EDITED REVIEW: Please disregard the latest review. I am posting this review to offset the below as I am a successful case from Recovery Beach. This place is seriously worth your time. I was there October 17th - November 17th. I can wholeheartedly say that this place is life changing. If you want to make a change, put in the effort and turn your life around, then this is the spot. The meetings can be up and down, but if you have a notebook and pay attention, it’s so worth it. Paxton was one of my FAVORITES. Super engaging and funny as hell! The staff is so awesome too! You wake up, make your bed, get ready for the day, have your coffee and meetings all day. Some days there are outings and when you do have them it’s so fun. Lots of walks around the community. The more you follow the guidelines, the better off you’ll be! It can be hard sometimes but mutual respect is everything here. Liz was super attentive and genuinely cared about my long term success. I still chat with her to this day and she checks in on me which is amazing! Brandi, Andres, Kris, Alex, etc were always there to make stuff fun as well. They saw me through my highs and lows but always made sure I was okay. Big shout out to Corey as well! He still reaches out to me to check on my success. It’s really awesome to have a case manager that genuinely cares almost a year out! If you want it to work, it will work. And: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

When an individual is in denial about their substance use disorder, their loved ones may organize a drug intervention in California. This effort involves gently but assertively confronting the individual about their substance use and sharing how it has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist may also attend this gathering. Their expertise with intervention services can prove helpful in guiding the conversation to a positive result.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

The goal of creative arts therapy in California is to encourage growth and transformation. It can be used in individual and group settings with both children and adults. Options include movement, music, and painting.

The use of experiential therapy can be helpful for the treatment of behavioral disorders, including drug and alcohol addiction. This method teaches you how to release negative emotions and cope with pain from the past. Activities such as art, music, and animal care are used to facilitate this process.

Truly life-changing!

Healing with Heart

After losing my husband, I felt so lost. Recovery Beach didn’t rush me. The detox was gentle, and they understood grief in a way that really touched me. I made friends my age which helped so much. Meals were so-so but overall, I started healing again.

Found Strength Here

Recovery Beach helped me rediscover who I am. They didn’t just treat the addiction, they gave me tools to lead again. Loved the gym time and sharing my story with younger guys. Food was okay, not great, but the growth I got? Priceless.

I was there in November and December of last year. Laura (the kitchen cook), Paxton, Jason, Alex, Jimmy, and Brandy are the only people I have positive things to say about. Apparently, there were eviction notices taped to all the doors the week before I arrived because they hadn’t paid rent in months. The owner is some Russian/Ukranian dude who was more concerned about renovations than talking with patients. They rarely take you out on walks, they’re very short staffed, communication is awful, arbitrary rules are a common practice, and rooms are limited. I was stuck in detox for over two weeks because of this. We were supposed to meet with a therapist and case manager at least twice a week, most of us were lucky to meet once every two weeks. I’ve been to other rehabs, this one is sub par. Paxton was the highlight of it all, though. Learned more from him than anyone else in my years of recovery. Don’t recommend if you have other options.

My boyfriend got into this place they were very helpful at first but they didn't end up getting him what he needed. When he first checked into this place the staff of the gentleman there that made a comment about my boyfriend's cologne about how it was his favorite brand. This place logs all your personal property which they're supposed to do, but when my boyfriend decided to leave that this place wasn't for him they wouldn't allow him to take his personal property he had to come back another day and get it which is not how it's supposed to go. We went back a few months later to get his property which thank god they still had, my boyfriend goes to open his backpack and there is nothing in it. They stole his personal property. So if you were to come to this place don't bring anything that you value because they might steal it or not give it to you if you decide to leave that if it's not fit for you. Also Ethan is very unprofessional.

Most of the glowing reviews are made by persons that have only one review, possibly two or three reviews on Google's map. I question the validity Intake smooth and efficient. Outtake chaotic and inefficient. The people in the med room have attitudes sometimes. Laura is a great chef. I only had one bad meal and that's because she wasn't there and it was prepared by staff. It was chili dogs. Don't even bother with the chili dogs. If you want to trim your toenails, you're out of luck. They only have fingernail clippers. I wish I could remember the director's name but he makes promises he can't keep. My room did not have window coverings and they ordered them but failed to order a rod to hang the window covering so they nailed up the panel. What a joke!

I knew where to come when I needed to return a second time. First time around I just came with the will to stop using and only left with that after 14 days. Having the will was not enough. That was only enough to get me through the door. I returned and came with that same will but also the want to understand and work the program. Recovery Beach has given me faith and the tools to work the program and remain sober.

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's wonderful to hear that Recovery Beach provided you with not only the support but also the tools and understanding to work the program and maintain sobriety. We're here for you on this journey and wish you continued success.

Overall my stay (90 days) at RB was amazing. These folks at Recovery Beach really have your best interest in mind body and spirit. Between the amazing food (which cost me an extra 20lbs) the amazing nurturing nurses and staff as well as massage therapist weekly, you couldn't ask for more. Never the less the groups run by Blue and Paxton are insiteful and really help set the tone for a positive learning and growing experience. 5 stars all day long for me I truly recommend RB (from one addict to another)

Response from the owner
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, Brandie! We're delighted to hear that your 90-day stay with us was such a positive and nourishing! experience, from our dedicated nurses and staff to the insightful groups led by Blue and Paxton. Your kind words mean a lot to us and will hopefully encourage others in need to find their path to recovery here at Recovery Beach.
