All the people who work in this center are wonderful, from the staff of the reception to the nurses who are always willing to help you when you need it. Really it was thanks to the help I received in this place that I was able to recover my life and start again, thanks for opening the doors for me to have a second chance.

I put a 4 just get you to read scale. Everything going great during intake webcam with Dr. Jessica Jeffrey . 5/8's into the prescription mesh she starts dropping ewaste cartridges. I mean like a test that determines if I have titty fat when we ask what it is right after --> I have a 5 and 0 runoff. So we are apexing somewhere else. Also out of the 6 meds that we got refilled the 7th was also not check for refill, just like the crisis center next door. What's good for the gang ... is good for the gang. try ABT counselling telehealth instead. Im here to try all the flavors.

I came from Loudoun County, Virginia, the wealthiest county in the United States. NRVCS is LIGHTYEARS beyond what Loudoun County offers. I probably can't even get into much detail, but mostly just, probably the opposite of what most people end up receiving in most other places, from level of care and attention, to excellent, helpful, LOGICAL, respectful, resourceful, dedicated, personalized experts in virtually any social services arena. Amazing, competent, caring and thorough staff, I personally cannot thank this place enough. NRVCS has helped me change my life around in a very efficient matter. They don't do "cookie- cutter" help. They help on so many levels on virtually any issues you could imagine. NRVCS should serve as an example to the entire nation on how to use community resources to ACTUALLY help people. I cannot recommend or thank them enough.

I will recommend NRVCS in Radford to any and everyone. They care. They listen. And they work with you. My psychiatrist took one session to fix my sleep habits and my counselor. Oh man. She is the best person ever on this earth. Thank you NRVCS. You really did save me and my life.

Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

New patients are very poorly informed, the staff expects patients to know what to do. They do not provide a good guide for patients to achieve their goals, they don't care that patients recover and become sober, the only thing that matters to them is the money they receive. The counselor was not much help either.

Avoid at all costs! In 2023 and 2025 NRVCS staff violated many of my Civil Rights and client rights. NRVCS staff regularly retaliates to complaints by petitioning for unnecessary Wellness Checks, Emergency Custody Orders, and Temporary Detention Orders instead of handling the complaints professionally. The records will include, and reference, false statements from NRVCS staff. Any evidence to the contrary will be ignored. The NRVCS "Human Rights Advocate" will claim that you weren't receiving licensed services, and blame the Magistrate for accepting the petition from their licensed professionals, instead of taking responsibility for the violations from their licensed professionals.

Great place,with great people taking the best of care for you. Would go back again to them if I had to am would resend them to others. They have taken care of me an my husband and an we both just loved them. Every body nursing,PT,dietary,house keeping an all who helped me get to were I am now God Bless Each of You.

It’s a real gift to be relatable to young people and be able to guide them to a life of integrity. My son was completely lost before coming to Insight. He has been living a sober life and working a twelve step program and has a relationship with God. I can see that he is working through his issues and learning to deal with daily life as it is. Our family is changing and growing, and I see him for the brave person he is. He has a strong support system and plenty of sober friends to have fun with. The Insight Program is forever in my heart.

The House of prayer is a great place for young men to try to get your life back together with the help of the Lord Jesus Christ. They were work hard and trust in the Lord they can make it. It’s a beautiful area seem like they take good care of the guys that trying to get their last back that sure do appreciate these folks.

Right place, only the receptionist is a bit rude. A friend of mine got treatment for DUI and alcohol abuse, we have to intervene for him, and we decided to send him here because the treatment is proper. He's now happy and sober, and we owe to this place for the life of our buddy.

Accountability is what held me back from being the best me. I needed that to keep me on the best path. They hold you accountable for your actions there, ppl may not like that and want to be mad when csught up, but you get what you put into life. Also, NONE OF THE PICTURES ARE FROM THE BTC lol. Idk why the didn't use real photos. Eh it's all good though.

This place has had some of the best fist fights I’ve ever seen! You can watch some entertaining things while waiting to dose. Then if you need a little extra kick you find it right out in the parking lot! Good times, good times! I never wanted to quit anyway I just wanted a cheap, reliable dealer and I have finally found her. I traded a weedeater last week for my dose. You can’t just do that anywhere!

Have been here many times for Mental Health therapy sessions. In process of getting transferred here from Asheville VA Medical Center for my Primary Care Provider as my long time doctor, Scott Cassidy, M.D. has retired. Starting with a new doctor here, 1 hour and 10 minutes closer to home. Received great, friendly, prompt and professional care as a walk-in patient. With no assigned doctor, they still treated me with respect and dignity. Highly recommend the Hickory VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

In light of a number of reviewers that have decided to detail their experience in ways that proclaim their victimhood, I'd like to preface my review by saying that the Insight Program is a voluntary program. Meaning that the recipient of the service must consent to any services provided and that he/she/they has the option to relieve themselves of said service at any given time. For any newcomers brought here by word of mouth, referral, or perhaps a desperate search for hope, I'd like to caution you from extracting truth from reviews that presume the contrary. You'll find a common theme in reviews such as these: unsubstantiated blame and an absolute shamelessness to be seen as the victim. While these words might appear to come from a place of bitterness and resentment, I assure you it's the opposite. Many of those reviewers, and their beneficiaries, represent some of my first friends when I was lucky enough to join the program. I was 18, trying my hand at college, struggling to maintain a romantic relationship, overwhelmed by life outside of home and pretending that taking Xanax and synthetic opiates for breakfast was normal (among other peculiar justifications). I had struggled with drugs and alcohol abuse prior to this, but I hadn't yet experienced loneliness and stress to this extent. Shortly after my second semester at school I overdosed and was sent to a behavioral health unit. My parents were as supportive and afraid as they were distraught. After deciding to return to Greensboro, my mom, the hero in this story, reached out to an old friend who was a parent involved in the parent group of the program. My first 2 months of IOP services were unbearable. I won't parrot my resentful friends and suggest it was because of the staff, the hours, the meetings, the suggestions or some form of unholy, sadistic indoctrination of cult-like ideology; my level of misery was in direct proportion to my unwillingness to take responsibility for the man I chose to be and the life I chose to create. The more it was "your" fault, the worse I felt. With that being said, not only do I understand the place from which the malice found in these negative reviews was born, I was another couple years of victimization and unwillingness to confront my reality from writing my own hate-filled review. Today I have 8 years sober, approaching 9. My experience with Insight has been absolutely wonderful in every way. It would be naïve to suggest that I was incapable of getting sober anywhere else, but from where I stand now, I have a very difficult time imagining anywhere better than the Insight Program. Here are a few things I'm lucky enough to have in my life today that I wouldn't have without my recovery. I have an absolutely incredible relationship with my parents that I thought was never possible (mostly thanks to the Parent Program at Insight). I laugh a lot. I have goals and aspirations. I have a group of friends that I would do anything for, and I know the feeling is mutual. I'm still learning how to budget... I haven't sincerely considered taking a drink or using a drug in a very, very long time. And I genuinely love my life today. However, I don't want to create the impression that this has been "easy" or that as soon as I got sober my problems melted away. I have plenty of feelings that I still respond poorly to, I have a host of character traits that aren't pretty when brought to the light of day, sometimes I let fear dictate my actions and I still need help. The quality of my recovery, and lack thereof, is 100% up to me and the results aren't without work. However, what's abundantly clear to me is that the work is worth it. I'm eternally grateful for all of the people at Insight who made my experience so wonderful.
