Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

I put a 4 just get you to read scale. Everything going great during intake webcam with Dr. Jessica Jeffrey . 5/8's into the prescription mesh she starts dropping ewaste cartridges. I mean like a test that determines if I have titty fat when we ask what it is right after --> I have a 5 and 0 runoff. So we are apexing somewhere else. Also out of the 6 meds that we got refilled the 7th was also not check for refill, just like the crisis center next door. What's good for the gang ... is good for the gang. try ABT counselling telehealth instead. Im here to try all the flavors.

I probably can't even get into much detail, but mostly just, probably the opposite of what most people end up receiving in most other places, from level of care and attention, to excellent, helpful, LOGICAL, respectful, resourceful, dedicated, personalized experts in virtually any social services arena. Amazing, competent, caring and thorough staff, I personally cannot thank this place enough. NRVCS has helped me change my life around in a very efficient matter. They don't do "cookie- cutter" help. They help on so many levels on virtually any issues you could imagine. NRVCS should serve as an example to the entire nation on how to use community resources to ACTUALLY help people. I cannot recommend or thank them enough.

I will recommend NRVCS in Radford to any and everyone. They care. They listen. And they work with you. My psychiatrist took one session to fix my sleep habits and my counselor. Oh man. She is the best person ever on this earth. Thank you NRVCS. You really did save me and my life.

Lisa is the best substance abuse counselor I've had yet! She's so understanding and she's upfront and honest also friendly at the same time ! Only 15 dollars an hour!

My counselor was awesome. She's very indetp and intuned in the teachings. Very easy to relate and communicate with. Thanks to her I am now smoke free amonsg other things she helped me understand I did not. My time at Donlin was a very changing and beneficial experience. It really opened my eyes. Thanks again for everything!

This place literally saved my life. The ladies here are wonderful, although I miss Liz! She was like a second mama to me while still remaining professional. She truly made my experience here a good one.

After 20 years in active addiction I attended treatment at POH. After treatment I transitioned to the halfway house for a year and today I am 7 years sober!!!! This place saved my life!!!!

The House of prayer is a great place for young men to try to get your life back together with the help of the Lord Jesus Christ. They were work hard and trust in the Lord they can make it. It’s a beautiful area seem like they take good care of the guys that trying to get their last back that sure do appreciate these folks.

Since talking to my therapist here I have grown exponentially. I still have struggles but are able to talk with my therapist and set goals to complete

I’ve been seeing Jason for therapy for a little over a year and he is awesome. I never had good experiences with therapist until I met him. He’s super personable and just makes the experience fun and like you’re actually being heard instead of judged. Highly recommend him for therapy or just Daymark in general for your emotional/mental health services

If you call access which is through nrvcs in a crisis they hang up on you.

I have been a patient in the hospitals Cancer Clinic since 2012. That ought to say a lot about the staff and what they do. Professional doctors and nurses. Admin staff is superb. When you enter they greet you will a smile and care. I must point out how good the nurses are. They make me feel like I am a family member and care for me appropriately. Those who live in in this area are fortunate to have access to such an excellent facility. I have been an overnight patient in the main hospital too and my experience there was equally superb.

Have been here many times for Mental Health therapy sessions. In process of getting transferred here from Asheville VA Medical Center for my Primary Care Provider as my long time doctor, Scott Cassidy, M.D. has retired. Starting with a new doctor here, 1 hour and 10 minutes closer to home. Received great, friendly, prompt and professional care as a walk-in patient. With no assigned doctor, they still treated me with respect and dignity. Highly recommend the Hickory VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

Case management and therapy have been hard to find and feel accepted and like I'm worthy of help! I have not been able to find the right medicine for me and it's very frustrating. I was told , I am treatment resistant and I've never been told that before.
