The nurses, therapists, and social workers were absolutely phenomenal. They could not have been more friendly, understanding, and helpful - all except one. I did not have Kenyetta as my individual therapist and only had one interaction with her while I was being discharged, during which she was excessively confrontational and hostile. She came up to me out of nowhere as I was signing my discharge papers and she immediately picked a fight with me and declared that I was being “rude” to her when I simply responded that I didn’t need any assistance with the discharge process. As someone who has been through several inpatient and outpatient programs and has worked with countless therapists and social workers, this individual belongs in quite literally ANY field besides this one. I am absolutely baffled beyond belief that this woman passed the interview process, let alone has been allowed to stay here for as long as she has. Someone with such an adversarial temperament as hers should be nowhere near this type of facility as she is completely unequipped to deal with people who are in their most vulnerable state. I say this not out of spite or malice, but out of genuine concern for the patients at Sandstone. I am not the only person who had an offensively negative experience with her - every single patient that had her as their individual therapist expressed to me that she was unnecessarily rude and actually reversed the progress they had been making in group therapy. I seriously hope these concerns are taken seriously and that something is done to address this hostile individual, because it can genuinely endanger someone’s life to be attacked that way when they are already going through so much. Her position at Sandstone - and as a social worker in general - needs to be completely reevaluated. Once again, I truly hope that her rude remarks and belligerent behavior are addressed, because the safety of the patients at Sandstone is at extreme risk with her around. For the sake of our community’s physical safety, this absolutely must be addressed with haste. He spent one month at Sandstone and is now working, living at a sober home, and he has been sober for nearly 3 months. He seems genuinely happy for the first time in a very long time. Jamie Guy 1 month ago I had a great experience and this was my 4th treatment center. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years! From the moment I walked in, the space felt intentional and genuinely welcoming—something that’s not always easy to achieve in behavioral health settings. There’s a thoughtful balance here: it’s structured and clearly designed to support meaningful work, while still feeling open, comfortable, and human. What stood out most to me was how the environment supports both focus and connection. There are defined spaces to get things done, but nothing feels closed off or isolating. There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection. Meeting members of the team only reinforced that impression. Everyone I interacted with was engaged, grounded, and clearly invested in the work they’re doing. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have currently been at this location for 6 months. My experience has been great. All of the staff are extremely kind and welcoming. I was amazed to find out the clinic was owned by the same company I had just left, (bc of a move) and in the process of changing over. I can imagine that the transition could be extremely stressful. My experience was the transition has been a fairly seamless one. I think the new company is doing great and everyone has worked together to make a great MAT facility. This clinic has only improved since I've been here. Although it's a very small clinic there is never a wait, I am in and out quickly. My counselor is wondeful and does not have the "treatment burnout," that often happens in MAT settings. All of the counselors are extremely helpful. If you follow the simple rules, this clinic will work for you. I must mention before closing that the front desk ladies are the best!! Having someone smile and ask you how you are doing is thoughtful. Thanks to everyone that makes this place work. If you are considering going to Annandale Comprehensive treatment, go.
