It's an okay place though my mom had a bad experience (she requested a female therapist and was given a male one; overall didn't have a good experience and switched her place). I've had an okay one though. the waitlist is HELL though. took a year for autism and ADHD testing and the Dr didn't even do ADHD testing. and I need more testing but insurance + waitlist isn't great right now.
But my therapist is nice though, so no complaints there

I started coming here when I was just 8 years old. Without going into the specifics of my medical history, I’ll simply say this: I’ve been a patient here for 21 years — a very long time. I’ve always appreciated the hands-off approach, which suited me well, as I’ve always been a private, independent person. I’ve been on the same medications since childhood, and for nearly two decades, I was never asked to do lab work — no blood tests, nothing invasive.
The case managers have consistently been the most positive part of my experience. And Dr. Freeben, who saw me from age 8 to 16, was by far my favorite therapist. She understood me, respected my boundaries, and truly cared. After she retired to start a family, I transitioned into adult care — and that’s when things began to change.
Even then, my current therapist — who I’ll soon be parting ways with — didn’t immediately push for blood work. For the first few years, my needle phobia was respected. But once I turned 27, the testing began. Despite being clear about my fear, the policy shifted, and blood tests became routine.
It’s worth noting that I’m not the only one in my family who’s had issues here. My cousin and uncle were both patients, but when cannabis was still illegal, they were given an ultimatum: stop using it, or NRVCS would stop treating them. They both left and started going to the Salem center, which, by all accounts, offered even worse care. It was disappointing then — especially now that cannabis is legal and widely accepted.
Which brings me to the real issue: these blood tests. Officially, they’re to monitor for harmful side effects from medication — and while that sounds reasonable, there’s a quiet second purpose no one wants to admit. These labs are also used to drug test patients. It’s surveillance disguised as care.
And that’s not what I came here for. I did not sign up for surveillance — I signed up for therapy. So I’m done

Today, Region Ten Crisis Unit was the only one to help me. They picked me up and brought me in to see a nurse and doctor. Then, set me up for more help next week! Really a wonderful experience during a crisis for me. It s hard to be positive when abuse is happening, but today Region Ten spent hours deescalating and managing my crisis issues well. It s hard to say: I was raped and in the UVA care unit, I was assaulted by 3 long relationship partners and needed shelter for emergency and care for the physical abuse. Now, my mental health is in crisis after a 7-month roommate situation turned violent. All this past trauma builds up and comes up when new abuse. I was able to get out all the bad, plan for counseling for future mental and physical care. Thank you! Your team even stayed late, and it s nice to know others in crisis can come to you.

I mean like a test that determines if I have titty fat when we ask what it is right after --> I have a 5 and 0 runoff. So we are apexing somewhere else. Also out of the 6 meds that we got refilled the 7th was also not check for refill, just like the crisis center next door. What's good for the gang ... is good for the gang.

I came from Loudoun County, Virginia, the wealthiest county in the United States. NRVCS is LIGHTYEARS beyond what Loudoun County offers. I probably can't even get into much detail, but mostly just, probably the opposite of what most people end up receiving in most other places, from level of care and attention, to excellent, helpful, LOGICAL, respectful, resourceful, dedicated, personalized experts in virtually any social services arena. Amazing, competent, caring and thorough staff, I personally cannot thank this place enough. NRVCS has helped me change my life around in a very efficient matter. They don't do "cookie- cutter" help. They help on so many levels on virtually any issues you could imagine. NRVCS should serve as an example to the entire nation on how to use community resources to ACTUALLY help people. I cannot recommend or thank them enough.

I have been a patient in the hospitals Cancer Clinic since 2012. That ought to say a lot about the staff and what they do. Professional doctors and nurses. Admin staff is superb. When you enter they greet you will a smile and care. I must point out how good the nurses are. They make me feel like I am a family member and care for me appropriately. Those who live in in this area are fortunate to have access to such an excellent facility. I have been an overnight patient in the main hospital too and my experience there was equally superb.

I had some work done on my knee and I was really pleased with every step of the way. The front desk was always sweet and helpful. I got a second opinion from another surgeon at the hospital, which was very helpful and reassuring for me. The surgery day couldn't have gone better. I was irrationally worked up about a lot of things and each nurse / staff was able to provide comfort and reassurance. This place has saved my life. Not just my life but the lives of my daughters as well. Without the staff and my clean sisters here, they wouldn’t have a mother anymore.

Suffolk brightview is awesome. The doctor she is so personalabel and nice and understanding keeps uplifted and always wants to know how your recoveryis going and what exactlycan she do to help and , the counselor Kenny is helpful and nice and listens to you.
