Dom was a GODSEND - when it came to my friends experience here, if it wasn’t for his incredible understanding and knowledge with her insurance ( I had hung up the phone so many times with them- I was hopeless in getting her treatment) he saved the day. Thankful for his help. Without him my friend would have given up and not wanted to get help, he made it so seamless. Thank you Dom and the incredible bayside team!!

Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center. At first, I didn't want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership. But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion. The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality. The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn't have a corporate feel, even though they're owned by Acadia. What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I've ever seen. When there's a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can't fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else's faith in you until you're able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time. I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening. I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they're not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with. They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there. With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I've been told they're working on fixing this problem. Scheduling glitches do happen, but that's true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect. Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that's not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed. Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn't a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

I have never experienced such a high level of care & support. The personalized, round the clock support is second to none. Specifically, the staff is the best I've ever experienced. Coming off kratom was the hardest week of my life & I could not recommend a better detox facility in the Bay Area. They saved my life & I can not be more grateful.

This is an absolutely wonderful facility for detox programs. The staff is kind and incredibly attentive and the food is amazing. Heartwood provides a very relaxed environment for you to undergo a medically assisted detox taper program that I personally found highly affective. My withdrawal symptoms were minimal and the taper itself wasn’t challenging at all. One of the nurses, Meredith, is absolutely incredible in her attention to your specific needs and feelings. She is very empathetic and understanding in addition to being friendly and easy to talk to casually while receiving your treatment. She is an absolute professional and excels at what she does. In my opinion she made the difference in bumping the review from four stars up to five. If you want a relaxing non-pressured environment in which to detox in the care of medical professionals Heartwood Novato is the place to go

This place is great! I brought my son here. Simone the director was AMAZING! She made sure all my questions and worries were addressed. It is very obvious this is more than just a job to her. She truly cares and wants the best for everyone involved. The team at Heartwood are all so great and supportive. I couldn’t have asked for better care for my son.

An overall very positive experience. At first I hated it - of course - I was being forced to conform and live with a group of damaged people and staff who are mostly recovering so also a bit off. But as I got used to the structure I began to really learn about my addiction and it's underlying causes. The therapy was very ineffective - I was given a trainee that does not have any natural abilities in this area and it was a waste of time. The counselor that I had was incredibly helpful - we did a lot of meditation and some somatic work as well as homework and we worked steps 1-3 together. I can't compare it to any other facility as this is my only experience with treatment but I really loved the experience and so far I am remaining sober with the tools I was given and the support of a sponsor and the AA fellowship. Many of the people I met have already relapsed but most of them did not adhere to the policies and the program and slept through most of their classes.

I had a wonderful experience at Reflections, McClay. The peaceful, scenic setting and beautiful home created the perfect environment to focus on recovery. The program was comprehensive and tailored to my needs, with a dual-diagnosis approach that made all the difference in my progress. The therapists were skilled, attentive, and continually adjusted my plan for the best results. What truly stood out was the staff—everyone from admissions to the PA’s, therapists, and nurses was compassionate, professional, and genuinely invested in each patient’s well-being. They created a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment that felt like a home away from home. I’m deeply grateful for my experience and can’t recommend Reflections enough.

I am offering my highest and unqualified recommendation for Reflections Dual Diagnosis Rehabilitation facilities in Novato, California. The staff is highly experienced and very professional and offer personalized services customized for each individual. The facilities are well appointed and comfortable and the program only treats six individuals at a time. There is a blend of individual and group therapy that proves very effective and rewarding. I believe they handle a complex and challenging subject matter in a compassionate manner with a high degree of success.

I came to Alta Mira for dual diagnosis treatment, including my eating disorder, and it helped me more than I can possibly express. The therapy here is incredible - multiple sessions a week plus so much additional support because the staff is so in tune and genuinely caring. They also have weekly massages included in your stay! I worked with Kellie as my therapist, and she completely changed my life. Jeff runs the best DBT groups ever, and Karen and Drea are phenomenal too. The entire therapist team is amazing. Management is wonderful - friendly, involved, and truly dedicated to every client. The RAs are absolute rockstars: Zach, Ben, Tristan, Sam, Adam, Trace, and David. They are all so kind, supportive, and professional. Ben and Tristan are amazing leads, and honestly, Zach and Adam should be too! The food deserves its own review - the chef is incredible and the meals alone helped me overcome under eating. There’s a salad bar, an amazing breakfast buffet, and everything is fresh and delicious. I tried another facility that served Costco ready meals and I was starving - but at Alta Mira, every meal felt nourishing and made with care. I loved that they have lots of healthy snacks offered throughout the day at there is amazing coffee offered too. They even have lots of teas and matcha! On Fridays we get the best cookies ever and each client gets a going away dessert for their last night. Mine was the chocolate strawberries and cookies pictured below. The personal trainer, Tanya, and the yoga teacher are both fabulous. The workshops are genuinely life changing. Housekeeping is amazing too - every part of this place runs with care and respect. The rooms are huge, beautiful, and comfortable, and the clients are great people too. Dr. Driscoll (aka Dr. Py) is the best doctor ever. She is compassionate, attentive, and brilliant. I also appreciated that staff took me to outside appointments when I needed them. Even when I (or others!) had our “diva moments,” the staff always treated us with patience, kindness, and respect. They really listen and hear you out. Alta Mira is meant to be a 90-day program, and my friend who’s doing the full 90 is getting brain scans, cheek swab testing, and neuropsych testing - so if you can, do the full program. You’ll get the most out of it. I could not recommend Alta Mira highly enough. It was the best decision I ever made, and I’m eternally grateful for everyone there for helping me heal, grow, and truly find myself again.

Alta Mira was an exceptional experience in 2020 and I recently celebrated 4 years of sobriety. The therapist I had in the program set me on a wonderful path to a better future. The alumni program is one of the best parts of my current journey along with the quarterly tune ups where we get to see our amazing community and the opportunity to give back to others.

I can't believe the whining in some of the posts Back in the 80s the choice was cold turkey detox and shut up and listen. We have evolved but, the addicts are spoiled brats.

I had a really memorable experience. Totally changed my mindset in a positive way. Dr. Chanter was great along with the other therapists, nurses and staff. I stayed for 37 days but wouldn’t mind staying longer if I needed to. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. I also heard the other locations are great as well.

All the staff were professional, kind, knowledgeable and helpful with every aspect of my recovery. Group therapy was organized and meaningful. Individual counselors provided great support for me and my family. The after care plan is amazing and supportive once you leave the inpatient stay.

I attended the 30 day program, Very good program, although I relapsed , and was taught well enough that ,in the same yr 1995, I went into 2 more TX programs and have been clean off heroin since ! Yay..STEPS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE..FYI..THANK YOU NEW BRIDGE COUNSELOR WAS MARIAH

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!! I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" Would recommend to anyone who has the desire to change their life. Tools that will last me a lifetime and helped me learn to take accountability. Perfection isn’t possible when dealing with a lot of people who are sick, but they do a darn good job. I felt important. I felt that they always had my best interest at heart. Special shout out to all of the counselors and milieu staff who work their butts off!
