Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

I can't thank Peggy Lombardo (Alumni Coordinator) enough for saving a family member's life. She befriended "Will" long before he was willing to seek help. He was never alone in life because she checked on him regularly and gently coaxed him into getting the help that he desperately needed. Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run. As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.". How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? There is no repayment plan that could ever be enough for this angel on earth. Peggy will always be our angel. She truly has an amazing gift and we are forever in her debt. XO

My husband and I were new clients for Mr. Geho. While at our most recent session we informed Mr. Geho that we could hear everything he and his other clients were saying behind closed doors. When it came time for my husband and I to be seen, I expressed that I didn't want my private medical information being overheard by strangers and asked if there was a way to make the session private and HIPPA compliant. In response to this Mr. Geho told my husband and I: "you can leave". My husband spoke up and convinced Mr. Geho to turn on a radio to make the session private. This may not be a big deal to some, but for my husband and I, it was enough reason to cancel all future appointments and seek care elsewhere.

I’m speaking on behalf of my child’s father who was referred to this place from Lighthouse in Ardmore when he got out. He was told August 8th a bed would be open and he waited and he did what he was told by calling a couple days before and getting things worked out. I do not know the main guys name but he kept giving him hope and telling him to reach out this time, this day and we will figure something out and that turned to not answering or calling him back. You have someone who wants help and needs help and you do that? Anyone who’s on the line with faith, sobriety, or hope will fall quickly if he feels someone can let him down in this manner. So shame on you sir, and we will get help elsewhere. Do not recommend this place what so ever and especially for the false hope and lack of communication

My son had a appointment for 9:00am they asked us to arrive early. We got got there at 8:30am and the doors were locked. We left and came back at 9: 00. We went on the inside to check in. There were two ladies working in the front They looked at us and frowned. We were not greeted . The receptionist’s had really bad attitudes. The receptionist tried to argue with me that I never came The appointment at 8:30. My 19 year old son looked at them and said ma’am I really need help will you please let me be seen ?She begin arguing back and forth with me and my son still saying that we wasn’t there. She then said I walked outside and I did not see you all. That was unprofessional. If they wanted us to be there early the door should have been opened for us to enter the inside of the building when we got there. A reception going out into the parking lot looking For a client to sign in is very unprofessional.l told my son come on let’s go. I then took him over to RHA and we were treated with dignity and respect. My son is 19 and has been battling mental illness for almost 4 years now. I hate I ever took my son to this place. It scares me that these women are working in the front of a place where people really need help. They are taking taking advantage of their jobs as receptionist at this behavior health center. When I asked her to speak to a supervisor. She then looked at me and said we don’t have a supervisor. That’s when I looked at my son and told come on it’s time for us to go. Then we left. He is getting the help that he needs somewhere else at this time. I would not recommend this place. I am also going to go further with this to report what happened to county and state officials as well. We have never been treated like this before by receptionist. Why they are being allowed to do this I do not know. This is very unprofessional and I would never recommend anyone or take my son here again.

Would not recommend. I attended Harmony Recovery Center purely for mental health treatment for anxiety, depressionand trauma. I am a social worker in another state and was mystified by the operations of the facility. I was told things were different than they actually were upon my arrival particularly regarding phone accessibility in your first few days, not being informed to pack/bring certain items that were not provided by facility, being allotted only $60 per week for food (dinners and meals on Sunday's), etc. Staff did not provide guidance as to a daily schedule, processes within the facility and program or just a welcoming presence unless asked. Meals "catered" while I was at the center included meatsauce and spaghetti with minimal meat sauce, cereal for breakfast or oatmeal, and a turkey and ham wrap with chips. The groups facilitated at the center were less than helpful as well (group rules were not followed, patients slept or were disruptively in and out of group leaving only a few individuals engaged and staff seemed vastly unprepared and ill equipped to facilitate the length of groups offering little structure). There were significant concerns of certain staff members transporting patients to and from the center by several patients as staff "raced" the vans from the center to the housing area at significantly higher speeds than the speed limit all while playing extremely loud rap music on the radio and blasting the horn. Mental health patients were in the same housing as those dealing with addiction which made for difficult dynamics. Several patients were smoking crack in the housing areas and the only consequence was there phones being taken away. I felt unsafe and the environment was too chaotic for someone seeking solace and help for mental health issues. I went an entire day without a medical medication that I brought from home and was approved that the center chose to regulate but not provide as prescribed. Much was in disrepair at the housing center including broken furniture and broken appliances. Additionally housing was located in an unsafe area with drug activity one street over. Again, I felt unsafe and that this entire experience was extremely unhelpful for my mental health.

The facility is always clean and provides good service. Most of the staff are helpful and courteous. However, there's always that few who just aren't happy people so sadly they project that on to others hence the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

I've dealt with many VA regions (VISN's) over the past 3 decades, and this medical facility is one of the very best! Nowhere else have I encountered medical professionals who so clearly demonstrate their care for the patients! I get appointments, follow-ups and care plans quickly. The doctors spend time examining and communicating with their patients, while in so many other clinics, you see only the back of a "physician"'s head as (s)he types on the computer and throws more pills at you. I thank YOU for YOUR service!

This place has saved my life. It helped me get my life back together. It's helping me with my mental state and my way of thinking. The staff is amazing. Richie and Stephanie do what ever they can to help. I recommend this place to everybody I know and meet. Ms Peggy got me into this place when I needed it the most. And I owe my life to her and a few other people here. My husband and my mother in law are going to be here soon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Life-Changing Experience at Harmony Recovery Center Harmony Recovery Center has been nothing short of life-changing for me. It provided a safe haven during one of the most difficult times in my life. The care, support, and genuine compassion from the staff here are unmatched. I want to personally thank Ms. Peggy Lombardo, she is truly an angel, and I feel like I owe her a mansion for everything she’s done for me. Her support alone made such a huge difference in my recovery. Also, shout-out to Evie, Richie, Leo and Stephanie (the Director)each one of them went above and beyond to make sure I was supported and understood. A heartfelt thank you to my therapist Roxanne and to Jerrod, my former therapist and now facilitator. Their guidance and understanding helped me find myself again. I’m also grateful for Dennissha, the Behavioral Technician who was always available and willing to help in any way she could, day or night. The alumni program is another highlight, keeping us connected and continuing to support us even after completing treatment. It's clear that Harmony truly cares about every individual who walks through their doors. I’m a satisfied and grateful client who has found my purpose again thanks to the treatment I received here. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or substance use, I highly recommend Harmony. Your fresh start begins here. Thank you, Harmony Recovery Center. 🙏🏾

My journey with Harmony Recovery Center didn’t end after treatment—it continued through the incredible support of their Alumni Program and Family Liaison team. The connection I built with the staff, especially Peggy Lombardo, made a lasting impact on my recovery and personal growth. Peggy has been a true anchor—compassionate, consistent, and genuinely invested in each person’s journey. She goes above and beyond to ensure that alumni and their families feel seen, supported, and part of a community that truly cares. Whether it’s staying connected, providing resources, or just checking in when it matters most, the alumni program has been a vital part of maintaining sobriety and staying grounded. Knowing there’s someone on the other side who truly understands means everything. I’m incredibly grateful for Harmony’s continued care and the strength of the alumni network they’ve created. It’s not just a program—it’s a lifeline.

In my opinion, this was the worst facility that I could ever imagine. After almost dying there, I was afraid to seek help for my addiction to Xanax. I have finally found the best treatment in the country. Tranquility Woods and Maryland is fabulous.
