About Life Center of Galax
One thing that I like about this facility is that it offers addiction treatment for a variety of drugs. Clients can receive help for addictions to heroin, marijuana, meth and other substances. They also provide assistance for those struggling with prescription drug addiction. Life Center of Galax features a qualified staff that includes board certified psychiatrists, licensed counselors and nurse practitioners. Most patients will start by undergoing their detox program with assistance from the 24 hour nursing staff. If medication assisted treatment is necessary for opiate addiction, patients may receive methadone, Vivitrol or buprenorphine. All of the medications are designed to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and drug cravings.
In the residential treatment program, clients receive assessments, testing and interviews to develop a treatment plan. The treatment plan is also adjusted throughout the time the client is there. Therapeutic treatments that clients may receive include reality therapy, experiential therapy and cognitive therapy.
In the outpatient drug rehab program, clients receive a less intense approach through day support that gives them the flexibility to leave the center after the completion of treatment for the day. Services in this program include group therapy and leisure activities.

Most staff at this place should not have a job there. They lack compassion and they lack the ability to care for the patients there. Nursing there is some of the worse I’ve ever seen. Yes there are some employees that really do care about the patients but sadly most of the employees there neglect their responsibilities and much more. Patients ask for help all the time just to be told to go see this person then that person and in the end never getting the help they need wether it be for medical or mental or just about anything. Heck your loved ones might as well forget getting their clothes because they can ask for well over a month to just have employees get upset/annoyed and then still not help get their clothes for them. And the better you are as an employee, the more than chances you have of them firing you. I mean you can get fired when you’ve done nothing wrong and it’s just crazy. I would suggest that if you want your loved ones to get help, then choose a different place as this place chances are will not benefit and or work for them
