I had a great experience with New Choices. I'm in the process of getting my driver's license restored after some years of suspension, and substance / alcohol abuse counseling was one of the requirements. I decided to join the group sessions that David holds several times per week and was thoroughly impressed with his level of investment and dedication to his clients. For people in crisis, here is an individual with many years of experience helping people clean up the wreckage they've created in their lives and figure out how to stabilize the crisis and make the changes necessary to get started on a path of recovery. Spero Health is hands down the best addiction treatment center. I’ve been to over 5 different places to be able to get subs, and I’m blown away at the quality of service Spero provides!! I drove 1.5 hours to get here and it’s worth it. The office is quiet, clean, smells good, and plays good music. The staff are so incredibly attentive and kind. They make me feel like I’m an active participant in my treatment, like I’m the one making the decision on what I want to do. Every dollar I spent and every mile I drove to get here was worth it!

My psychiatrist is awesome. He listens well, and we make plans together for my meds. The only negative I've seen in my year at Blue Ridge is the policy for no call no-shows. I accidentally did a no call no-show once, as I forgot about an appointment. They stopped sending refills of my medication immediately. I had to be unmedicated until I was able to sit and wait for hours to be reinstated, and then scheduled in again. The staff is amazing. The policy sucks.

The skill building run by along with its partnership with the therapists and the good working relationships amongst them and the autistic services provided for children I appreciated at the time and their was a sense of warmth 😊 and gratitude but not until I left the area did I fully realize how special the treatment was and how great it is that you use state and federal funding for the betterment of society. Doreen Delali Apaloo will literally make you off yourself!!! This place is the worst. She was literally always late to appts that were only 30 minutes to begin with. She always showed up at the last 10 minutes. Refused to sign FMLA paperwork and waited forever to finally send anything until the case closed. Had attitudes and told me because I was not high acquity like schizophrenia that I shouldn't be missing work for panic attacks. Never sent refills to pharmacy unless I kept calling for the 1000th time. Was really scared I would run out of medication and have withdrawals. Literally only had 1 pill left before she finally sent a refill. Had to get the front desk staff to constantly message her. Doesn't respond to portal messages and tells me she's really busy in the clinic as a justification when I finally hear from her. Hold times to the clinic on average is 30 minutes. If you're on your last straw with life do not go here. It was such a set back mentally for me.

I was voluntary and quickly DTO’d due to not being able to articulate I was uncomfortable with the room I was in.
Due to COVID no visitors were allowed, however, hopefully if not ideal patients can at least FaceTime/messenger family
The one time the third floor went outside I don’t recalling grass, I believe it was all pebbles. When I transitioned to the second floor, there was a window in the room and we were able to go to the gym for group. I would hope that on the weekends, the third floor gets to visit the gym, I did not during my stay in 2023. The staff on the third floor, for the exact people, I need in my life to get help at that time. Essentially angels to me.

Great speakers and info! Learning the different perspectives and how the RPs, Directors, IT, and HR, and even finance works together was great. Lovingoood was the high point! I met with a guy from vasap to set up a time to start taking my classes then they told me I needed to pay 500 dollars before I start taking the class and I didn't have the money at the time so I cancelled the classes. Never went to a single class. They charged me the whole 500 dollars just for meeting with the guy and took it out of my tax returns 2 years in a row which is $1,000 dollars for a class I never took and in order for me to take the class I gotta pay up front again although I already paid twice for a class I never took. This is just another crooked agency used to rob people of their hard earned money. It should be illegal.

I came from Loudoun County, Virginia, the wealthiest county in the United States. NRVCS is LIGHTYEARS beyond what Loudoun County offers. I probably can't even get into much detail, but mostly just, probably the opposite of what most people end up receiving in most other places, from level of care and attention, to excellent, helpful, LOGICAL, respectful, resourceful, dedicated, personalized experts in virtually any social services arena. Amazing, competent, caring and thorough staff, I personally cannot thank this place enough. NRVCS has helped me change my life around in a very efficient matter. They don't do "cookie- cutter" help. They help on so many levels on virtually any issues you could imagine. NRVCS should serve as an example to the entire nation on how to use community resources to ACTUALLY help people. I cannot recommend or thank them enough.
