The work you do is truly transformative and profoundly impactful. You brought serenity to a challenging period in my life. Thank you for infusing my life with boundless compassion and warmth. want to give a special thank you to the PCU nurses: Tori, Phong, Sherie (I may be spelling it wrong), she had to switch with another nurse because the other nurse was nasty to me. The PCU techs were wonderful, especially Zee and the other girl who worked the same night as (Phong) whose name I can't remember. Now, the Neuro Floor Nurse was good to me, but Nurse Kayla (night shift) was on it, and the tech, Ms. Joy, was beyond amazing to me; she made sure I was comfortable. Therapy: Nicole was very helpful in making sure I got up to walk and did my daily morning care. The kitchen staff: thank you to Ms. Julie for your service .

Accepted Insurance

BayCare Health – Saint Anthonys Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

When a person has alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism or alcohol addiction, they experience withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking. This physical dependence results from overuse of alcohol, which may be used as a coping mechanism or escape. Individuals who have AUD can overcome the alcohol addiction through alcohol rehab in Florida. This treatment process involves essential therapy and supports to help the individual achieve and maintain recovery.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Florida, substance abuse treatment focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to improve recovery outcomes and overall health. Levels of care include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) or medication-assisted treatment, group therapy, and skills training activities. This comprehensive approach to treatment helps to ensure sustained recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
teen-program thumbnail image

Teen Program

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
postpartum-program thumbnail image

Postpartum Program

The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

6/ 2021: You didn't say for what procedure, which Dr, this visit was for: MRI, Pain Mgmt, Phys Therapy ? ? ? Be more specific so I can rate... I DO know that your hospitals and Drs seldom share medical records/meds history. In May I had a procedures at your outpatient Bardmoore Surgery Ctr. They had none of my medical records !! 11/2021 ER visit: I was low in priorities. I don't know protocol but felt the Nurses/Aides did not do well keeping me informed on my status. The Dr Teto (?) was the only person who kept me up to date on procedures. The Radiology Tech did a VERY good job, nice personality. She just said a Nurse will come and update me. I was seated in a lazyboy chair by a TV. Leg lifts didn't work. After I was there for 1 hr I had to go to the main Nurse stand to ask for warm towels as I was chilled. Nurse gave me 3.... I don't recall any Nurse checking in on me over the next 2-3 hrs. Finally Dr T returned and gave me the radiology updates. I had parked infront of SunCoast Med Center. I felt ok at 6:30 walking back to my car from the ER area. I would hope that if I were older, or a woman, someone would have offered to have Security escort me back to my car. Attentiveness like this will increase your ratings. .... AND I was referred to a Vascular Surgeon affiliated w/ BayCare. I learned that only my radiology records will be transferred to him. Since he's affiliate w/ BayCare seems to me that ALL my Internist and Oncology records should automatically be electronically transferred to Dr Szpila. There might be meds/past procedures that could help him.... STRONG suggestion, ANY Dr affiliated w/ BayCare should have automatic access to BC patient records, OR I the patient should be able, with one ph call, contact my Internist and ALL my BC records (Otrhopedist, Oncologist, Internist) should be electronically transferred to the Dr I was referred to. ..... I'm accustomed to The Mayo and ParkNicollet/United Healthcare in Minneapolis where these processes happen/ed automatically. ... IF I was say late 80s, it's ridiculous to rely upon the memory of a patient. I suppose medical errors happen frequently in FL. Hope BC and other major hospitals improve sharing medical records... ONE STAR, at most: 8/2025: ALL the STAFF, pre-ER techs, Nurses and ER Doctors were EXCELLENT !! THANKS !!... What sas BAD - Horrible - upon discharge, (Saturday) I told them who was my attending GI Dr, who's only affiliated w/ Bay Care, not part of the BayCare Medical 'Group.' I had previously scheduled a regular check up w/ that GI Dr. When I arrived @ that GI's appointment, they had NO idea I was in the ER !!!!!.... When a patent states his Dr is So N So, the Hospital MUST ensure that that Dr. receives all my medical reports from Bay Care hospital (St Anthony's)..... and make it Standard Operating procedures that upon admittance or discharge, a HIPPA Release of ALL medical records/ tests/ X-rays/CAT scans is signed so that the attending non-Bay Care physician IS notified; ESPECIALLY when patient is discharged from the ER.... On Monday I contacted BC's Patient Ombuds dept. The woman their tried to say since my Specialist is not my BC Primary, BC has NO right to contact a non-Bay Care Dr... This is HORRIBLE B A D medical practice... I'm even going to contact The Joint Commission, the accreditation agency of hospitals. Bay Care NEEDS to improve its discharge and information sharing !!
