About Inland Family Community Health Center

Inland Behavioral and Health Services is a complete family health hub. They offer medical care, dentistry, OB-GYN, and substance abuse treatments. They have multiple locations in California, including this one in San Bernadino.

Behavioral Health Treatment in San Bernardino

At all their locations, Inland Behavioral and Health Services provides a unique way of supporting clients with behavioral health needs.

They use the SBIRT model. This stands for screening, brief intervention, and referral and treatment. This method ensures that patients get the right treatment quickly and effectively.

These services are free as part of your medical visit. Or you can come for these services without being a medical patient.

Medical patients at Inland are able to also access psychotherapy. A dedicated mental health clinician can work with you to overcome challenges such as reducing stress and worry, coping with loss, grief and trauma and managing symptoms of mental illness.

They accept Medi-Cal, Medicare, Molina, IEHP, and some other insurance providers. They also provide a sliding scale discount for clients without coverage.

Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment in California

In San Bernardino, Inland also runs the Westside Counseling Center. Here, staff provide prevention and outpatient drug and alcohol services.

I like that they provide services dedicated to youth between 12 and 17 and for people who are re-entering after incarceration. They run a 16-week DUI program for first-time offenders who have been court-ordered to take a class.

Here, you can get substance use assessments, counseling and education, crisis interventions, and case management services. They also host women’s NA meetings here.

Still sick after 3 weeks after she said it's just a basic cold and i told her its much more severe than that Avoid her Dr. Rohini Thothala!! Her bedside manner is horrible. She’s extremely condescending. Laughing saying we got another one while calling security because I complained about the terrible service. They don’t even bother checking you at all. They examine u for 2 mins give you a few medicine’s and that’s it so if your severely sick your just left to suffer. Dentists messed up on my teeth and now there damaged so now I have to go to other dental care to get it fixed. Not allowed to voice any complaints or they get butthurt call security and threaten to kick you out.

This is so upsetting to me. I came in to the Urgent Care and was seen by Dr. Wayne. My reason for visit is back pain, 9/10 pain. I may have pulled a muscle or something while working out at home or after when I was stretching. This is day 3 of my back pain and it stays at 9/10 pain level. I came in today to get seen, hopefully get medication and see what may be happening. Also, I wanted help getting accommodations for work. (I work at Amazon). Dr. Wayne kept telling me he's not a "work comp doctor" and cannot give me accommodations/restrictions for work and kept repeating he's not a work comp doctor. 1st of all this injury isn't work related so it has nothing to do with work comp. 2nd you're a doctor, you most definitely have the right to give accommodations. My employer stated that this isn't work related and I have to see my physician and get accommodations, our on-site medical representatives themselves told me to see my physician ASAP and get these accommodations because work will just add more to the pain and it would be harder to recover. So I'm here crying out of anger and feeling helpless. I will be filing a complaint because this is 100% not okay, you are a Doctor, do your job and help your patients! You've given me restrictions before while I was pregnant and now that I'm not, you can't give me restrictions.? This my safety and health. I don't understand.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensfity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. CalWORKS is an intensive outpatient rehabilitation program at Inland Family Community Health Center focusing on empowering men and women to adopt a healthy, drug-free life style so they can successfully enter into the workforce.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Substances can prevent the absorption of nutrients and cause damage to your body's systems. Nutrition therapy in California addresses the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that are caused by substance abuse.

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

The goal of creative arts therapy in California is to encourage growth and transformation. It can be used in individual and group settings with both children and adults. Options include movement, music, and painting.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

They've gone way down in their level of service since all the COVID over reach. I've encountered rude staff (not everyone), bureaucratic excuses, and sub par service the few times I've been there recently. It's a shame they've gone to practicing socialized medicine, and are too hurried to be genuinely concerned with their patients. I avoid this place like the plague anymore. 👎👎

Went for a dentist appointment a month ago, late review lol. Let me just say the assistants were amazing and really comfortable to be around. Overall they made my visit really nice. The front desk lady was nice as well. The lady dentist though was NOT it and she smelled like armpits. She was really rude and her comments made me feel like I was being bullied by some mean girl in high-school.
