About Recovery First Treatment Center

The center has a medical detox program that has around the clock nursing care. In this program, nurses will check on you every 15 minutes to ensure your comfort and safety during withdrawal. If needed, you’ll receive medication to help with uncomfortable symptoms. You’ll also have snacks available 24/7 and three catered meals per day.

If you’re a first responder or military veteran, there’s a specialized program for you. This program treats veterans, firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical service providers, corrections officers and dispatchers. The program focuses on the impact of stress and post traumatic stress responses.

You’ll work through grief and loss and learn about pain management and military and first responder culture. The program is an approved community care provider through the Veterans Administration. You’ll get help connecting with local meetings and even housing, so you’ll have the support you need to maintain sobriety after leaving the facility.

This facility also offers short term combination detox programs that include a five, seven or 10-day rehab if you can’t commit to long term treatment. Most people, however, need a longer program to successfully quit an addiction. For that reason they offer treatment programs that are 30 and 90 days or longer.

The facility works with a free employment program called Pathways 2 Work. If you apply, you’ll meet with career experts who can help match you with employers with the goal of long term, successful employment.

The post detox inpatient program offers a unique weekly grocery stipend. You’ll go grocery shopping once a week and learn how to plan healthy meals, shop and prepare your meals. You’ll live in apartment style quarters and prepare your meals three times a day. They’ll also teach you about finances and budgeting.

Accepted Insurance

Recovery First Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. This program is less restrictive than inpatient or residential treatment programs, but clients in our IOP are committed to a structured schedule that requires attending treatment three (3) days a week at our treatment facility, in treatment blocks of a minimum of three (3) hours.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Recovery First is one of the first AAC facilities to use EarlySense technology, an FDA-cleared patient monitoring system. It tracks and analyzes a patient’s heart rate, breathing rate, movement, and bed exit, without patient contact.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy helps you recover from addiction by giving you structured activities that promote your physical health and mental well being. These activities could range from sports and fitness to creative arts and provide a constructive outlet for your emotions and stress.

Would not go here again. I will preface with The staff were all really cool and i met a lot of cool people here, I was also here when they were still on covid protocol, but I can't imagine much has changed, maybe I'm wrong? I went here with a severe alcohol problem, I had been to an "American Addiction Centre" rehab before when I lived in Las Vegas, desert hope specifically, and that place was amazing, I figured all ACC rehabs were, but going to this place taught me that they are not. The first step of treatment, my biggest issue was just how small the area I was in was, mind you, they had covid protocol at this time so it could have just been that, but my biggest issues with this place are with the second level of care you go to, where you will likely spend the majority of your time. The place they put you up in is this like, almost a motel area, where you have basically an apartment and you share it with multiple roommates, it's small and dirty, but that's not even the issue, the issue is this "apartment", is in the middle of downtown Hollywood florida with a cantina directly across from you and the HARD ROCK HOTEL is right around the corner! Classes all go from like 7am-3pm so from 3pm to the next morning youre basically stuck in this tiny glorified motel six with nothing do for hours, I probably lost several weeks of my life chain-smoking cause I had NOTHING TO DO But here's the biggest part I take issue with. The food part They don't feed you They give you like a 70 dollar card, that doesn't roll over, so you have to spend as close to that exact amount of money, take you all on a group trip to a big grocery store and make you shop for your own food while they follow you around I can't speak for everyone else but when at my lowest of lows, so low that I've stopped working for a month or however long so I can go out of state, charge $40,000 or whatever to my insurance I DONT WANNA GO TO THE STORE!!! I don't wanna have to think about what I'm eating I don't want to have to cook and do dishes Who wants to go SHOPPING while they're in REHAB?? A REHAB THEY PAID TO BE IN??? I get that for some people this could be a positive But I'm assuming for a lot of people, myself included, that is stupid They only take you once a week too, and I remember seeing people miss their opportunity to go I don't remember why or what the thing was, but I guess insurance decided a bunch of people didn't need to be there and so people slowly started getting pulled out one by one, and by the time it happened to me they gave me the option to try and fight it or just leave once the insurance didn't wanna cover it anymore and I just left when I got the chance, which ended up only being like two weeks And they still ended up trying to charge me for the whole thing, which that's just corporate American nonsense. But ya That's my experience at Recovery First Not a swell one I don't exactly regret the decision to go, cause I did end up getting sober, not because of this place though but It has a place in my recovery, and like I said staff was cool, and the people were cool. Shopping on my 8th day of sobriety was not. Listening to drunk people party at 2am was not Losing two months of my life from chain smoking out of boredom was not. Here's a picture of some lizards I saw while I was there.

This is a great facility in aspects of the care you receive. All of the therapists are great, especially Jeff who is incredible, he has helped me immensely in the short time I have been here. Most of the TAs are fantastic, Eric, Paulna, Lloyd, Greg, and Doreen are great, a couple of the TAs could work on their attitudes and the way they approach clients. Facilitators, Melina, Marie, and Linda are amazing, and Gilbert and Hubert are great in helping you with all your needs. In all, Recovery first is a great place for people serious about getting help. Highly recommend.
