My experience was up and down here at first, mainly just because I was struggling mentally, emotionally and legally with my substance abuse problem. I didn’t want to bend or conform to the ways this facility was trying to make me, but they weren’t trying to make me do anything. All they wanted to do was help me. And thankfully after almost 10 years of addiction this lovely staff going out of their way to get to know me personally and help me to the best of their abilities. Now I've been clean for 15 months and counting and could not have done it without this facility or its staff. Big thanks to Mr. Tim, all the counselors including my own, Deon and Von and also Support staff like Yoyo, Everis, Tyla and so on including all the friends I made along the way creating important friendships and relationships along the way. I’ve been to MANY other treatment facilities in my life but never to a place that was so dedicated to helping me get better as Fishing Point

When my family member checked in it seemed like a good place until they staff started treating him any kind of way, I had to call up there because they said they didn't have his medicine when they supposed to have ordered I'm sure before he ran out, then magically after I called his medicine appeared and then which was even crazy is when my fiance talked to one of the staff members and I even heard the conversation myself that he was allowed to come back because he had to go to his sons graduation so he was told that he could come back and finish the remainder of the program which he was supposed to do 90 days all together. So he spoke to the staff about it but they said he had to be discharge but he was allowed to come because of a incident that happened so they didn't allow people to go over night which is understandable but he was told that he would able to come back but when he came back they told him that since he was discharged that he couldn't come back into the inpatient program so it was miss communication because he was told one thing and it was another when he had gotten back and not only that even though this discharged I would assume programs like that would set you up with a plan and resources that would help you after you are discharged from the program and also whatever medicine you are taking in there they order them and give you what you were taking so they pretty much kicked him to the curb with no discharge plan or no resources to even help him get back on his feet and they didn't even give him any medicine after leaving which would help him not relapse, only thing the man oftened him was that he was allowed to come to group meetinga few times a week, which i dont know how that would work since he wouldn't even be able to get to them because he didn't even have a place to go after they told him that he could not come back in. This place supposed to help you but instead they seem like they do not care and they just throw you out with no help and no place to go. I would not recommend anyone to come here because most of the staff are unprofessional and they don't even care a bit about helping people there.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients who are in early recovery, leaving detox, or experiencing a crisis often require the intensive treatment of an inpatient rehab facility. Clients in inpatient care receive robust clinical supervision, housing, and meals, allowing them to focus exclusively on their recovery while they stabilize. The primary treatment modalities used in most inpatient centers include extensive addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many drug rehabs also offer holistic therapies, such as music, art, fitness, and experiential therapies.

Treatments

Virginia provides substance abuse treatment for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. These programs incorporate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. With a variety of treatment options available, including outpatient, inpatient, and residential programs, you can find personalized care to support you in achieving sobriety and learning the skills to maintain long-term recovery.

Programs

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

When men and women in Virginia participate in group therapy sessions, they learn to freely express their emotions in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and begin to understand the link between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are associated with addictive behavior.

Men and women in Virginia use individual therapy to focus on addiction related challenges as a necessary part of their drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Your therapist guides you in developing coping strategies, setting realistic goals, and building a strong foundation for an improved quality of life.

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Virginia is a short term form of talk therapy. Participants usually have homework between sessions, which may include journaling, self talk, and setting SMART goals. The aim is to transform negative thought patterns into positive ones.

For those experiencing mental health challenges, including substance use disorder, dialectical behavior therapy in Virginia offers an evidence based method of treatment. This therapy teaches skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal relations so you can break free from negative patterns.

Trauma therapy helps you understand and manage the emotional and physical responses that often follow witnessing or experiencing traumatic events. Using therapeutic interventions, your therapist works with you to reframe that experience, which in turn reduces your anxiety and helps you regain control over your life.
