Arrowwood has been a great experience. The people here make all the difference. Jamie is EXCELLENT at what he does as an alumni coordinator. He does amazing peer support work. Keegan, Jess, Ms. T, and Ajai are phenomenal group facilitators. Uschell, Joel, Suge, Quan, Claud, Crystal, and Tracy are amazing BHT's. Everyone is so supportive. My experience at New Life Christian Retreat Center was truly memorable. The location is stunning, exuding peace and tranquility. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. I highly recommend this place.

I ve been going here for 6 now. When BHG took over the old clinic, River City, there were growing pains as any company has going through a takeover. Then the pandemic happens during the takeover. Staff was leaving left & right because patients blamed them for literally EVERTHING. The patients refused to see the bigger picture and wanted to blame staff for following the pandemic rules. BHG was the only clinic in RVA excepting new patients during the pandemic because they genuinely want to SAVE LIVES! Somehow so many patients complained about so many new patients holding up lines. Anyway, with all of that being said, I ve seen staff come & go BUT THE STAFF THEY HAVE NOW IS SO CARING & want nothing but THE best for us!!! Dr. Swainey is so down to earth once you see how much he relates to us, you ll have so much respect for his compassion to help us that are stuck in this awful cycle. I could write a book on how much I ve grown to adore the staff & they ALL deserve the absolute best in life. i ve been going to this clinic for over a year and i have truly enjoyed making the relationships that i have with everyone who works there. they actually care about your well-being, you re never just a number. i feel like the kind souls who work here really do put their all into everyone who steps foot in their door. my counselor, lindsey, is amazing and has helped me so much. i have never once felt judgement or disdain from her or anybody else there. i feel confident when i tell people about BHG because i know that they extend a warm welcome to everybody, regardless of the circumstances. thank you for making recovery possible.

I moved into the Avalon house about 8 months ago. It has really become a home to me. There is a lot of women in one home but we all manage to get along rather well. The Avalon house has been a safe , supportive, clean environment. We operate similar to the Oxford model in that we hold one another accountable. Anastasia is a hands on housing manager but she gives you the room you need to be an adult and make the decisions for your recovery that you feel are right. If you follow the rules, and prove to her that you re trustworthy then she affords you that trust and she is understanding. I truly believe that Avalon is one of the main reasons that I ve been successful in my recovery thus far.It s imperative in early recovery to surround one s self with like minded people and Avalon is absolutely a home that you will find the resources you need to grow and thrive into the person you want to be. We went from my autistic son being hospitalized constantly due to his behavior which we couldn't control. Now we are able to manage him and we are able to manage him. The groups and the therapists (even if at first believe they aren't worth your time) are absolutely amazing!!!Katie Fields is the best therapist i have ever had. Katie and Kylie facilitate the DBT groups and without the DBT skills i learned i would have never been able to stay sober (after years of constant relapse). I also was in Danielle's Thursday night S.A. group was also extremely helpful in my journey in sobriety. Every therapist has different approaches, but every single one of them will never give-up on you even when you want to give-up on yourself. I've been going here for 6months and before that I was at the VA. There's a few differences between them both but most of all I can tell the Care. I have had 2 Counselors which is understandable considering the work load they have. Since the begining I have been happy and impressed how easy they made my transferring. I started just where I left off at the VA.The only thing I don't agree with or understand is when getting an increase u have to pick up for 3days before getting ur tak homes. I can understand this policy when u a starting out. But it doesn't make much sense after that. I can also say when there was a problem with my pick up (ther Mistake) my councler fixed and had all my bottles in 30mins. All I can say is If u work the program it works. Thank you

This is the only MAT program clinicnive ever been to but they have been amazing. If you are serious about your recovery they most definitely are going to help you. I've had a couple friends go to other clinics and from what was said FCCR is more strict and that's so important. Especially if you are serious about your recovery and do really want to better yourself and your life. The office staff is amazing there. The nurses are wonderful. I've had 3 different counselors due to 2 of them moving on to better their lives, but every counselor I have had has been wonderful. Very helpful. Easy to talk to. Thank you FCCR for being there and helping me better myself and my life. "It works if you work it"

I was just discharged yesterday after staying two days for having my gallbladder removed and I just want to express from the nurses to the surgical staff to even the janitorial staff was exceptional! Everyone was so friendly and made me feel so welcome. This was my first surgery ever and I want to thank the entire surgical staff that helped reassure me everything would be fine and shout out to my surgeon Dr. Basker who worked me into his surgery schedule that day. Went into the Emergency Room for chest Pain, Was admitted stayed to total of four days. From the emergency to the time i Left the Hospital they did Nothing But Take Great Care of me.
