My journey started there. Many great counselors. A couple of them really should find another career, but nobody is perfect. I still believe they do there best.
I urge anyone who is in need of help to call. I am very grateful to them. Addiction is fatal when untreated. The good news is early recovery is temporary as well as painful.
Thank you

Fairfax, VA | This residential eating disorder treatment program is for adolescents aged 10 through 18. The program offered an array of therapies, challenged her ideas about food, and enabled her to build a healthy relationship with food. The duration was just over 6 weeks and over that time we saw healthy habits being formed. We especially appreciate Jenny and Ava, who were welcoming and accommodating when we visited and always supportive of our daughter’s needs. The medical staff were professional and understanding of their role in supporting her progression while keeping us informed. Mary the dietitian and Heather the therapist kept us in the loop and prepared us for the transition home. Ainsley provided structured education activities throughout the program. The ultimate decider for our family was how accommodating Center for Discovery was with our daughter’s food allergies. She had separate small appliances, pans, refrigerator, and dry storage space to prevent cross-contamination. During outings, the staff ensured safe options were available and taught our daughter ways to approach eating at restaurants with significant allergy considerations.
We would absolutely recommend the Center for Discovery to any young person struggling with an eating disorder.

CFD saved my life I have battled an Ed for 2 years now and since coming here and just leaving my life has been turned upside down for the better. I have learned so much here than I have in any other treatment. CFD helped me fix my body image issues and helped my exercise addiction and I was able to find other activities to enjoy besides those. All the staff here are absolutely amazing and so kind. I love you Sebastian, Lydia, nurse ester, and Sarah. I had a therapist switch in the middle of treatment but my new therapist was still able to provide an amazing experience at CFD and helped me so much. CFD is great and the treatment is very personalized with your own personal meal plan and after a while you can prep your own meals and go on walks. My favorite thing was going out and going on exposures to help me. All my peers were amazing and always so helpful. The staff is so kind and respectful. You can also go on walks once you reach medical stability. Highly recommend CFD.

I had a great experience and this was my 4th treatment center. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years!

I honestly don’t know where I would be today without this recovery center. Attending PHP and IOP here has truly been one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made, and I can genuinely say that this place helped save my life.
When I came here, I was struggling in ways that are difficult to put into words. I wasn’t sure what my future was going to look like, and I didn’t know if I had it in me to keep fighting. But the staff here met me where I was, showed me compassion when I needed it most, and reminded me that recovery is possible—even on the days when I couldn’t believe it myself.
I especially want to recognize Mary, Josh, Brittany, Ifadel, Janina, Heather, Kevin, Brittany and Fredricko. Each of you has made an impact on me in your own way, and I will forever be grateful for the time, patience, encouragement, and genuine care you’ve shown me. You didn’t just treat me like another patient—you treated me like a person who mattered.
This experience has given me tools, perspective, hope, and most importantly, a reason to keep moving forward. I still have work to do, but I’m not the same person who walked through those doors.
To everyone at this recovery center: thank you for helping me find my way back to myself. I will never forget what you’ve done for me.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to every doctor, nurse, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, and staff member who cared for my beloved mom during her stay at VHC Health Arlington from June 14 until she peacefully passed away on July 8.
My dad and I stayed by my mom’s side every single day throughout her hospitalization. We witnessed extraordinary compassion, kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of your team. During the most heartbreaking time of our lives, you didn’t just care for my mom , you cared for our entire family. You comforted us, answered our questions, and made us feel supported every step of the way.
A very special thank you goes to Dr. Malik. We will never forget your kindness compassion, patience, and the time you spent with us. You answered every question we had with kindness and helped us understand what was best for my mom. You guided us through incredibly difficult decisions with honesty, empathy, and respect. Your support meant more than words can express.
I would also like to recognize Nurse Karim on the 3rd Floor, Room 329. Your kindness, gentle care, and compassion brought so much comfort to my mom and to our family. We will always remember the respect and dignity with which you cared for her.
A very heartfelt thank you to Nurse Nhien, who was with us on the day my mom passed away. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, your kindness, compassion, and gentle presence brought us so much comfort. We will never forget your warmth and the peace you brought to us that day.
To every nurse who cared for my mom on the third floor thank you. Whether you worked during the day or overnight, every one of you treated my mom with kindness, love, dignity, and respect. You made sure she was comfortable, spoke to her with compassion, and cared for her as if she were your own family. You also took the time to comfort my dad and me, and that is something we will never forget.
Thank you to every physician, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, housekeeping staff, and everyone behind the scenes. Every one of you played a role in making my mom’s final days peaceful and surrounded by compassionate care.
Although losing my mom has been the greatest heartbreak of my life, I find comfort knowing she was cared for by such extraordinary people.
The third floor, especially Room 329, will always hold a special place in my heart. It became much more than a hospital room it became a place where my mom was surrounded by love, dignity, compassion, and exceptional care during the final chapter of her life. My dad my brother my sister law and I spent every day there with her, I stayed every night with my mom and those memories, along with the incredible people we met, will stay with us forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring for my mom and for caring for us. Your compassion made an unbearable time a little easier, and my family will be forever grateful.
May God bless each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every day. You are truly angels in scrubs, and we will never forget you.🙏❤️

They are the best substance abuse help i have ever had, and I have had my share. They always take care of me. They listen to me and its not just a cookie cut type of style where one style fits all its what fits me. I love it and I will always come here even when I'm done with my meds. Maybel always makes me laugh and it messes with my blood pressure all the time (that's my excuse). Dona always has on fresh kicks and I'm jealous. Stephanie will always make sure I'm good, making sure I take care of my self. She really cares which is rare in my experience. Fatima digs and makes me deal when I don't want when I know I need to.
