Where do I even begin? When I called during Covid after going through a horrible breakup Diane answered the phone asked me what was going on and told me she had a specialist who could help me. Her energy from the moment she answered was warm and I remember telling her “you’re not getting off that easy, I want you to help me.” She made me a deal and said we could start and if it didn’t work out then I would see her peer. We talked once a week for months about everything from my relationship with my parents to romantic relationships and she really helped me heal my inner child. I looked at this time with her as an investment in myself and being able to break my families generational cycles of behavior for my future kids. She was always sweet, respectful, on time, and on point with what she told me. I did every homework assignment she gave me starting with a dream board and within 24 months it all came true. Met the love of my life, started a family, and have been able to help make a positive impact on my partners children from a prior relationship. I can’t thank you enough for empowering me to realize my full potential, step forward with full confidence, and most importantly never look back at the trauma with a bad taste in my mouth. Everything from then until now has been used as development and I have a beautiful happy baby that knows what it means to be loved. Each person at this facility is incredibly professional and cares deeply for each person they treat. The whole staff goes above and beyond!

As a man, I was never really convinced of the importance and use of therapy but as it turned out, I was completely wrong! We were engaged with Walt, with respect to my 13-year-old son, who had been targeted and groomed over the internet. This was a horrible time of our lives. To a degree, my son did not understand the seriousness of the situation or decree anything wrong with the actions of the unnamed person, who had impacted his childhood in such a negative way. Walt provided my son and myself with discussion, understanding and importantly, tools we could use at home to effectively unlock my child's thoughts/feelings with the view to changing his understanding (realizing the gravity of the situation). Further to the months we attended therapy, we were able to see a marked improvement in my son. This inevitably led to him returning to the happy child he was before the incident. We can't thank Walt enough. He's a good man, he understands, and is able to appeal to children and have them, as well as their parents, work on things which change/ improve these horrible situations. Thank you, Walt! Highly recommended!

I’m so thankful that I stumbled across Hand in hand counseling while searching for a therapist. This has been the most challenging year of my life and I was hesitant to begin this journey of seeking a new therapist as recommended by family members. I didn’t want to talk to anyone because I’ve had many bad experiences with counseling in the past. After finding my therapist Dannielle online and had a few sessions with her, I was so elated that I made the right decision to seek counseling. In my past experiences with therapy, I’ve always felt unheard or felt like my former therapists weren’t a right fit for me, but let me tell you, I don’t feel this way here! I wanted to share my personal experience with New Beginnings of Tampa — especially with Miss Ginny, who truly helped me during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’ve taken a few days to reflect on how to write this review in a way that’s fair and honest. My story began when my father became terminally ill overseas. As a medical assistant and certified phlebotomist working at Tampa General Hospital/USFTGP, I made the difficult decision to resign from my job and return home to care for him during his final months. It was one of the most emotional and challenging periods of my life. I gave up my job, apartment, car, and even had to rehome my beloved dog, Peanut. After my father passed away, I was devastated but determined to return to the U.S. and rebuild my life from scratch. Coming back was far from easy. I had no housing, no car, and no income proof while waiting to start my new position at the hospital. Many housing programs required pay stubs, and shelters were full or unresponsive. That’s when I found New Beginnings of Tampa and spoke with Miss Ginny, who kindly offered me a shared room for $750 a month, including utilities and Wi-Fi. From the moment I met her, Miss Ginny’s warmth stood out — she reminded me of Dolly Parton: gracious, caring, and full of heart. She clearly explained the house rules, including curfew hours (9 PM–5 AM) and program expectations. At first, I misunderstood the structure and thought it was simply shared housing, so I accidentally broke curfew once due to a work-related reason. When I was told I could face eviction, I was terrified. But after explaining my situation and providing proof from my job, Miss Ginny gave me a second chance — something I’ll always be grateful for. During my stay, I worked 12-hour shifts, saved money, bought a car, and eventually moved into my own apartment. The program gave me stability, shelter, and structure when I needed it most. I also appreciated the safe environment — it’s a no-drug, no-alcohol facility with regular testing, which helps maintain peace in the home. Each resident has a fridge shelf, laundry access, and a full kitchen to cook meals. There’s a nice backyard patio where residents can relax, socialize, and enjoy visits from local wildlife — including peacocks, raccoons, and a friendly outdoor cat named Max. One important note is that attending church services three times a week is mandatory unless you’re working. Coming from a different faith background, I was initially hesitant, but I found the church community welcoming and respectful. Still, I’d like to kindly suggest that the program consider making church attendance required only once a week — this would give residents more flexibility to rest, work, or focus on personal goals. I also believe that asking residents, many of whom are financially struggling, to donate during services could be reconsidered with compassion, as every dollar counts for people trying to rebuild their lives. As for the housing itself, I do think there’s room for improvement. The property could use some maintenance and better organization, as space is very limited and shared bathrooms can get crowded. It’s also important for residents to keep their belongings secured, as items can occasionally go missing. Considering these conditions, lowering the rent slightly would make the program more accessible and fair. Despite these challenges, I’m deeply thankful for Miss Ginny and New Beginnings of Tampa. Her kindness, patience, and understanding made a tremendous difference in my life. Without her support and this program, I truly don’t know where I would be today. With gratitude, Amanda F.

New beginnings is a awesome place to start a new beginning in your life and so many people need a new beginning at some point in life.when I was living at new beginnings it was exactly what I needed because I needed help and they exceeded my expectations,they food is awesome and u will gain weight and management is awesome and will really help ANYONE.James,Curtis and Rodney are awesome management people the facility is clean and has a good atmosphere. Westcare is working great for me! A big part of that reason is from my counselor Abrina! She makes me feel that there are people out there that actually want to help me. I know I can talk to her about anything that I’m struggling with and it’s certain she will always have the right answer! Big kudos to Abrina for carrying the whole program on her back!!!

Your body, their choice. They want to coerce staff to get vaccinated. One of the things their company does is to process people entering the criminal system for doing things such as forcing people to do things against their will, and they want to force their employees to do something against their will, saying simply that "they have a choice". Kind of the same way a criminal coercing their victim to do something they didn't want to do and then saying that the victim "had a choice". If this was really about protecting their staff, they would allow exceptions, such as for people who show they already have an immunity, which is proven more effective than the shot.

They helped me a lot showed a lot of support for me, helped me figure out my shortcomings and learn to deal with them properly. Always made sure I was doing good.
