mama had to ask. And if they didn't know the answer they made sure to go find that answer! They made me feel like every question I had was very important. The employees in the back took time to speak with me and explian the process for my child. And how things work. The second visit I was so confused and they sat down and explained how it worked and that took so much stress and confusion off my shoulders! Now we are just waiting on the results! Would recommend 10/10 do not read the reviews and not go! Go get your own opinion!

Today was my first visit and it was a pleasant one. Autumn and Christine were very polite and helpful. I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee while filling out my paperwork. Then talked with Autumn and Christine so they could give me a urine screen and then check my vitals before visiting with the computer screen for a few minutes waiting for Dr. Sheri to get to me. The computer freezing up while talking with the doctor was the only thing that didn't run smoothly as far as I could tell. That in itself is pretty amazing considering they were not using their normal offices and reception area due to busted pipes in the rooms above them. I really appreciate that they remained patient, polite and funny while obviously working in a busy stressful situation. Thanks again Autumn, Christine and Dr. Sheri.

I have attended this clinic since it first opened. Throughout the years, it has taught me about "coming clean" with myself & exactly the purpose and perks of MAT. It has honestly saved my life time after time! About a year ago, I was assigned a new counselor, Ms Marilyn Green, and she has been BEYOND GREAT! This subject can be one that either rips loved ones apart or brings them closer together. As I hope for everyone and anyone that people open there minds and hearts up to those who ask for help. We are not bad people just as cancer is a disease so is addiction! I was never warned by my doctor that the medication he was given me would turn my life upside down and when it did my doctor cut me loose. Coming from a family with addiction problems I then knew I had to get help. This treatment center is great compared to others! They help you with EVERYTHING from your addiction to your transportation needs. Be prepared for friends and family to turn their back on you because it will happen. Narrow minded people think this isn’t getting help it’s replacing on addiction with another. If that’s the case then almost everyone in the world are addicts. If you get the flu and take medication for it same thing, you get poison ivy you get medicine for it same thing. Yes I know it’s not 100% exact but hopefully some of you get my point here! Please stop knocking us down when we are doing everything we can to fix the problem. I promise you if you take treatment seriously and friends and family support you and even get involved in your treatment you will find yourself again. You will be a better, stronger and caring person!!!!

I just want to say how great this center is!!! I came from PA to train for my current job and attended this clinic during that time. This clinic has their duck's in a row and some of the friendliest and most helpful ppl I've ever met in my lifetime. Please let the staff know how much they are valued and that they truly make a difference everyday! I wish everyone the best of luck, especially Jacob he is one of a kind 😊. Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.
