Avenue’s has been great to me. I never seen recovery as a real possibility and every single time I “attempted” to get clean, it was for external reasons. Avenue’s helped me to set boundaries for myself and to actually put myself first. There are a bunch of great staff members here, especially on the clinical side. Shout out to Jessica, and my counselor Danell. He really helped me navigate through my trauma and showed me that I’m actually worth living a good life. I really appreciate the fact that I had no direction before Avenue’s, now I’ve set myself up to not only have a successful recovery but a successful life all together. The upstairs rooms are very nice and the food isn’t too bad. Only recommendation is to have some alternatives for breakfast instead of having to eat the same breakfast for 60 days. As far as recovery and rehabilitation goes, this is the place to find yourself. I have reconnected with my higher power and now after 60 days in treatment, my entire mentality and way of life has changed.

07/12/24 I almost died from Pancreatitis from my drinking. It’s a scary thing checking yourself in to a place like that. I was welcomed with open arms. The first person to sit down and talk to me one on one, pick my brain if you will before I started classes was Mr. Bill from RSS and Big Dan one of the instructors there. And Miss Holly big shout out to her for helping me get my meal plan back together I was a bodybuilder. Big Dan always talked with intensity and passion as a former addict. I had a recent bender and the first thing that happened when I walked in I shook Mr. Bills hand said long time no see, no judgement he said you hungry and fed me. Next day saw Big Dan with guilt I said I’m sorry I’m back but I’m happy to see you. We got talking a bit I sat down in the very first class I had with him and it was so raw and real, vulnerable even about his experiences. I hope this review does good for people looking for help. And I help they all see this knowing how much good they truly give to people and help they give to the world. From the last time I was there the amount my life changed has been leaps and bounds for the best. I recognized I made an error I immediately sought help. Got it immediately and can’t wait to never go back, but also to see how much farther I’ll go and achieve after this experience for the better.

Brace Bridge Hall was truly a wonderful place. The staff made me feel cared for every step of the way — they were not only professional, but also kind, supportive, and understanding. I’m so grateful for everything they did for me. Most of all I remain sober by the grace of God.

Just finished a twenty eight day program this week. Ashley, the staff, PSAs (especially Gavin) helped me to finally grasp the severity of my disease and my spiritual condition. They took personal interest in me and helped stop me from leaving despite me being a little “difficult” 😆 I will always be grateful for Ashley, for giving me the ability to even say the word grateful, which is a miracle in itself.

I’ve been in 7 short n long term programs in Baltimore City with my wife Amanda. She passed away September 17th 2024 at 33yrs old. I was not just lost, broken hopeless n suicidal but much worse because the love of my life was gone forever. I thought I’d accepted it was the end for me n that there was no God. Being at my worst i found Amanda was still guiding me even when I didn’t know it. Today I can say she helped me find MRP n put some of the best people in my life. I am so very grateful for Maryland recovery n the amazing clinical staff Alex,Kim,Doug, Brittany, Crystal, April,Laura, Carrie, Jessica and Stephanie. They not just did their jobs to the highest standard as well as showed me dignity and respect while doing it. They all gave me what I wanted n needed to want to live life again, setting me up for success, giving me a solid foundation like I never had before. The PSA’s Matt, Hayden ,Big Drew, Jeff,Paul, both Lisa’s and Nikki literally made me feel like I was not just a person but part of a big “recovery”family that truly cared about me , my needs and wants. They all took the time to get to know me, guide me and shared very helpful personal stories about themselves or someone they knew that has or was going through something like i was. I didn’t feel different or alone anymore but part of something bigger. I can honestly say i see things in all of them that id like to see in myself one day as i continue to grow and move forward in life. I see them all as my friends and leaders in recovery and life. Ive done more in the last 30days at MRP than ive done in the last 10 yrs of my life. THANK YOU for helping save my life. If you’re struggling with addiction and mental health issues, MRP is the best place to go to for a recovery and set you up for continued success.Just be willing and i swear everything else will fall into place!!!.

I am writing in high praise for the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center (MARC), its staff and its co-founder and Executive Director Sam Bierman. Our daughter is now completing the program and is in her ninth month of sobriety through these collective efforts and the perseverance of our daughter. MARC not only cares deeply for individuals in its programs, but also family members as well—through family counseling and updates that offer great compassion, understanding and peace. MARC has my highest recommendation. It has saved our daughter; she has saved herself through this excellent program. As a writer and career journalist, I know excellence when I see it…

not a bad place, really helped me find a community that i could relate and connect with. i ended up AMA-ing for my own reasons. with these places, there’s always room for improvement, i think there could’ve been a lot more to do and get engaged in in residence, i wish we had movie nights or kareoke for example. and i wish the woman’s group didn’t feel so…misogynistic? just felt like everything we did was very girly? the best i can put it ig. idk i found myself watching a lot of TV because of how little there was to do. if you’re looking for somewhere serene, you won’t find it here, BUT i think if you come in with an open mind, and do what you need to do, and DONT get caught up in other clients, you can find a lot of peace in sobriety. remember what you came for. (it’s you) goodluck in there! be nice to the TA’s too, they DO care about you. i want to shoutout some of my favroite people, i think most of them have left, but GOD i miss y’all. Mike James, ur the bald G.O.A.T Riley, i freaking love your emo alien ass Carmen, you were like a mother to me Camilo, i still check to see how my bones are feeling, you really helped me a lot. Charlie, you are just awesome i still have the fallout sticker you didn’t want. Greg, MY REHAB DAD I LOVE YOU, thanks for that dope hike that one time. Katie, i loved watching movies with you, you’re the best. Kerianne, the best therapist i think i’ve ever had, she CARES. Jackie, i wish we had more conversations, you’re so dope and to anyone else i might be forgetting, THANK YOU!! i love you guys so much.

If you’re looking for a place that actually treats addiction like the chronic, complex, identity-dismantling condition it is, MARC is it. They take time, care, and effort, offering long-term care that dares to go beyond the hope of a 28-day radical transformation. The staff really knows what they’re doing, and they manage to be both clinicians and humans. It’s rare to find a program this ethical, compassionate, and effective. I couldn’t recommend MARC more!

I would like to know with those who are new admissions, in the enrolling process that don’t have transportation and stay in BaltimoreCity and would like to only attend the Hagerstown location does TruHealingHagerstown supply those people with transportation or they have to find their own way of transportation there? Also, I would like to know about the employment availability in Hagerstown? Once there will I be able to find employment? Do TruHealingHagerstown has connections or information of employers willing to hire those who want to work or there is a amount of time that has to completed without error or replased in the TruHealingHagerstown before you are even able to work?

Hi my name is Ronald and I am writing this review to recognize Lisa Stainaker and Katelynn Marshall for all of the dedicated also the hard work that they have given to me throughout my alcohol recovery process. Lisa and Katelynn have always answered my emails and phone calls immediately subsequently they have been such a great help and inspiration towards my alcohol recovery.. They both seem to have great memories about subjects on which we have discussed about me as an individual and matters about my relationships with my family. All the conversations that I had with them reassured to me that I was in a safe place when discussing my issues with them and that the confidentiality would not be broken. They both are very supportive with any concerns that I might have had. Lisa was always listening and even shared some of her life experiences with me which made me feel like she could definitely understand.me.Lisa is definitely a consonant professional at what she does. Her knowledge, wisdom, inspiration and caring is amazing. Katelynn has never let me down, she has always answered all of my questions with her knowledge and experience. Katelynn is a very good listener and a extremely good communicator. She has always checked on my welfare to see if I needed anything. Katelynn has advised of each step of this process and what to expect without missing a beat. Lisa and Katelynn have been very instrumental in my recovery in letting me know that I matter first above all other people or issues. I feel that when I first reached out for help with my alcoholism they supported me every step of the way. I am SOBER and with their assistance my sobriety will remain in tact. They both are very professional in what they do, trust me on that. When KOLMAC hired those two I believe KOLMAC hit the jack pot. I continue to participate in the Continued Care program and I feel great again.

Kolmac is a truly wonderful place to work. Their mission aligns closely with my core values as a client-centered clinician, and I feel grateful every day to be part of it. I absolutely love my Towson team and feel lucky to work alongside such compassionate, dedicated people who are genuinely here to help others. It’s not just the clinicians who make Kolmac special—the entire staff leads with heart, from our PAS team to the medical staff to outreach. Everyone plays a role in creating a supportive and caring environment. If you are struggling and looking for support on your journey, I highly recommend starting here. We can’t wait to work with you and be a part of your story.

I had a very scary and unexpected trip by ambulance to Harbor last week. I was very impressed with the ER nurse who took care of me. Lovely blonde lady from New Mexico, it was around midnight. She had me in a room quickly and kept me calm throughout the experience. Unbelievably nice. Explained everything. Showed me a lot of dignity as a patient. I was admitted and was equally impressed with my nurse (from Howard County – Melissa or Nicole maybe?!) who cared for me as well as the CNA’s who were so sweet. I received great care. I requested a room change due to noise and was accommodated. Doctors didn’t engage with me very much but that’s ok, the nursing staff had it! The sonographer and her student were very kind and gentle as well. The Radiologist (John?) was so kind and reassuring and nice.

This place saved my life! From the time I walked through the door just three days after my suicide attempt I felt SAFE and with folks who understood what was going on. Once home I realized that I wasn’t 100%. After three weeks home I returned on my own. Today I can proudly say that I have helped several others enjoy the life after The Hog! I am still in contact with many of the staff members who I call family. Don’t ever feel like getting help is a weakness. The HoG is awesome!

The Harbor of Grace helped me gain valuable tools to help with my depression and SI. The staff taught me that it is OK to not be ok and that it is more than acceptable to ask for help in a time of crisis. I would recommend that any first responder going through a difficult time with eother substance abuse or mental health issues to buy in to your own treatment and allow Harbor of Grace to assist you in that treatment.

From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. It wasn’t just “do this, follow that”—they actually asked what worked for me. Big win. I got my head clear, my heart a little lighter, and finally feel like I’m not stuck anymore 🎧.

MD Rehab Specialists got me right from the jump, no BS. They kept it real and didn’t sugarcoat the struggle but also showed mad respect for where I was at. The crew there made me feel like I wasn’t just another number—they actually cared. The vibe was chill but focused, with counselors who spoke my language and didn’t act like they were above me. They helped me see that change was possible and had my back every step of the way. If you want a place that keeps it 100 and helps you get your life back, this is it.

I can’t express in words, how much of a great and compassionate person the owner Pete is. He’s a very stand up guy, when I had a problem that conflicted with my hours of school (I’m doing remote from 9:30am-4:30pm). Pete went out of his way to make sure, I could still attend my groups virtually from their IOP residential home during the evenings. When the house manager said I couldn’t do this, Pete went and made some calls to accommodate me, so I could get the help I needed while also being able to pursue my dreams in getting a job in IT support. Thanks Pete 😊 🫂 🙏. If you’re in need of assistance they are very welcoming at the office aswell. The front desk assistant Hunter was very supportive and understanding of my situation any questions I had she answered promptly and kindly. They offered drinks and food to us while we did our intake an everything. I truly appreciate 🙏 and recommend them to anyone in need of stability while trying to get clean or stay sober. They will provide transportation also to and from there office. Hope’s Horizon and their sister company Atom is one of the best rehabilitation centers out there 💯👍. Just go and find out for yourself 🚕🏃‍♂️

I literally owe my life to Hope’s Horizon and all of the amazing staff there. Getting sober is one of the hardest things to do. It’s a complete reset of your life. It gets a little less difficult each day, but it’s never easy. I couldn’t have done it without everyone there though. I definitely recommend Hopes Horizon if you’ve finally decided that you’re done living the same hell every day. They’ll help you every step of the way, but you have to want it and you have to work for it. IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN (EVEN YOU!) Thank you Hope’s Horizon! I would have never made it home to Cali with my family without you all!

Hi.My name is gary and I would like to share my experience at hopehouse. On the 12th of January, I will have been successfully sober for 6 years. Jeff, who no longer works there was my counselor, but he was just one of many counselors that really help get you through this difficult moment in your life. If you really have made the decision you want to become sober, then hope house is your answer. Please get some help. But don’t go there unless you intend to finish the program and become the person that you know you should be for your family for your friends for yourself. I love hope. I probably would not be here anymore if i had not gone there for treatment. I’d be laying byehind 711 drunk if I had not made that choice. I hope Mr. STERLING is still there. And if you tell him Gary ,who he probably doesn’t remember ,but I did play the piano and told jokes a lot. So maybe he will remember me. But tell him I said hello, and God bless his soul.

As a Veteran myself who recognizes privacy issues, I can’t share names, but a family member has been staying here. Despite the poor rating of this VA Facility, he states that his treatment has been consistent, the staff has been friendly, and the other patients get along well with no drama. What’s sad is that so many veterans have no idea that this hospital is available for the treatment of PTSD, Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Bi-Polar Disease, Anxiety and more – for FREE. Meetings are available daily, and in addition to psychological assistance, medical physicians are available too. The hospital is spotless, you can choose the food you’d like to eat for 3 meals a day, and it tastes 😋 good. TVs 📺 aren’t in the room, but they are in the Dayroom, along with pool tables, etc. It’s even open to Veterans from other states. Sometimes it’s difficult to admit the need for help, but hopefully, someone will take the time to read this and reach out.

I love this VA Center. The staff are excellent! The Physician assigned to me is great. Whenever I have a medical problem, I get an appointment at a reasonable time and they listen to the symptoms I have and do a great job getting to the route cause. The amount of time it takes for labs, x-rays, and MRIs is phenomenal. Words cannot express how thankful I am for their service.

I have been with this program for over eight years. There are so many opportunities offered in the program now it is amazing! Patients learn tools through the comprehensive education of our core groups of drug education, relapse prevention, coping skills, dual diagnosis, life skills, mindfulness, etc. Patients also have the opportunities of learning how to use a computer, build their resumes, get tutoring for the GED, take the GED test, go to Driver’s Education, take college courses and the list is building everyday. The staff is a great team of hardworking individuals that put their hearts and souls into what they do.

    About Opiate Rehab Programs

Opioid use disorder treatment is a comprehensive, evidence based approach that targets the complex physical and psychological effects of opioid addiction. Maryland residents typically begin treatment with detoxification under medical supervision, especially when they are dependent on heroin, fentanyl or prescription opioids. Once stabilized, treatment shifts to long term strategies focused on reducing relapse risk and restoring quality of life.

Medication assisted treatment often plays a central role. Medications like buprenorphine and methadone help normalize brain chemistry, reduce cravings and block the euphoric effects of opioids. Naltrexone, a non addictive alternative, may also be used to prevent relapse after detox. These medications are most effective when paired with counseling and behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management and trauma informed care address the emotional and behavioral aspects of addiction.

Treatment plans in Maryland opioid use treatment centers often incorporate case management, peer support, and relapse prevention education. Care may be delivered in inpatient or outpatient settings depending on each person’s needs. Ongoing monitoring, drug screening, and coordinated follow up help maintain accountability and track progress. Effective treatment addresses both immediate safety and long term goals, supporting stability, resilience, and a healthier, substance free future.

Would HIGHLY recommend exploring treatment options with Kolmac if you’re ready to step into your recovery. ❤️‍🩹 I completed the 90(ish) day IOP program attending online group sessions three times a week for three hours in addition to individual medical appts/medication management and individual treatment plan planning. I had the incredible pleasure of working with Lisa S as my group counselor. She was professional, compassionate and understanding of the needs of her group members. She maintained a healthy and safe environment for us to all lean into the process at our own pace and found ways to relate to everyone regardless of situation. My medical/medication management was also all handled via telehealth. I felt heard when discussing my apprehension to some medications and was made to feel like the process to improve my health and the decisions being made around it were collaborative. Katelyn was my individual counselor and assisted me with developing my treatment plan. She is an absolute sweetheart and though early in her career was able to provide guidance and encouragement that felt beyond her years. I am actively transitioning to their continuing care program and look forward to seeing how far I can go with such a strong team behind me. 97 days!!!
