My experience at New Life Christian Retreat Center was truly memorable. The location is stunning, exuding peace and tranquility. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been going here for 6 now. When BHG took over the old clinic, River City, there were growing pains as any company has going through a takeover. Then the pandemic happens during the takeover. Staff was leaving left & right because patients blamed them for literally EVERTHING. The patients refused to see the bigger picture and wanted to blame staff for following the pandemic rules. BHG was the only clinic in RVA excepting new patients during the pandemic because they genuinely want to SAVE LIVES! Somehow so many patients complained about so many new patients holding up lines. Anyway, with all of that being said, I’ve seen staff come & go BUT THE STAFF THEY HAVE NOW IS SO CARING & want nothing but THE best for us!!! Dr. Swainey is so down to earth once you see how much he relates to us, you’ll have so much respect for his compassion to help us that are stuck in this awful cycle. I could write a book on how much I’ve grown to adore the staff & they ALL deserve the absolute best in life. Every single one of them have played a part in my new outlook of life and I owe that to them. <3

i’ve been going to this clinic for over a year and i have truly enjoyed making the relationships that i have with everyone who works there. they actually care about your well-being, you’re never just a number. i feel like the kind souls who work here really do put their all into everyone who steps foot in their door. my counselor, lindsey, is amazing and has helped me so much. i have never once felt judgement or disdain from her or anybody else there. i feel confident when i tell people about BHG because i know that they extend a warm welcome to everybody, regardless of the circumstances. thank you for making recovery possible. ❤️

I moved into the Avalon house about 8 months ago. It has really become a home to me. There is a lot of women in one home but we all manage to get along rather well. The Avalon house has been a safe , supportive, clean environment. We operate similar to the Oxford model in that we hold one another accountable. Anastasia is a hands on housing manager but she gives you the room you need to be an adult and make the decisions for your recovery that you feel are right. If you follow the rules, and prove to her that you’re trustworthy then she affords you that trust and she is understanding. I truly believe that Avalon is one of the main reasons that I’ve been successful in my recovery thus far.
It’s imperative in early recovery to surround one’s self with like minded people and Avalon is absolutely a home that you will find the resources you need to grow and thrive into the person you want to be. I absolutely suggest this home to anyone that is willing to put in the work to live a sober life. It’s all about what we put into it that determines what we get out of it.

I was admitted to the hospital back on 9/23 and I was very ill. I don't think that I have ever been that sick. The level of care that I received was beyond exceptional. From Dr. Rizk and his PA Peyton as well as nurses Jenna and Timon I felt like I was in the best hands possible. The bedside manner was amazing by all so I apologize if I don't remember every name. I've been to the ER since I moved to Richmond two years ago and the staff at this hospital is absolutely hands down the most caring hospital staff I've ever encountered from the receptionist to the nurses, doctors xray techs etc... I struggled with addiction for many years currently I just got my 2 year anniversary for being clean. I have dealt with numerous hospitals and staff which always was judging and short and never really got the treatment that I was there for which I can understand them not understanding addiction and substance use disorder but the staff here are understanding and they really care the nurse practitioner sat down n talked to me about addiction and my goals in life actually proud he was in me and my wife and it really meant a lot to have genuine conversation wanting to know my story. You don't know what this simple act of kindness does for someone like myself. Thank you all for treating me with true kindness and respect. I'll pay it forward to the next person that might need the same act of kindness you gave me

I have had breast cancer for four years and had a really long hard journey. I live in another city so I was mostly treated there, but I chose Spotsylvania to have my reconstructive surgeries. What a wonderful experience I have had! Every nurse and doctor have been so attentive and on top of my care. My treatments have caused me to be a high maintenance patient - it’s difficult to find veins on me for IVs after chemo because my veins are always collapsing. They can’t do anything on my right side because of lymph nodes. I’m anemic and have heart problem and I get insanely nauseous on anesthesia. But they listened when I told them what protocols worked for me and were 100% on it. I never had to ask for anything - they were ahead of my pain and nausea and I woke up so comfortable and feeling amazing. They had to work hard during my surgery to keep me asleep because my vein kept collapsing on them but they managed it beautifully. The anesthesia team and surgical nurses were just amazing. The care and attention is above and beyond and I couldn’t be more grateful . I wish I could remember everyone’s names in order to thank them individually . But you know who you are - I’m the high maintenance red head who had a breast reconstruction this Friday. Thank you all very much. Yalll are a top shelf team and I could not have been cared to better. Thank you all!

True Recovery changed my life entirely. I could never repay them for lending me the strength and guidance I couldnt find in myself at the time. I'm very impressed with their ABA therapy. We are just a few months in and it has already been life-changing. We went from my autistic son being hospitalized constantly due to his behavior which we couldn't control. Now we are able to manage him and we are able to manage him. Still a long ways to go but I'm sure with them we will succeed. Do not hesitate to use them.

I've been going here for 6months and before that I was at the VA. There's a few differences between them both but most of all I can tell the Care. I have had 2 Counselors which is understandable considering the work load they have. Since the begining I have been happy and impressed how easy they made my transferring. I started just where I left off at the VA.The only thing I don't agree with or understand is when getting an increase u have to pick up for 3days before getting ur tak homes. I can understand this policy when u a starting out. But it doesn't make much sense after that. I can also say when there was a problem with my pick up (ther Mistake) my councler fixed and had all my bottles in 30mins. All I can say is If u work the program it works. Thank you

I love my counselor here at Pinnacle treatment center FCCR Radford. I feely counselor Lauren is amazing she's does everything she can possibly do for. Shes supplies me with wonderful advice, wonderful resources and everything else a counselor should do. My panic attacks got to such a bad point that she gave me her cell phone number in case I need to message or call when I need her. FCCR RADFORD SAVED MY LIFE!!!

This is the only MAT program clinicnive ever been to but they have been amazing. If you are serious about your recovery they most definitely are going to help you. I've had a couple friends go to other clinics and from what was said FCCR is more strict and that's so important. Especially if you are serious about your recovery and do really want to better yourself and your life. The office staff is amazing there. The nurses are wonderful. I've had 3 different counselors due to 2 of them moving on to better their lives, but every counselor I have had has been wonderful. Very helpful. Easy to talk to. Thank you FCCR for being there and helping me better myself and my life. "It works if you work it"

This place saved my life. I have loved and enjoyed my time at the Mcshin foundation. It truly has changed my life for the better without this place. I would still be living the same lifestyle that I was living before they have the tools and the know how to teach you how to live a life better than the one you were living before I would recommend any person on the face of this earth to this program The tools I have learned I will carry with me for the rest of my life thankful for the Mcshin foundation and a special shout out to the men’s program Director Grant he is absolutely amazing and what he does it makes Grant has had the biggest impact on me at Mcshin sincerely, Zachary
