Mount Regis Center is a CARF accredited facility located in Salem, Virginia. They offer substance use treatment for adults aged 18 and older. They also treat co-occurring mental health disorders. So I arrived at Mt.Regis like most others do,tired and confused, angry and feeling guilty, shameful and unworthy. I was seriously damaged inside, and out. All I knew for sure is that I wanted and needed to be, and do better with and for myself and my life. I suffer from PTSD, and I have been through some horrible ordeals in my lifetime. I had been neglectful, and neglected. My thoughts were all scrambled and my thought process was dangerously out of order. While I was in treatment I was treated with so much respect, and understanding that it almost felt surreal to me, especially because of the life I had been living, and the treatment I was being given by all those fake friends, and even some of my family members over the years. The staff at Mt.Regis made me feel welcome, and appreciated. They taught me how to find and collect myself. They gave me all the tools I needed to make a full recovery, and also how to use them. I applied those tools which were coping skills, trigger recognition, accountability, honesty, self recognition, goal setting, boundary setting, changes to my environment and appreciation for my peers who were facing and dealing with the same challenges as myself. By doing so, I found my true self, one known as a nurturer. I was assisted with every aspect of my recovery and treated like a person worthy of a second chance and the respect and understanding that can only be given by true friends, "Family". I say family because that's exactly what I gained during my treatment. I have formed true friendships and bonds that will stand the test of time, and a family that has been supportive of me from day one. I owe My.Regis all the respect and appreciation in the world. They truly saved my life, and I will never be able to repay them for that. I'm now in a step down program, and upon completion of it,and after a few more months of clean and sober living, I hope to return to Mt.Regis as a Recovery Coach.I see that as my way of paying this gift of life forward. I want more than most other things to be able to be for someone else exactly what Mt.Regis was to me,a Lifesaver. To anyone in need of help obtaining a clean and sober life, I highly recommend My.Regis for your support and recovery team. If you are serious about getting your life back in order, and rebuilding it from the bottom up there is no better place to do so and achieve greatness. Thank you Mt.Regis, and your amazing staff members. Yours truly, Brian Rose

If your looking for place to begin a healthy way of life, and pull out of the darkness of addiction, as I was, Mt.Regis is a great place to start a new chapter. Like anything in life you get out what you put into it, The staff is very knowledgeable, caring and empathetic as many were trapped in the cycle of addiction themselves, and truly can relate to what your going through. I Felt a peace the moment I surrendered the fear and walked through their doors, its a special place to me as it can be for you to.

I arrived at Virginia Baptist on 8/19/26 for an outpatient procedure to have my gallbladder removed. Immediately upon starting the procedure Dr. Lilly found that my gallbladder was badly inflamed and loaded with gallstones and sludge, which was the complete opposite of the ultrasound results I'd received in early July. He & his team then spent 2+ hours making sure that the failing organ that had been causing me distress for months was dissected and removed. I was pretty bummed out learning that I was going to have to spend a night in the hospital but I quickly found out that I had a great care team. My RN & aide on day one, Jessa & Mary, took great care of me. And the night shift care team, Agnes and La-Tamra, were both great and very patient with a very tired and sore man. The lab tech who came by for early AM labs performed one of the least painful hand sticks I've ever experienced and it was such a relief not to have a bruised hand like I end up having so often. On day two Jessa was back to look after me along with a different aide, Michael. They were both so kind and took such great care of me throughout the day. The whole care team definitely made an unexpected hospital stay a great experience and I can't express enough how thankful I am for them, their kindness, their good energy and professionalism.

Birth experience in 2024 was great. Birth experience in 2026 not so great. This may be a longer review, but I want to be as specific and fair as possible about my experience. For context, I gave birth to my second child at this hospital. As I did with my first delivery, I chose to labor and deliver without an epidural or other pain management interventions. I felt confident in this decision because I was familiar with my body’s cues and knew when it was time to push based on my contractions and the natural progression of labor. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Kim Marie Freeman during active labor was disappointing. At a time when I needed support and encouragement, I felt rushed through the process. It seemed as though my labor was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a significant and intensely personal experience. What was particularly discouraging was being told to do something during labor and then being laughed at when I was unable to do it immediately. Labor is physically and emotionally demanding, and those interactions felt insensitive and dismissive. Rather than feeling supported, I felt pressured and unheard. That said, I want to emphasize that the rest of my experience at the hospital was excellent. The nurses, patient care staff, lactation consultants, room service team, and everyone else I interacted with were exceptional. They were attentive, informative, compassionate, and mindful of my needs throughout my stay. Their professionalism and care made a very positive difference in my overall experience. While I am grateful for the outstanding care provided by the hospital staff as a whole, my interaction with Dr. Freeman significantly impacted what should have been a positive birth experience.

My daughter was seen by Dr. Vasedeva, and he was very attentive to her needs, up-to-date on all the statistical information about the medications he was going to be prescribing. He listened to her issues, which was a breath of fresh air opposed to some other clinics in the area we have been to for medication management. All 3 ladies at the front were kind and accommodating, we were running behind due to traffic and road construction so they started filling out the paperwork to help us out. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and at ease, so much so that my other daughter requested to also be seen here. Keep up the hard work y'all, it does not go unnoticed---You guys are AWESOME!

David is professional, compassionate, direct when needed, and genuinely invested in helping people navigate difficult situations, recovery support, and life transitions in a healthy, productive way. Amazing service and kind understanding therapists. I've been using horizon for close to 2 years now and have received tremendous care. Scott Bradley, whom I see, never pushes me to follow by the book therapy and allows me to choose my own path. A fantastic listener and patient therapist, he has seen me at my worst and best. I ALWAYS feel encouraged, safe, and cared for when I'm there. I have come a long way thanks to him. I owe Horizon and Scott my deepest gratitude for helping unravel my anxiety, depression, and emotional struggles.

Dr Gilmore is amazing. So helpful, understanding, and compassionate. Also very thorough. Can't say as much for everyone else. Some people are just RUDE and you can definitely tell they DO NOT enjoy working there. But as far as counselors, doctor's, and nurses, they are all amazing.

I just wanna say that my son went here for several years and it made such a positive impact on my son and our family. The staff there is wonderful. They truly care about helping your child thrive and be able to work through understanding their abilities. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.

This positive review is long overdue. The skill building run by along with its partnership with the therapists and the good working relationships amongst them and the autistic services provided for children I appreciated at the time and their was a sense of warmth 😊 and gratitude but not until I left the area did I fully realize how special the treatment was and how great it is that you use state and federal funding for the betterment of society. How grateful I am that I was fortunate enough to be wrapped up with so many gifted people in the right line of work for the right reasons while my children were young. How little at the time did I realize how much my happiness was due to the support provided by places like yours. To those of you that are Christians... keep fighting the good fight and keep using your many wonderful talents to bring a sparkle to the eye of the vulnerable

Have had a great experience with this company. They have helped my wife and autistic daughter so much. My wife and I are very grateful to see our daughter making so much progress through their ABA program.

I have been going to the madeline center for over 6 years. The madeline center has absolutely saved my life. It has a very special place in my heart. It hurts my heart to read some comments about some of the peoples experience. I am turely sorry to hear that anyone has had to go through situations they have went through at the madeline. The madeline is a very amazing and special place for anyone who is looking for a positive change in their lives. You will have one on one sessions with therapist along with an amazing group sessions you will partake in to share your story with others who are as well struggling with similar issues in their lives. Yes there has been some staff changes over the years and some very special therapist and doctor have choosen to part ways with the madeline center over the year. And yes it has changed not only my own Experiences over the years, but many others as well. I will never give up on the madeline center and i will do anything in my power to help the madeline in any way possible so they can continue to help others as they have helped me and saved my life. I would be dead right now 100%, if it were not for the madeline center. They are helping me continue on my 6 year strong Sobriety of walking, breathing and living on this earth with my childern and family i am blessed to have. Thank you madeline center. Everyone mean so very much to me at the facility, and i know how hard everyone is working to help others. I can only pray for the strenght and knowledge i can return for every member of the madeline center family as you have did for me. Please keeep up the great work helping others. You save lives everyday you have your door open. Thank you.

My son has tried inpatient rehab in the past and it didn't work. Madeline Centre has reached him in a way that others haven't. They met him "where he was" and gradually have shown him a way to sober living. Fear of failure can be a trigger and I think he knows that they will be there if he falls without any judgement. He likes the warm and family-like atmosphere that they offer.

Have had nothing but excellent services with Anderson. I have been working through a lot of things including divorce, death and other things. They have been the most supportive counseling center I have delt with. I have been in and out of counseling service since I was a kid but anderson counseling not only values there clients but goes out of there way and beyond to help what ever the situation may be.

Anderson Counseling is amazing, the staff are so helpful and go above and beyond for you. 3 months ago for the first time ever I decided to reach out to a counselor to help with some personal issues in my life. Dr.Anderson has been so great to work with and has helped me tremendously with working through issues and on myself. The best decision I made was to reach out and start coming in for counseling services. I will always continue to support his practice.
