This place was my saving grace, and gave me a second chance in life. I lost my kids due to drugs, and because of GHW, I was able to get on the right track back to having them home with me again. Gibson House for Women gave me my life back! My counselor, Danielle, was and will always be my angel. She had my back from day 1, and was always on top of things. All of the counselors are amazing - they all really do care and most have been down the same roads so they know what you're going through. I was housed with 30 other woman here, and every single one of them became my sober sisters - the most incredible group of women I've ever met iny life. We all had each other to lean on during those times of hardship, and comfort was always there. This place truly is magical, and I can't thank GHW, and the women I went through treatment with enough for everything they've done for me. It was a miracle I ended up here, and the program wasn't exactly easy, but I needed their strict structure at the time, and am so grateful for it. My advice to anyone reading this is STICK WITH IT! IT'S SO WORTH THE REWARDS IN THE END. Don't let anyone take you out of character and destroy the peace you so much deserve. Drugs and alcohol were how I coped with the emotional distress I had been long experiencing and during my time at IVRS the staff, the structure, and the atmosphere provided me with an atmosphere that I could make a lasting change. Today, I am not just sober; I am at happy & at peace. I don't miss the days I used to abuse drugs/alcohol and that is an absolute miracle. I am so grateful for the staff that dedicated their lives and careers to being of service to those struggling with addiction.
