The program offered an array of therapies, challenged her ideas about food, and enabled her to build a healthy relationship with food. The duration was just over 6 weeks and over that time we saw healthy habits being formed. We especially appreciate Jenny and Ava, who were welcoming and accommodating when we visited and always supportive of our daughter’s needs. The medical staff were professional and understanding of their role in supporting her progression while keeping us informed. Mary the dietitian and Heather the therapist kept us in the loop and prepared us for the transition home. Ainsley provided structured education activities throughout the program. The ultimate decider for our family was how accommodating Center for Discovery was with our daughter’s food allergies. She had separate small appliances, pans, refrigerator, and dry storage space to prevent cross-contamination. During outings, the staff ensured safe options were available and taught our daughter ways to approach eating at restaurants with significant allergy considerations. I have learned so much here than I have in any other treatment. CFD helped me fix my body image issues and helped my exercise addiction and I was able to find other activities to enjoy besides those. All the staff here are absolutely amazing and so kind. I love you Sebastian, Lydia, nurse ester, and Sarah. I had a therapist switch in the middle of treatment but my new therapist was still able to provide an amazing experience at CFD and helped me so much. CFD is great and the treatment is very personalized with your own personal meal plan and after a while you can prep your own meals and go on walks. My favorite thing was going out and going on exposures to help me. All my peers were amazing and always so helpful. The staff is so kind and respectful. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years! Attending PHP and IOP here has truly been one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made, and I can genuinely say that this place helped save my life. But the staff here met me where I was, showed me compassion when I needed it most, and reminded me that recovery is possible—even on the days when I couldn’t believe it myself.
