Day 280 the excellent home geriatric doctor is awesome. The benefits are excellent. We’ve adapted and so appreciate the VA! Day 2 and not as impressed but they did fix a wrong scan order so we didn’t have to pack up and leave. Was told meds ready and not there yet. A very long day running around getting nothing done. Day 1 was very impressed with the care my 93 yr old vet fatherin-law received today. He couldn’t have asked for more. All difficulties were addressed, the nearby UVA pharmacy was super speedy and convenient. A different specialty drug through the VA pharm was free and can now be taken.. They have MDs that can come to your house. We got appts lined up a week after we called. Everyone was super awesome. The RN couldn’t been nicer. MD super thorough. A wonderful asset for veterans! We waded through another VA out of state and it was hell getting things set up and no thoroughness medically but also provided great services. We’re happy to find this easier. Thank u!

Avalon Recovery House is a sober living facility in Richmond, Virginia. They provide outpatient addiction treatment and sober living for adults. Avalon Recovery provides a warm and structured environment f | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I moved into the Avalon house about 8 months ago. It has really become a home to me. There is a lot of women in one home but we all manage to get along rather well. The Avalon house has been a safe , supportive, clean environment. We operate similar to the Oxford model in that we hold one another accountable. Anastasia is a hands on housing manager but she gives you the room you need to be an adult and make the decisions for your recovery that you feel are right. If you follow the rules, and prove to her that you’re trustworthy then she affords you that trust and she is understanding. I truly believe that Avalon is one of the main reasons that I’ve been successful in my recovery thus far.
It’s imperative in early recovery to surround one’s self with like minded people and Avalon is absolutely a home that you will find the resources you need to grow and thrive into the person you want to be. I absolutely suggest this home to anyone that is willing to put in the work to live a sober life. It’s all about what we put into it that determines what we get out of it.

Been living at one of Anastasia's houses for over a year, I came to this place via a treatment center and have stayed since. The structure and supportive environment of the house, its owners and its other tenants have helped me to achieve the longest amount of sober time I've had since I first picked up a bottle.

Avalon is simply the best. The owner, Anastasia, is so genuinely invested in the success of every member in her program. She holds people accountable while also offering grace. She stands her ground on what she believes but also takes the time to truly listen. She's involved, caring, and earnestly invested in the path of recovery for every person she meets.
You won't leave this program without being impacted by what she and avalon has to offer. It develops structure, elevates discipline, and guides people from a state of "is this possible?" to a reality of unfathomable possibilities and complete change.

I have left a review on Tucker Pavillion before, but I have to do it again on another account to applaud how amazing the staff are at this behavioral health hospital. Throughout many years from the age 14-18, I was a very troubled teen who struggled with severe post traumatic issues, all of the staff including Adolescent (1 west), 3 east, 3 west, 2 east, were absolutely amazing to me. Every single time I was admitted to this hospital, I was treated with the upmost dignity and respect. A lot of people sit here and say a lot about this hospital, but please keep in mind it is a behavioral health hospital, it will be boring, and it won’t be the most fun place on earth. It is a safe place for so many of us to get help, as a teenager looking in every direction for somebody to help her with her severe bpd, they helped me, they were the only hospital to actually openly listen to me and everything I was going through, be thorough with my medications, and discharge instructions & recommendations. In 1 west there are so many staff I will very well remember for the rest of my life, so many staff I remember even though now I am almost 20 years old.
Staff who made a difference in every single day for the rest of my life. I trusted this hospital with my life and they are the one hospital who succeeded at taking care of me and making me feel comfortable. I could sit here and list names, but those who made a difference know exactly who they are in my life. I have now been in bpd remission since October 2024 and have not been admitted to tuckers since then. I am thriving in life now due to some of the skills these safe gave me after repeatedly giving me a warm welcome back when I needed the extra support. 1 west and 3 east both get a special shoutout for being overall superior and having some of the best staff on both units for adults & adolescents. Obviously some people will have things to say, like I said this is a behavioral health unit, but Tuckers never failed to go above and beyond for me when I was in some of the worst moments & crisis of my life. Years later I am grateful for Tuckers and their intervention in my life. I hope those staff remember my name too. All love always ~ Lanie🤍

My experience at New Life Christian Retreat Center was truly memorable. The location is stunning, exuding peace and tranquility. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. Virginia is ranked 12th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56,456.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Virginia vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Virginia. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Virginia that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Virginia.
UnitedHealth Group is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Virginia, with 185 treatment centers in the state accepting their insurance. Aetna is the 2nd most popular with 180 treatment centers accepting it followed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in 3rd accepted by 168 drug rehabs.
