I did not stay sober after my stint at BTG but I sincerely believe BTG is the best place to get it done. I don’t consider my time/money spent at BTG to be a waste because I am a far more compassionate and virtuous person than I could have been otherwise. Its a vigorously honest program.

I have been to several clinics and ARS is by far the best clinic I have ever been to. The entire counseling staff is amazing and really cares about each and every patient. The Director, Sharonda, is very personable and is truly a caring person who really goes the extra mile to help you. The nurses are the best I have ever seen and really show their compassion and caring personalities. Its a shame the SAME 2 PATIENTS keep posting negative reviews, because this place truly is a God send and has saved may lives.

It’s unfortunate that the clinic has unhappy patients who write bad reviews because they don’t get their way. The clinic saved my life. The nurses are caring and the new director is extremely nice and always makes herself available for patients. Like most clinics the counselors come and go but there are several that have been there for awhile and are great. My counselor Ann is amazing! No the clinic is not perfect but they care and try. If you’re serious about your recovery ARS is a great place.

Winchester, VA | Edge Hill Retreat Center is a residential addiction treatment center located in Winchester, Virginia. Their residential approa | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Edgehill saved my life. The staff here care. They teach boundaries, accountability, and will show up for you. Getting clean is what you make of it. If you do the work, you’ll see results and the staff will help you every step of the way. If you fall and reach out for help, they will be there to pick you up. I’ll have a decade clean this year and I could never ever ever have done it without the support of the community here. This treatment center is a 12 step model, which has worked for me. They set you up for success with an outpatient program as well as referrals to sober living. We did chores, which helps in taking positive actions, accountability, and gaining self esteem. The groups every day are helpful, educational, and varied so as not to be boring. The AA and NA community hold meetings in their larger meeting room daily so you can’t help but get plugged in to the community. And if you are just having a bad day and no longer at the center you can pop in and there is always someone to talk to. The staff are still apart of my life today, this place is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Had an amazing experience at Edgehill. It took me forever to get into the swing of following the routine. I finally started to get the most out of the program once I took the time to get rid of the anxiety of being somewhere far from home. I appreciate the time they took with me and not just feeling I was a lost cause. The serenity prayer was the thing that stuck with me the most. Shae is an awesome guy who keeps it straight up with you. No sugarcoating what he dealt with and how he became who he is. Joe was the kind of guy you look up to and would never expect to meet there. If you meet Blue in the kitchen youre in for a great meal. The different programs each day was a cool change up from going to so many AA meetings. I learned to open up and share my experience and stories after listening to everyone else. I'm grateful for all the staff there and all the people who made it possible for me to be there. If you have to go to a rehab this is a great place to be.

I was a client for 6 of 7 yrs I was kept in their system. I was just taken out & haven't bn there in a year. I rate them 0. They came to my hospital bedside pressuring me to go. I tried it. It did absolutely nothing for me. I received meds that weren't for me under a doctor who wasn't there. I ran thru workers who were treated just like I was in the world. I helped them get a paycheck and got nothing out of this. Everywhere I go to for help, talks about mental health for them but are not addressing the issues I came for. The people who promote mental health should start with themselves. A lot of resolve is out here. The powers that be has been the problem. Issues can be fixed, problems can not. Let's start off with the good things I experienced:
The food was pretty good
The groups were fun and helpful.
The therapist i had was really nice!
The activity therapists were amazing!
Now for the bad:
Getting my vitals taken was always chaos.
I asked for a blind weight my first night. The lady doing it wasn't listening and just said "yeah sure" so i stepped on the scale backwards and she read my weight to me. It was very triggering.
The night nurse i had (James) most of the time I was there was very unhelpful and rude to me. I was having really bad racing thoughts and I couldn't focus on reading. It was around midnight so the TV wall already off. So, I asked for a permanent marker to draw on myself with (that's been one of my biggest coping mechanisms for a long time) and he refused. I told him he could even watch me. He still refused and told me "to just go to bed and do my 'drawing thing' during the day". He tried forcing meds on me but he couldn't understand that those would make me sleep half the next day. I was always taught to utilize my coping mechanisms before I turn to meds. BUT HE WOULDN'T LET ME. So, I went to bed and ruminated for a couple hours because he didn't even want to try to talk to me about my problems. It was like he made me out to be a burden and I felt terrible.
While the groups they had were helpful and fun, they did not follow the group schedule posted AT ALL.
Overall: no where near the best experience I've had in a psych ward but... Not the worst? The nurses were unhelpful and the docs were only ok. But I did love the groups!

At commitment hearing for family member, judge would not accept any documentation from me since it didn't come through an attorney. However, my research online said to bring detailed information on patient's behavior, etc. This procedure lasted only 10 minutes, and they provided no chairs! The only one with any compassion or helpful information was the patient's attorney. The entire hearing was a sham and unnecessary, since they had already convinced the patient to commit herself voluntarily. Oh--and they told me 9 AM and it wasn't until noon.

I am still at this program, cannot say enough about the way this program bends over backwards to work with me and my needs. They find the effort, time and compassion to really address my needs, not only what I tell them, but what I often try to not share. I have realized that I can really trust this counseling program. After being in other programs in Bedford (TLC), I have had difficulties feeling trusting as Twin Lakes blabbed all my stuff to my PO, which I've learned is against the confidentiality laws and not proper!!!!! There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Virginia. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Virginia that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options.
