About the Facility

Mercer County Fellowship Home offers a transitional living for adult men who are in recovery from alcohol and substance abuse. They assist residents using education, counseling and sober lifestyle. Mercer County Fellowship Home is located at Bluefield, West Virginia.

Mercer County Fellowship Home philosophy is based on helping to change lives one day at a time. Their main purpose is to provide housing and recovery services to adult males who are recovery from alcohol and substance abuse issues. They also help their residents using education and lifestyle changes.

During their stay, residents must attend scheduled AA meetings at the Home on Tuesday and Fridays. The first Friday of every month is intergroup meeting and weekend passes will not be approved until after the meeting.

Residents will also have access to licensed counselors or referrals to counseling.

Alcoholism

The primary rule in a sober living home in West Virginia is that residents stay sober. In addition to this rule, residents are encouraged to find work or attend school and must contribute to household chores and abide by a curfew. These rules encourage responsible behavior and help residents maintain a structured, sober lifestyle. The halfway house setting helps people in recovery avoid isolation, practice responsibility, and develop supportive relationships.

12-Step

Participants in 12 step programs receive ongoing peer support while cultivating recovery-focused life skills. They engage in frequent, sometimes daily, 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, peer-led, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors offer one-on-one mentoring throughout the recovery journey. This model invokes spiritual principles to encourage self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance in persons pursuing recovery. Specialized formatting is common, including programs for teens, seniors, and family members.

Clinical Services

Group Therapy
