About Springbrook Hospital

Their facility can hold up to 66 people at a time. Here, you’ll receive round the clock psychiatric care delivered by a multidisciplinary team of licensed professionals. If you’re struggling with substance use on top of a mental health issue, you’ll enroll in their Eclipse Dual Diagnosis Program. A special feature of this program is that it combines inpatient treatment with partial hospitalization services. You’ll start out in inpatient care and then transition to outpatient treatment once you’re ready to live on your own again.

During your time in the program, you’ll focus on working through your condition with a licensed therapist. You’ll discuss ways to improve your self esteem, embrace healthy habits, and improve your relationships. You can attend counseling sessions by yourself or you’re welcome to bring your spouse, kids or other family members along. They also offer group meetings and educational programs for additional support.

Individuals who have gone here have mixed feelings about the time they spent in the program. While some call it a blessing and say the staff members are supportive, others have felt inadequately cared for and question the protocols that the team members use.

Our daughter was going through a tough time in her life. She was in need of help. The facility was able to stabilize her, and worked very hard to find her a place that could help her further. I want to thank the facility for the care they provided. Special thanks to case manager Ireland and the director Madison for going above and beyond to get our daughter into a facility that would be able to help her further. Thanks so much for the help and care provided for our daughter. 💕

I have never been here as a patient, so I can't rate on how good they are on the inside, but outside they are not looking very competent . A neighbor of mine was having a mental health crisis last night. He called this facility up because they had helped him on and off for years. He spoke to a supervisor who knew him. Like he didn't even have to give his last name. He told her that he needed help, when the supervisor asked if he had thoughts of harming himself or others he told them yes. The supervisor ran his insurance and called him back promptly, then transferred his call to intake. The man in intake took his information and we drove to the facility. He knocked on the door and a woman claiming to be a supervisor with a badge that said "Registered Nurse" opened the door and told him he was trespassed because apparently last time he was at this facility he had a meltdown in which he pushed someone who was trying to restrain him. Now, is this not a mental facility?! Isn't that kind of a normal thing for mentally ill patients to have meltdowns while in a mental health facility ? Isn't it a normal thing for patients to get violent when having a mental health episode? Isn't it common that they would fight being restrained? Isn't that why there are straight jackets, bed restraints, isolation rooms, medications, tranquilizer shots? Aren't the staff of mental health facilities trained to deal with these instances? Like, how can they kick a mentally ill person out, for having a mental breakdown in which they act mentally unstable? Like that is the whole damn point of a mental health facility . To help mentally unstable people. If patients came in all docile, compliant, and calm they wouldn't need to be treated there. They would go to a group home or assisted living. If this young man ends up hurting himself or others, this facility is responsible for telling him to come, then denying him the mental health treatment he needs when he actually showed up for help. The fact that he recognized that he needs professional help and wanted it and then was turned away is sad. No, like I said, I haven't been here personally. so I can't comment on that, but from what I witnessed last night, I don't think they actually care about the mentally disabled. They just want easy people, not people who actually can use their help. So if your, kid or family member, or whoever is mentally ill, and you are considering this facility, my opinion is to find someplace that cares enough to help and understands that mentally ill people can get violent, can have meltdowns, can do abnormal things. That is why they are there! For help with finding a treatment that works for their mental illness.

My son had been at this facility from November to December 2024. The entire staff was wonderful and really helped him transition to the next facility as part of his therapy journey. This is why I went to them again. Michael and Michelle the intake nurses were the same staff members who had helped my son and still remembered him and that was a big help. It was a scary experience for me but thanks so much to the staff, especially Jamie the risk manager, who went out of their way to help me and achieve the necessary solution to my issues. Everyone is nice, compassionate and understanding. I definitely recommend this facility if it applies to your mental heath journey.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
