Arrowwood has been a great experience. The people here make all the difference. Jamie is EXCELLENT at what he does as an alumni coordinator. He does amazing peer support work. Keegan, Jess, Ms. T, and Ajai are phenomenal group facilitators. Uschell, Joel, Suge, Quan, Claud, Crystal, and Tracy are amazing BHT's. Everyone is so supportive. I've been going here for 6months and before that I was at the VA. There's a few differences between them both but most of all I can tell the Care. I have had 2 Counselors which is understandable considering the work load they have. Since the begining I have been happy and impressed how easy they made my transferring. I started just where I left off at the VA.The only thing I don't agree with or understand is when getting an increase u have to pick up for 3days before getting ur tak homes. I can understand this policy when u a starting out. But it doesn't make much sense after that. I can also say when there was a problem with my pick up (ther Mistake) my councler fixed and had all my bottles in 30mins. All I can say is If u work the program it works. Thank you

This is the only MAT program clinicnive ever been to but they have been amazing. If you are serious about your recovery they most definitely are going to help you. I've had a couple friends go to other clinics and from what was said FCCR is more strict and that's so important. Especially if you are serious about your recovery and do really want to better yourself and your life. The office staff is amazing there. The nurses are wonderful. I've had 3 different counselors due to 2 of them moving on to better their lives, but every counselor I have had has been wonderful. Very helpful. Easy to talk to. Thank you FCCR for being there and helping me better myself and my life. "It works if you work it"

I ve been going here for 6 now. When BHG took over the old clinic, River City, there were growing pains as any company has going through a takeover. Then the pandemic happens during the takeover. Staff was leaving left & right because patients blamed them for literally EVERTHING. The patients refused to see the bigger picture and wanted to blame staff for following the pandemic rules. BHG was the only clinic in RVA excepting new patients during the pandemic because they genuinely want to SAVE LIVES! Somehow so many patients complained about so many new patients holding up lines. Anyway, with all of that being said, I ve seen staff come & go BUT THE STAFF THEY HAVE NOW IS SO CARING & want nothing but THE best for us!!! Dr. Swainey is so down to earth once you see how much he relates to us, you ll have so much respect for his compassion to help us that are stuck in this awful cycle. I could write a book on how much I ve grown to adore the staff & they ALL deserve the absolute best in life. Every single one of them have played a part in my new outlook of life and I owe that to them. <3

i ve been going to this clinic for over a year and i have truly enjoyed making the relationships that i have with everyone who works there. they actually care about your well-being, you re never just a number. i feel like the kind souls who work here really do put their all into everyone who steps foot in their door. my counselor, lindsey, is amazing and has helped me so much. i have never once felt judgement or disdain from her or anybody else there. i feel confident when i tell people about BHG because i know that they extend a warm welcome to everybody, regardless of the circumstances. thank you for making recovery possible.

My first night was terrible, I came in full crisis and I was just put into a room. After I was moved to Tuckers it was better, nurses and techs were amazing.Night staff needs to be more considerate, conversating at patient doorways at 2am.Otherwise I was treated with respect and I got what I needed while I was there.

Tuckers saved my life twice. I was treated with respect by everyone and some of the staff showed me empathy when I needed it. The techs were especially awesome and I know they are doing it to help people because the pay isn't amazing or anything. I also had coexisting substance abuse issues and they made arrangements for me to goto treatment when I got out, both times.

McShin is a special place. No place will fix you if you aren't 100% committed to fixing yourself. A major part of recovery is realizing that what we had done before was not working and we are the person that is most in the way of our recovery. With that being said, if you are committed to your recovery The McShin Foundation is a great place to help you get back on your feet and help you learn how to live your life in your recovery from addiction. Part of the beauty of their program is that you can progress at your own pace. I stayed in their sober living program until I felt ready and that was great for me. No place is perfect, but McShin is a very special place.

Linda literally keeps me sane and alive. I swear I have never been treated more like a human being than at this place under Linda’s Care. She listens to me and actually cares. Over the years I’ve grown used to being treated like the next inconvenience or crazy person to deal with. Silenced, unheard, unhelped. Just slapped with another diagnosis and told to take these pills and like it. Not here. Here I feel safe and seen. I’ve dropped half the meds I use to be on and she actually activity helps treat my symptoms and even took away bogus diagnoses. I feel like a human being with her. My experience at New Life Christian Retreat Center was truly memorable. The location is stunning, exuding peace and tranquility. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. I highly recommend this place.

The staff(counselors) is amazing, they are always willing to help you. Some even takes their personal time, off work, to help you knowing that they are not getting paid. I can honestly say, from my personal experience, that many of these counselors really wants to help you do better for yourself. They really want to see you succeed in life. I can say that I am not an easy person to deal with sometimes and they have not nor will not give up on me, and they won t give up on you!! I really consider some of them as family. Recently I have been going through a really tough time, personal and financial crisis, and they have been there for me every step of the way. This one counselor even went out of their way and paid my phone and light bill to relieve me of some stress and she told me not to pay her back.She took her own money to help me out something that she didn t have to do at all. Also every since that day she has paid my phone bill to help me provide and take care of my nieces and nephews. Basically what I m trying to say is that I appreciate and thankful for this place. I also wanted to let everyone know how amazing this particular clinic is and to tell everyone that they will stand behind you all the way through this program and anything else that you need help with.

I moved into the Avalon house about 8 months ago. It has really become a home to me. There is a lot of women in one home but we all manage to get along rather well. The Avalon house has been a safe , supportive, clean environment. We operate similar to the Oxford model in that we hold one another accountable. Anastasia is a hands on housing manager but she gives you the room you need to be an adult and make the decisions for your recovery that you feel are right. If you follow the rules, and prove to her that you re trustworthy then she affords you that trust and she is understanding. It's just the reality of the situation, but I have never found more genuine care and support than I do at this place. They're going to help pick you back up and get you back on track. Ms. Jane Ann and some of the other staff there are like family to me and I wouldn't be here without them . Recovery is hard, but if you're willing to do your part and make at least an effort, they will be there till the end

This past week, we had scheduled an intervention for one of our family members. While I was not the one who coordinated it, Sam still showed what a true professional is and guided everyone in the right direction. Not only did he educate us on how to interact, but he advised us to use certain words/phrases which was a tremendous amount of help. He stays with you through the entire process and is always there if you need. Even though the family member was tough on Sam, he kept his professionalism and was able to guide him to treatment. Sam saved my uncles life, who was given a year to live and refused to get help until we had an intervention. Sam s 93% success rate is no joke. If you have a family member struggling with addiction don t look anywhere else, bring Sam in to help.We got in touch with Sam and he was willing to come hold an intervention the next day. As a family, we decided to wait a week so that we could coordinate everything and find a bed. Sam, let us know the process, met with our family the night before the intervention and had my uncle into rehab the same day.Sam took the time to understand the situation, provide empathy to our family but most importantly told us and my uncle the truth even if it was hard for us to hear.
