I finished my time at The Farley Center one week ago. Since my treatment, my health and life has turned around. In what can be a thankless job, the men and women who work at Farley give 100% to everyone. The nurses, particularly Deanna, are busy every minute of the day and are very kind and caring. FARLEY has excellent counselors, and their support staff are exceptional as well. I was also allowed to have my support dog with me for the whole time I was there. I was given the opportunity to give suggestions to the CEO and The Clinical Director. They were both very receptive. I highly recommend the Farley center.

Their main treatment options are medication assisted treatment and outpatient counseling for adults and pregnant women. Medication assisted treatment consists of meds that can help you with your withdrawal pains a | Treatments Programs Payment Options | it's a mostly good place. not all the staff are my favorite, but that's going to happen anywhere. the new director was handed a pile of mess and is trying to make the best of it while making things better at the same time, and she's doing the best she can with what she was given from what I can tell. most of these patients just don't have.... patience. I've seen them corner staff members and scream at them for being held outside while a patient is having a medical emergency in the lobby. they only care about themselves, and there are no employees or security on drugs or smoking pot outside.
I'm hopeful they can get to a place where they can have a really good crew that stays for a long time and works cohesively together. I'm glad this clinic is here for those of us that need it.
the only staff member I truly have an issue with is a counselor (?) Sarah. I'm not sure what her problem is but she looks at us and treats us like we're just a bunch of junkies and nothing more. she is rude to clinic patients, she's not understanding to any situation, she lies to patients just so she doesn't have to do something, or even try, and the worst one: she also breaks HIPAA - her office is right off the lobby & if you're standing there, you can hear both sides of her entire Zoom call therapy appointments because she keeps her door wide open during these calls. I heard everything one young woman said in her appointment, very personal things. she should be ashamed of herself. the behavior I have seen from her is honestly unacceptable, and I don't believe this is the job for her. if you think addicts are beneath you, you shouldn't be working here Sarah.

I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with addiction. For the first time in my life I have found a place with a staff that not only cares deeply for their patients, but also do not make their patients feel judged. They really do seem to care beyond any other facility I have been to, and I have been to several. I still have a long way to go, but just knowing that they see their patients as human beings who are in a lot of pain emotionally and mentally, and not just “junkies” , is what gives me the strength and courage to keep trying. The staff is absolutely amazing. I will forever be grateful for this , facility, the staff, and the doctors associated with this treatment program.

This program at this facility helped me work my own recovery. I had good and okay counselors the one I'm moving facilities from I will miss greatly. She advocated for my constant part in the program I followed their program and in turn I have been rewarded with freedom from my active addiction. Even if I need to be in this program longer than other people think, I'll always be grateful to this place and the professionals that showed up every single day so I didn't have to be a street addict anymore with no way of accomplishing mental health and sucess. Thank you, I hope the next pinnacle in my journey sets a gold star like all of you!

my review is specifically of the APY unit, the lesser intensity of the 2 adult units. Listen, nobody likes being admitted to a recovery center. it’s not a luxury hotel, it is designed to keep you safe and regulate you and this place serves its purpose well. The care team genuinely has a heart for providing care for the patients (with maybe one or two misfit employees who arent as motivated by kindness, as in any work force.) I felt respected and dignified during my stay there. i watched staff interact with difficult patients and offer them the same grace and dignity. The groups were largely effective and the meals were as to be expected with regards to my dietary needs. daily art therapy was delightful! I didnt love having to be there but i want anyone considering APY to know i had a positive experience. I don’t want to return but if i ever need to i would know i’d be in capable hands.

| The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place is a residential addiction and mental health treatment center based in Williamsburg, Virginia. They have capacity for 66 adults and seniors. Along with substance use disorder, they’re also able to treat depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorder, and bipolar disorder. They also offer outpatient care for those w | Treatments Programs Payment Options | While nobody wakes up wanting to go to a mental health hospital, specially on a TDO (temporary detention order), I must say The Pavilion turned out to be a God sent for my son! My son had 2 TDOs in Florida and after 3 days would check himself out. Thankfully, this last time it happened in Virginia and the system was different. In other words, he wasn't going to get released just because he wanted to. On the contrary, he was kept in the hospital until he got well. After 18 days, I finally had a conversation with my son and heard him as the son I knew and know he is in my heart. He had not been like this in 4 years. It would not have happened without the support of the staff in the Pavilion- the Case Workers: Tonya and Kamryn and the nurses in unit 400. Tonya and Kamryn were my lifeline to him being released successfully and at the right time, making sure I communicated with them to let them know what my son was like when he was healthy- this was crucial! These ladies love what they do and it shows. It is not easy to reach them, but have them on speed dial, because eventually you'll reach them.
NOTE: The process overall can be VERY frustrating, especially because my son didn't sign the ROI (release of information) right away and nobody would tell me anything, and although that was VERY difficult to understand, especially because I was so far away, I continued to insist and call multiple times a day. At the end of the day, I was fighting for my son and his rights to get healthy. I personally traveled to the Pavilion from South Florida and confirmed it was a beautiful place, well kept with kind staff. It is not perfect and I'm sure they have a lot to work on, but the result? A son who went back to his baseline, who is in touch with his true self and a family that is more than grateful to finally have a chance to support him and love him back to the best version of himself. If your family member is here, my advice is this: 1) Be ready to call as many times as needed, to as many extensions as needed until someone hears you (they are busy doing the work and are not always available). You will be frustrated at times, but breath and keep going. Try to email as well. 2) Insist on requesting your family member signs the ROI- things got MUCH easier after that. 3) Visit your family member (ask for visiting hours and days)- I feel like when there is a familiar face, the staff begins to know who you are and they communicate more with you. 4) When you speak to your family member, tell him/her to cooperate and give them the names of the Case Worker so they can know who to turn to for help.
Lastly, whoever you are and wherever you are, I pray God will give you and your family member a breakthrough. Don't lose hope and don't lose faith.

Thank you for everything. Despite the negative reviews, I can confidently say that the care provided at the Pavilion is deeply rooted in the patients’ well-being. Every action, even when difficult, was done with the intention of helping us stabilize and heal.
The psych techs did the best they could with the resources available to them, and it showed. The night shift in particular was especially compassionate and grounded. The nurses were incredible, offering both medical support and emotional presence. The psychiatrists and doctors were thorough, respectful, and intentional in their care. And the social workers were kind and supportive throughout the process.
My only recommendation would be for the social work department to offer more personalized accommodations for patients in unique situations. For example, I was in a long-distance relationship and wasn’t able to make a call to my partner despite advocating for it, which affected my emotional regulation. I also had college finals and final projects to complete during my stay, and unfortunately no efforts were made to help me navigate that. I understand they’re limited in scope, but a little extra advocacy in those areas would’ve made a big difference.
Still, I am overwhelmingly grateful. My time at the Pavilion changed my life. And hopefully one day, I’ll walk back through those doors—not as an inpatient, but as a psychiatrist.
Thank you for being part of my healing.

I went to get help and they end up TDOing me because I guess they realized my problems were a lot more serious than even I realized. One of the head nurse practitioners I believe is named Alison and she’s very smart lady concerned with actually helping people. The place just seems understaffed at times which doesn’t allow for everyone’s needs to be met. I remember one time specifically a man was exposing himself multiple times and there were no security guards so the female nurses had to take care of it. There’s also little issues like not enough towels or clothes so maybe bring your own if you can. Waiting for meds can be quite long too. Overall an alright place but there’s better like Virginia Beach Psychiatric Hospital in my opinion. Groups can be sort of discombobulated at The Pavilion as well. A lot of the nurses are great though like Aaliyah and Linda. The social workers do a great job as well I wish their job wasn’t so stressful for them.

Kind of a mixed bag here.
On one hand, this place saved my life. I'll say it again.
It. Saved. My. Life.
When I first went here several years ago, I thought about suicide every day. I hated everyone and everything. I had no capacity for love, even for my family, who I saw as enemies. I was afraid to go near roads because of the overwhelming urge to step into traffic. I screamed at others so loudly I'd lose my voice, for the smallest of slights.
I didn't go outside or leave the house if I could help it. I was facing homelessness because I could no longer handle the pressures of being in public, let alone working. My capacity for stress management was all but gone, and my propensity for violence and rage was always just below the surface, if I was lucky. My family was at a loss to help me, and finding help for my mental state had largely fallen to me to handle, which only compounded my agitation and hopelessness.
This place was scary to go to at first, but I gave it a try anyway. The therapist I was assigned had not yet completed her training, and was more of a general behavioral therapist rather than the a specialist in borderline and depressive behavior.
Still, she gave me someone to talk to. Just one hour a week and it made a ton of difference. Not only that, but when I hurt myself, she helped me find a psychiatrist to stabilize my brain chemistry. The therapist taught me about neuroplasticity and the ability to form new, positive habits, which I took to heart. I really admired the way she took to learning to skills in order to meet my needs, despite no obligation to do so whatsoever.
In time, with her guidance, I was able to find hope again. I learned to be productive, and a year and a half later, I found a job. A year ago I found an apartment of my own. I still struggle, but now I have tools, and a specialist. I am no longer on welfare, and I can pick myself up when I fall down. Being discharged from the place was a triumph because I had learned so much and gained enough semblance of self to stand again, even if it was ultimately an emotional limp at the time.
I went back a year later because after twenty four years of smoking pot, I found that I could not stop. It was really bothering me, so I asked for help from the place that had saved me so dearly not long before. I met an intake counselor who was clearly a pothead himself (one knows his own). When I told him about my addiction, he mocked me for it, telling me that vapes and weed weren't the same (tell that to my brain). Then he dismissed me. It's been two years and I still struggle with this. I quit booze and smoking cigs after 20 years, but I have no support for what was once considered a benign activity. One of the reasons I struggle is because, despite modern studies, I have no emotional or verbal support for my efforts. I am very reluctant to go back here and be mocked for my efforts again. So they helped, and they also sentenced me to a prolonged addiction due to one man's dismissive bias.
Mixed bag.

While during transitions things are usually always rocky and a bit unsettled as can be expected, Ive seen the positive greatly outweigh any of the negitive in the almost 3 yrs. I have been a patient. If you follow the rules and the handbook given on your first day, there are normally no problems. Occasionally things do happen as with any buss. Or situation. If you really want the help, it is there. The entire staff from councilors to nursing to admin. Truely cares about people, and it shows. Today, I wittnessed a medical emergency happen in the waiting room. Staff went above and beyond in handling it. Most Especially the nurse in charge Ms. Carol. She showed total class and professionalism in how she handled the situation as well as showed her personal side and that she really cares about her patients. She really deserves an extra day off paid or somthing of the nature as she earned it and then some this morning. She made sure everything was handled by protocal and also stayed right beside the lady reassuing her she was there, had 9q1 on the way, and that she would be ok. As scary as the situation was, Ms. Carol remained capm and focused the entire time. Being it was a half an hour before closing on a Sat. With a packed waiting room, I am quite sure she had to also stay late. Its easy to complain about things we dont like. What I wittnessed today with staff really touched my heart and I fealt the need to share some POSITIVE about an expierence at BHG.
