As someone who works in the behavioral health field, I feel obligated to be honest: my experience at this treatment center was negative and, at times, felt emotionally unsafe.
I did not feel supported in therapy. Instead, I often felt judged and singled out. Being labeled as “attention seeking” in a clinical setting was not only dismissive, but damaging—especially in a place where people are supposed to feel safe enough to be vulnerable.
The overall environment felt unprofessional. There was a lack of respect and, at times, a noticeable tension that made it difficult to trust the staff or the process. Rather than feeling like I was in a space focused on healing, I often felt uncomfortable and on guard.
In my opinion, this is not the standard of care people should expect from a residential treatment center. When someone is seeking help, they deserve professionalism, compassion, and a sense of safety—none of which I consistently experienced here.
I would not return, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility—especially for women who are early in recovery and need a genuinely supportive environment.
The BHT’s, chef Lesa, and supervisor were amazing. This review is more towards clinical and admin staff and their unprofessionalism.

I spent some time at this facility, and ultimately I had to leave due to a situation that I’d rather not get into. I’m choosing to let that part go and focus on what I feel is important to share.
What I will say is that there were techs on the floor who truly showed up every day with consistency and heart. There’s one in particular I’m thinking of — I can’t recall his name, it wasn’t the easiest to pronounce — but he carried himself with a level of presence and care that didn’t go unnoticed. The kind of energy you hope to find in a place where people are trying to heal.
At the same time, there was an undercurrent that didn’t sit right with me. I experienced what felt like retaliation and a strong sense of control in the dynamics behind the scenes. As someone seeking peace and clarity, that kind of energy can be unsettling.
I also noticed a lot of internal tension being spoken about openly around clients. In my view, people in treatment shouldn’t be exposed to staff conflicts or internal issues. That space should feel grounded, safe, and focused on recovery — not influenced by things happening behind the curtain.
It’s also worth mentioning that for a place that presents itself in a more holistic light, there seemed to be a strong reliance on medication. That may work for some, but it didn’t align with what I personally expected walking in.
I share this not out of anger, but from a place of reflection. I hope the environment continues to grow in a way that truly supports the people who walk through those doors looking for something better.

The doctor, my counselor, the front desk people, the dosing nurse at the first window, the intake guy, and especially Gina have all been amazing. I transferred from elsewhere and this place has been absolutely amazing. Easy to follow rules, genuine help, and no stigma for doing what you can to better your life. I want to thank North Tampa Behavioral Health. The facility looks modern and clean and the staff was engaging, kind and nice people. This is the best mental health facility in the entire central western region of the state. As an American I get free top quality health insurance called Medicare A, B & D. The intake staff was very cheerful and engaging and attentive to the patients inside the secure facility. I got my new medicine for behavioral health and I couldn't be more happier with the results. My mood totally changed inside the facility from being completely sour to roaring with joy and comfort and remaining that way throughout my recent mental health journey. I'm usually very happy for about 90% of the time. I preoccupy myself with fun activities like bicycling and basketball but there are certain times that I fall into a hole of anxiety, depression and self doubt around 10% of the time overall but the new medication helps me to balance my mood and I physically feel better after taking my medication. If I ever have another mental health meltdown again I will go directly to this facility for proper healthcare and wellbeing updates. Don't be afraid to ask for help when it comes to mental health. Your mental health is important and you should evaluate yourself honestly and outwardly if ever or whenever you're in doubt ask for help before making a final decision that could end your life prematurely. I hope this helps someone who is in need of mental health. Speak outwardly about mental health don't be ashamed. Many people, millions of people remain undiagnosed in positions of grand stature and low stature. Seek help if you need it please. Try your best to look forward towards something new & uncomfortable. Try something new for a change that lasts. Ciao

All I have to say is that I decided to go into this rehab on my own. Nobody push me to go. I decided to turn myself in willingly and at no point in time was I ever treated disrespectfully or was I scared in anyway I felt totally comfortable and teachers are awesome. The curriculum was amazing and the overall experience was so good that I almost thought about relaxing is this day that’s how good it was and I highly suggest that anybody that wants to say their life do not think twice about it and just go and do it because it will be the best decision you ever made and it will save your life and it’s like no other program there is out there. I wish there was more programs out there like CRC And I can’t say enough good things about it. I wish they would take me back now but I don’t think they will because I’m clean so but don’t ever feel that it’s like any other place because it’s definitely not. It’s there should be definitely more than one of these facilities in the Pasco County area .

Lutz, FL | Lutz, Florida is home to the Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center. This is a recovery center located inside the North Bay Hospital, a medical facility that sits in the northern outskirts of Tampa. If you are struggling with your mental health, are in need of crisis support, or require detox services and other immediate support for a substance use | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I've been baker acted multiple times (as a minor, now an adult) and this is the best facility. As long as you work with staff, they'll do their best to get you in and out. I like that they do bloodwork in this location, and Monday through Friday are pretty scheduled (we don't talk about Saturday Sunday). They have a gym as well, which is great for getting engery out and feel lighter while at such a facility.
I believe Ash and Stephanie were the best I'd interacted while there. Stephanie is a nurse who told me her honest opinion about my case and helped me process some final emotions, and Ash is a floor tech who was a Saint in getting answers for me, relaying messages, explaining why or why not things– and helpful for minor tasks like changing the TV or getting a snack. He genuinely seemed like such a nice guy, and it makes me glad someone like him is there for those who need someone to rely on while admitted.
Overall, this facility is where I would choose again and again, whether for me or for others. They get you the help you need, make sure you're doing okay, and ensure you're stabilized before you leave. I'm thankful for those who helped me and I know they'll continue to help others as they need too.

I was recently a patient at this facility, and despite the difficult circumstances, I left feeling genuinely cared for by some truly exceptional staff members.
Bobbie (nurse) stood out the most. She brought warmth and humanity to what could have been a cold, frightening experience. She talked with us, listened, and even taught me practical tools for redirecting attention away from trauma. Her kindness made a real difference.
Kelly (nurse) also deserves recognition. When other staff declined to explain medications in detail, Kelly took the time to answer all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I also witnessed her gently helping another patient untangle and fix her hair when that patient didn’t have the energy to do it herself. That small act of compassion said everything about who she is.
Thank you Bobbie and Kelly for reminding patients that they are seen and valued. You made a hard time a little easier.

I think i wrote my review under the wrong hospital but everyone was awesome for the most part. My name is Cameron Atwood and im still taking my medicine by some miracle. I went into this facility so psychotic i didnt know up from down. I had real people help me see the real lies i was telling myself. I thought everybody was the enemy and somehow people like Stephanie (The Goat) and even those who didnt believe what i believed like Peter broke through to me. The chapman there are amazing and i cant complement the Techs more doing gods work. I was nursed back to a stable point not from medicine but from the grace and compassion of the nurses and most of the techs! People like ASH, Sydney, Shy, and Patrick made me feel safe and comfortable in a foreign place. I cannot thank this facility enough and pray everyone gets the grace and compassion they showed me back in 10 fold. I can literally type for hours about how they helped me but my fingers might get tired. Oh and Richard and Gavin got me to trust medicine which im still having a hard time with but without this entire team i believe id still be unstable to this day. Again just to mention Nurse Stephanie is probably the nicest person I've ever met and the first person i fully trusted in Lutz. What I'm trying to say is the People working nursed me back to health not any medicine even though i will admit the drugs helped.
Thank you guys for your kindness

So I called last week to get an appointment with a Doctor Who would be a person who understood my husband. My husband has skiff affective disorder and he is 6 foot nine and he is a mixed black and white man. A lot of people in the mental healthcare system do not understand what it is to be a black man with a mental health condition in this community and I specifically asked for a Doctor Who would understand him, but not take any bullshit and they gave me the utmost perfect doctor ever if you are looking for a real human being who cares enough to listen and figure out the real problem and who actually is so professional at his job professional professionalism is an understatement for him he’s exquisite go see Dr. Sam they take Medicaid insurance and I didn’t know that he would understand my husband as well as he did, but I asked specifically for an African-American male doctor and if that is what you’re looking for who has amazing taste and professionalism. This is your guy like you don’t need to go anywhere else ever again this person cares enough to help my family we are a family of five. My husband is our soul Provider. I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank you. Going into therapy, I honestly didn’t know what to expect, and I wasn’t sure how comfortable I would be opening up about some of the things I was going through.
Dr. Renee made that process easier. She is down-to-earth, honest, compassionate, and never made me feel judged. Her ability to be straightforward while still making you feel comfortable is something I truly appreciate. Even the jokes and little comments during class helped make a difficult process feel a little easier.
This experience has taught me that asking for help is not a weakness. Sometimes you have to swallow your ego, take that first step, and allow people to help you become a better version of yourself.
Dr. Renee, thank you for listening, for being real with us, and for genuinely caring about the people you work with. You have had a bigger impact on me than you probably realize, and I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to be in your class.
Please continue doing what you do. You are helping people change their lives, one person at a time.

I just wanted to share the impact Patrick had on the group and myself. He was attentive, provided great scenarios that applied to discussions and flexible with the conversations that randomly popped up. I would recommend using Patrick as your lead counselor!

White Sands saved my life in February and continues to do so to this day. If you are looking for help and are finally willing to reach out, there is no better option than White Sands. The staff at White Sands, many of whom are serving others as a way to they themselves stay clean, are absolutely amazing. Their desire is to pick you up, dust you off, and watch you grow. From the moment you arrive at inpatient they do their best to get you in and comfortable. Each day gets easier and there is not one person who couldn't benefit from their MRT program. In outpatient the IOP program and individual counseling teaches and strengthens you by offering a different way to live. The counselors truly care and want to see you succeed. It isn't easy to ask for help and it isn't a sign of weakness. If you're willing to admit you need help, White Sands is the place to turn to.

7 summit has helped me a lot and there is a good community there. There were signs of being unprofessional. But my therapist Beth was amazing, she kept it very real and helped me and my peers work through things and get a better perspective on our addiction and our life.
