If I could give them a 0 rating I would Cassie Mcnamee is horrible she s rude and disrespectful I could give all the details as to why but it s to much, I will say she told me that she wasn t going to make something up in her notes and she completely twisted what I told her she prescribed me something back on Jan 6th and it needed pre authorization and it s March 20 th it would take her over 14 days to respond through the portal one of the pre authorization was denied because she didn t respong unbelievable. Heather Eckenrode is amazing I must add she is my daughters dr and she use to be mine, I never had a problem until this new provider, my mom and my gma have a physician here and same thing. Me and my daughter will be finding new drs, thanks to Mcnamee

I've been still going here as a student still in state and there have been multiple instances where I explained to the person making my appointment that I am not able to attend in-office appointments, and they would still categorize it as in-office and I would discover the day-of and have to call and "see if the provider still wants to see me" like it's my fault that my communicated issues weren't listened to. If your provider wants to prescribe you anything, make sure to ask about common side effects because they do not care about how it will impact your physical/emotional well-being.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients who are leaving detox or intensive inpatient care often transition into a rehab aftercare program. Outpatient treatment is among the most common rehab aftercare services, but clients often continue to receive support long after being discharged from formal treatment. Clients' long-term care plans are highly individualized and designed to evolve with the clients' changing needs. Case managers and care teams typically work with the client to design their unique care strategy.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs receive ongoing peer support while cultivating recovery-focused life skills. They engage in frequent, sometimes daily, 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, peer-led, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors offer one-on-one mentoring throughout the recovery journey. This model invokes spiritual principles to encourage self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance in persons pursuing recovery. Specialized formatting is common, including programs for teens, seniors, and family members.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Planning a drug intervention in West Virginia is a challenging process. Often, complex family dynamics and long-term patterns of behavior are contributing to the addiction. Drug intervention programs offer intervention specialists who can help with this process. These professionals educate everyone involved about substance abuse, addiction, enabling, and recovery. They can facilitate the intervention, keeping the discussion on track and productive. They can also provide treatment options and guide the individual to the best program.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
If you have become physically dependent on drugs or alcohol, quitting abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, headaches, flu-like symptoms, and more. In severe cases, these withdrawal symptoms can even be dangerous. In medically assisted detox, a team of licensed professionals will monitor your vitals, provide medication if needed, and help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

The core philosophies of dialectical behavior therapy in West Virginia are that everything is interconnected, change is inevitable, and you can integrate opposites to reach the truth. Treatment focuses on acceptance and change. You'll learn how emotions and behaviors are connected, accept your feelings, and learn how to change patterns of emotion and behavior.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing in West Virginia is often used when the client's desire to change is low, their confidence is low, or they are struggling with mixed feelings about change. This technique allows them to explore the change process and feel empowered to move forward.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

The worst experience, They therapist who picks and choose you. When you suppose pick them, like our rights don’t matter , I was thrown completely out the system for nothing. I done wrong. Also, the advocate that’s supposed to help you do not answer your calls. Do not return a call and you cannot get to a Directors or anyone higher . . It’s so sad for anyone to be treated like this. People be careful because this place is very unfair, especially to people of color.

Currently 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Was refused MULTIPLE TIMES for a cervix check when I was under the impression it was supposed to be a weekly thing after 37 weeks. NOPE. They didn’t even offer it! As an OB you should AT LEAST offer a cervix check when they come in. ESPECIALLY a pt like myself that lives an 1hr 30min from this establishment. Will never be coming back here for any health issues or prenatal care.

They are so inconsiderate. The check in process needs to be better. We have a 15 min grace period for appointments. Im here at the Dr. Office within that time frame and because there was a long line and only one person to check people in they cancelled my appointment for my sick son.

Honestly the reviews scared me a little bit before coming as I am a new patient but I was very pleased with my visit today. Dr. Wheat made me feel very heard and listened attentively and gave me a plan moving forward and ordered labs to figure out what’s going on. The nurse Brittany was super sweet as well, gave me a flu shot and a strawberry shortcake bandaid 🥰 and then the ladies down at the lab were very sweet with me as well and helped me out.

Terrible customer service, you should never have to wait 20 minutes to speak with the receptionist. I have been a patient for years, the turn over and lack of service is unacceptable. If you leave a message, it is not returned. I have transferred my family to another practitioner. If I could rate lower I would.
