I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. Doctor Kayman is extremely knowledgeable about the brain and the counseling staff is amazing as well, always offering a listening ear and great advice to help any problems that may arise while in treatment. Updated my file set an appointment for me. I felt a lot better than before I spoke to Him. The fact that Thomas was there to answer my phone call means everything to me. I'm able to take the necessary steps to move forward. Had I called and a recording came on it would have been a whole different attitude with me during this time. I flew my sibling across the country the following day. He is now a completely different person and recovering. They literally saved his life. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They do things the right way. Kind, caring, but firm. Fair price. They know what they are doing. As a seasoned trial attorney, I can tell the fakers from the real deal. These guys are the real deal. When I first read the reviews for this facility, I was very nervous to be sent there. So much so that I asked the nurses where I was staying to try and make other arrangements. I was afraid of the theft and mistreatment of patients that some other reviews have mentioned. But that was not my experience. I spent four and a half days there. And I will tell you that it is what you make of it. If you go in entitled and expecting to see lots of bad things, then you will. And while I saw some unruly patients and encounters with dirty toilets, I did find the staff to be quite professional. When I had concerns and respectfully voiced them, they listened and made effort to adjust for me. I made some very heartfelt connections with some of the other patients. People from all walks of life. What we all had in common was some kind of trauma. And it's true, misery loves company. The key to getting better is BE POSITIVE! I call some of my fellow patients dear friends, brothers and sisters who helped me heal and in return I did what I could to be supportive and understanding of their individual situations. Going back to the staff, I felt i was heard by the entire staff. As long as you are polite and don't stir up trouble, you will be fine. Work with the staff. They don't want you there any longer than you want to be there. Open yourself up to listen to what they have to say. Allow yourself to heal. It is a fairly good chance that when you are discharged, the problems that brought you there are still there. But you come out with some coping tools, some support systems to lean on and hopefully, some friends who can be there when you are feeling low. This was my very first time on a 72 hour hold in a psychiatric facility so of course I was really nervous. The floor staff is amazing and very comforting. There was times where I was emotional and they would give me a hug and give me words of encouragement. The nurses are so sweet and really listened to what I needed. I felt very seen and heard by my social worker and psychiatrist. They really worked with me on a great treatment plan. I felt very happy here. The food was really good and I was very well fed. All the staff here is amazing. I loved the activities they had for us. I got to do drawing, outdoor time, coloring, yoga, etc. I enjoyed my time here very much and if any of the staff are seeing this review I just want to say THANK YOU. You all truly saved my life. They are so endearing and sweet and made this process so much fun during a time when I was not feeling like myself! I really miss seeing them every day, they made everything go by so quickly. TMS really helped my depression where I didn’t have to load up on medication. I truly feel like myself again. I haven’t felt like this in a long time. It does hurt a little bit, but not like in a painful way more like clamp down on your jaw kind of way if that makes sense. If you’re reading this review, I hope you give it a try and get well soon.
