CBH has a great caring staff, case management goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. I had complications with getting my sublocade shot on MAT but they made it easy taking me to a psychiatrist for it when appointment was made. The structure is great with when you get your phone and laptop after blackout period so you can look for jobs, sober living etc and the ability to communicate with your support system/ family. NICOLE is a great therapist and Cameron for case management were assigned to me and did a great job.

As others have already pointed out, this facility is deeply flawed in both philosophy and practice. The staff lack the education and insight necessary to treat individuals with nuanced or complex psychological needs. Rather than taking a modern, person-centered approach, they rely heavily on outdated and overly simplistic models of addiction that ignore decades of research and real-world understanding of mental health and recovery. There is little to no recognition that addiction manifests in different ways for different people, nor is there meaningful effort to adapt treatment accordingly. Individual needs, histories, and co-occurring conditions are routinely overlooked in favor of rigid, one-size-fits-all programming. If you're looking for anything resembling comprehensive care—psychological, neurological, or psychiatric—this is not the place. The overall approach feels frozen in time, operating under assumptions that may have been standard in the 1950s but are far from acceptable today. Unless your only goal is to stop substance use without any broader mental health support, you’re unlikely to find effective help here. And even then, the lack of empathy, professionalism, and adaptability makes it a long shot. Approach with caution—and manage your expectations accordingly. As others have already pointed out, this facility is deeply flawed in both philosophy and practice. Compassion Behavioral Health changed my life. From the 1st day when I checked myself into the PHP program all of the staff made me feel welcomed. I was extremely nervous about joining a program for my mental health issues since this was my 1st time doing It. Once I got there the techs (Jen, Jojo, Sabrina, both Brians, Jerry, and Ben) for the intake, Anna the clinical director, and Joe made sure any questions I had were answered and I felt comfortable. Housing could have not been nicer! Exceeded all my expectations! Once I had my 1st day participating in the program I was introduced to my therapist Nicole, and case manager Will. I can’t begin to explain the impact they had on my experience. Nicole, listened and understood what I needed and immediately we began treatment to help me live, understand and have a full amazing life. Will helped me with all things that I felt were too overwhelming to handle. Now that I am done with the program I can confidently say I can handle the hard things. During the program the group facilitators were amazing! Raquel, Greg, Carla, Elizabeth, Warnette, and the many others listened and taught me skills I didn’t know I needed. I bonded with them and they helped me on this journey. Finally, I finished PHP and joined the IOP program. Maria our group facilitator was truly amazing. She helped me tremendously with my transition from PHP to the “real world!” All and all if you have the chance to join this program weather It be for substance abuse or mental health, if you have to start at residential or jump right into PHP like I did, I could not recommend more! Everyone I meant there (Monya, and Cam just to name a few) whether they worked with me directly or just created a relationship with them while being in the program helped me get to where I am now! 10/10

Accepted Insurance

Compassion Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
telehealth iconTelehealth
Telehealth offers many benefits for Florida residents. It lets you see your healthcare provider from anywhere. This saves time because you don't have to travel to a doctor's office or take time off work to get there. It also provides more options, because you can choose health care specialists who are located far from you.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Florida, substance abuse treatment focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to improve recovery outcomes and overall health. Levels of care include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) or medication-assisted treatment, group therapy, and skills training activities. This comprehensive approach to treatment helps to ensure sustained recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young adult program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Substance abuse creates biochemical imbalances in your body and brain. By implementing dietary changes, you can restore that balance. This is the goal of nutrition therapy in Florida. You'll gain an understanding of what nutrients your body needs and learn best self care practices.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Recreational therapy helps you recover from addiction by giving you structured activities that promote your physical health and mental well being. These activities could range from sports and fitness to creative arts and provide a constructive outlet for your emotions and stress.

Rational behavior therapy is used in addiction treatment to teach you to challenge and change irrational beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to substance abuse and addiction. Using cognitive and behavioral techniques, your therapist teaches you to manage negative emotions, reduce your cravings, and maintain your sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

By incorporating a fitness therapy program into drug and alcohol addiction recovery in Florida, you experience the benefits of regular physical activity on your physical and mental health. Exercise helps you manage stress, improves your mood, and reduces anxiety. It promotes better sleep and provides a healthy outlet for coping with cravings.

This treatment facility is horrible they kept my fiance from receiving medical attention when she had a bone infection and they are keeping her from getting her ID so she can't fly home. I would never recommend this for my worst enemy.

My son was recently kicked out due to a particular client complaining about a “slap” mind you no one on the bus turned around or even heard the slap. The client who complained laughed about the tap on the cheek right after then later on ran to a director and they kicked my non-aggressive, non-confrontational, kind and sweet son, whos extremely empathetic & who wouldn’t intentionally hurt a fly and saves hurt bugs and animals all the time. Recently he saw a plant dying at the supermarket and felt bad and grabbed a water off the shelf to water it. My son, Tatum has a heart of gold and his experience prior at this program was remarkable and he has stayed clean for 14 months since leaving this program. They claimed my son committed a “violent act”… when 1) he was there for his impulsivity above all and this was spoken to with his therapist. This is a behavioral health program. To top it off, my son Tatum had reported to Anna that the SAME MAN had slapped someone very hard during group and the whole group room heard it. It was so LOUD that the group facilitator Carla had to tell him to “keep your hands to yourself”! As Tatum told Anna that around 3:45pm (her time to jet out the doors) she said “I’ll talk to Carla and see what Carla saw” Yet has not even spoken with a Matthew yet. This is completely discriminatory, wrong, and unfair to my son as my sons “tap to the face” wasn’t heard by anyone considering no one in the bus heard it. Yet this grown man can full on slap someone loud enough for the staff, and entire group to hear it is dead wrong! If this man is not kicked out there will absolutely be lawyers involved. They cannot pick and choose when they want to use their policy. Do not send anyone here who struggles with any impulsivity issues. The man who got my son kicked out didn’t even have a red mark on his face, while the person who he slapped did have a red mark on his arm. I’m furious at this program. Now he’s back home and having to find another program for himself because they wanted to help transfer him but only called 2 places “within the companies they work with” then made me (an older woman on SSDI pay for a bus ride home which leaves me with $25 for the week. To Anna, Joe and Ivo, you know my son very well… and you decided to kick him out before even speaking with him to hear his story. It is a disgrace what you did to him, and what you’re not doing to Matt. A lot of the bhts and others were very upset that this is the way you chose to go, and are all aware of Matt slapping someone else. There will be serious repercussions if this Matt kid is not kicked out from the program. I would not like to see anyone kicked out, but the policy is the policy. ***important note, the only reason there is so many reviews and the rating of this program is so high is that they put you in the spot during your discharge and have you do a review with your case manager. Otherwise, I promise there wouldn’t be this many reviews** point being, everyone feels pressure to leave a positive review as they have to pass it over to their case manager after writing.

Okay hear me out. I came in stubborn and closed-minded. I wanted help, but I wanted to be helped MY WAY. But the reality was that MY WAY WASN’T WORKING. Once I surrendered to the process, I was much happier. I didn’t come to change my past, or my finances, or other people and THEIR attitudes. I had to wake up and realize that I came here to change ME. The staff here helped me realize that. Shoutout to Ana, Cameron, Monya, Nicole, Jen, JoJo, Maria, Ivo, Carla, and so many more who put up with my bs and watched my kicking and screaming turn into gratitude 🙏 thank you

Unless you or your loved one is convinced he/she is the world is spying on them, voices are coming through the computer's, phones, etc.Don’t ever go there. I was held there, while my boyfriend kept calling, after I got my “body cavity search”, it was so humiliating. My boyfriend told them to “stop her intake right now”, they ignored him. When I finally got someone (who I am sure they let go) to use a phone again, he jumped in truck from Key Largo and was there to get me in 2 hours. All the while patients are asking me if “I believe in hevan or hell?” Shut that place down.

Wow! For something that apparently sounds 'Sooo Amazing...!!', it's P-r-e-t-t-y Darn Sad that You Folks wouldn't be Open enough to receive Something So vast, such as Medicaid, for people like Us/Myself, being a Single Parent and living on Strict (VERY LOW), ALIMONY INCOME, AND Mind you, Have done so for the last 13 and 1/2 YEARS, trying to Borrow from Peter to Pay Paul--- Each & every Single Month, JUST to Keep Myself Afloat!! And Now, I have the funny feeling (God forbid Not!!), that because I'm about to compete My 3rd year Anniversary here where I'm living, ---Despite the fact it's not the Cleanest place-- it's a very Sweet Family, even though the Elderly Couple are both Sadly very ill, and I most certainly wouldn't be able to Move ANY WHERE Else right now, due to just how high Rents are--- They're just Simply Over the Roof, it's just Rediculously high, beginning from $1,300- on up!! So quite frankly, once again-- if your facility is as good as it claims to be-- you really, truly ought to think it over twice, and three times, and ask God to mend your Hearts!! Especially Now that We are in the middle of the Lenten Season!! It's Sooo, Soo Sad how Everything in this World Works around 'MONEY', which is the love of All evil! And in the meantime, THAT'S precisely WHY MILLIONS of people like Us, who suffer from Massive Depression, and have had it for the Majority of My Life, Cannot get out of this Cycle, and much less Receive the Proper help I Need, because of Greedy people like Yourselves! It truly is a Damn Shame. I'll be sure to keep you in My daily Prayers!

Out of the four treatment centers that I have been to; Compassion Behavioral Health is by far the best. As most addictions/substance abuses stem from Mental Health challenges and the underlying depression/anxiety; BHC demonstrates just that road to recovery. All the staff, from the BHT's, to Group Coordinators, to counselors to the administration and to the GM and owner are very helpful, excited and customer centric no matter where you came from, your journey, or else. Thank you very much for all you did and continue to do for everyone!! May You All Be Blessed and Allow God Into Your Lives! Regards, J

This facility is phenomenal. Having worked at several different treatment centers myself, I was weary selecting somewhere I felt would truly be beneficial when I needed help myself. Luckily I chose Compassion Behavioral Health, and would recommend them over any other treatment center in Florida. The staff there is incredible. The group and individual therapy sessions are both incredibly healing. I learned so much about managing cravings and anxiety during my stay here. Their therapists and psychiatrists are very experienced, and work together to properly make a mental health diagnosis. I was able to start on new medications that actually work. I never understood how much better I could feel until I met with the psychiatrist and clinical team, who educated me on what the medications did and what I could expect as a result of taking them. The apartments are brand new and everything is extremely clean. Leadership is organized and unlike many other facilities, they communicate with both clients and staff efficiently. They do not lie to you on the phone to get you in, and you can expect to be able to communicate with your loved ones if you desire without issues. If you are weighing your options, I hope this helps you lean toward Compassion. You don’t have to guess to get lucky finding a great program like I did. You can take my word that it’s worth it.

I’m late in posting my review, but in May, I’ll be 6 years sober! Someone recently asked me, “What was the last treatment center you went to?” They’re looking for one for their daughter, and this was the final place I went before I finally got sober. After being homeless and going through more than 40 treatment centers, I can’t recommend this place enough. Fast forward to today—I have a wife, a 22-month-old, and another child on the way. We own a home, run a business, and are living a blessed life—one I never thought was possible when I was at my lowest, homeless on the streets.
