Clients are able to have cell phones and other devices while staying at the facility. WhiteSands offers patients the opportunity to participate in fitness programs, boxing programs and personal training. The admissions process begins with a phone call with an admissions counselor and a determination of what treatment is best.
A unique thing WhiteSands Rehab does is provide a flexible 60 day program that combines inpatient and outpatient treatment care. It allows patients to shorten their stay if they need or adjust the length of time for certain programs. As an example, a patient could do 35 days of inpatient treatment and 25 days of outpatient treatment, or a week of detox and 53 days of outpatient treatment. The inpatient program involves detoxing, a residential stay, and participating in the partial hospitalization program.
WhiteSands has their clients participate in four to five individual therapy sessions a week. They believe focusing more on individual counseling helps to keep patients more engaged in the treatment process.
The thing I like most about the facility is the Life Skills Program. Clients learn to develop healthy habits that help to prevent them from relapsing. Each individual can be assigned a nutritionist and personal trainer throughout their stay. Patients write detailed plans in their day for their exercise, meals, and other activities. The goal is for patients to be successful in creating a balanced daily routine.

Partial Hospitalization Program The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

This facility is incredible. The staff is my favorite part. From Ryan and Mark in admissions, Angel, Jason and Shannon directors on site, my case manager Amanda, and therapist Joel. Deshawn is the best case manager I ever had in any facility, he was very friendly, understanding, and got things done very efficiently I hope to not need to come back but if I do I hope to have him again and recommend him to anyone coming to white sands
So thankful a place like this exists. Let me paint a picture for you. Imagine a Holiday Inn was turned into a treatment center. I am in a private hotel room with a bathroom, TV w/Roku, private key, AC controls. I look out my window and I see a volleyball court with people playing - 10 acre campus - so a courtyard with plants, dozens of tables and outside games and a path that leads to a 20,000 gallon pool - You take a walk to the common area on this path - where they feed you three times a day good solid food in a buffet style setting. The common area now has "Arcade" style games. I kid you not: Basketball shoot-out, NBA Jam - Think 1990s arcade games but it's... cool. They are liberal with the detox medicine yet only for the first week or so - yet by then you've eaten your body weight in healthy proteins, sleeping like a baby, exercising and swimming. This is my second time. Yes, lots of people here are repeats. Yet, it ties into my opening statement: So Thankful This Exists. Lots of people here, including myself, are using "this time" as more of a mental health vacation than a detoxify of the body and that's totally fine. I rather enjoy this air of superiority. From clients to staff WhiteSands is "the best" - "We" are the best. Nobody wants to go to a different facility after WhiteSands. If you smoke or vape: There's a steady stream of donated vapes and cigarettes from "peer support" - I have four Raz vapes to my left. I am writing this review on my laptop in the private room after I just ate Salmon for dinner. My swimming trunks are drying in the bathroom because I swam in the pool today. Coming back for the second time I was all alone and starting to "slip" into old patterns and isolating; it was a no brainier, "Call WhiteSands" They had an Uber for me in under 20 minutes to get me here. I feel spoiled and appreciated here. My insurance pays for ALL OF IT - and I am just very thankful a place like this exists for people like us - Excuse me while I find something to watch on the Roku... or maybe I'll go play a game of pool on the two pool tables? Better yet, I'll go into the game room... no, I'll go into the side-room where all the guitar players go.. No, wait, I'll chain smoke by the pool. Groups go fast. You get a 2 hour break in the middle of the day. After 4pm you're a guest not a client. Did I sell it for you? Good. I'm a "Review Reader" right I'll deep dive the reviews for anything. If you have insurance from your job or the market place you're probably covered. 18-26 year olds: If sending your child here they are safe. There's a healthy portion of younger people and they don't tolerate "rehab romances" so your daughters are safe. I wouldn't be ashamed about coming back for a third time if needed.

The staff here is absolutely AMAZING! Missy who makes the coffee and smoothies really keeps the place alive. Amanda and Zach, case management, are absolutely fantastic and always help to get things done. The BHTs do everything they can for the clients. Highly recommend !
