I went there in November of 2024 because I was desperate to get help. They were very helpful with getting me there, checking with me before I got there, and making sure I didn't change my mind about going (as most of us do when It comes to getting sober). I had an awesome time there, the staff was great (they had their off days, as us alcoholics/addicts do). We were busy most all day every day. They take you to the gym 3x a week, they do panels, and outside meetings as well. The facility itself is clean, there's laundry machines, snacks & coffee on deck 24/7, they take you to the vape shop and wal mart once a week, and they are working on more outside activities. There were tvs and DVD players in every unit with a TON of dvds. No bed time so you are free to roam around the facility or chill and watch TV. The groups got a little boring (but if you are with a good group of guys they are a lot of fun and informative). The way insurance and every thing works was a little frustrating because it's on a weekly basis if you stay on the treatment side or go to phase 2. You are allowed your phone 3x a day for a hour each time. The units are awesome, it is an apartment (if you go try to get into the one above the kitchen on the left haha). Mike who is one of the main dudes is an awesome person! I am currently on day 63 and if it weren't for the lighthouse I would most likely be either dead or in the process of drinking myself to death. If you are in need of help, do the hard thing and ask for it. The money, job, or whatever it is that is keeping you from going won't be there much longer if you continue to do what you're doing. I love you all and hope this helps!

I would like to express my gratitude to the Lighthouse and all the staff who had helped me and guided me. I stayed at the Lighthouse for about 90 days and in that timeframe I was able to receive one on one Care meet with a therapist. All my needs were met. Everyone went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. I am forever grateful for this facility and being there for me at a time when I needed it the most.Thank you, Stephanie and Julie for holding my hands as I walk through those doors!

This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Lighthouse Treatment Center offers a comfortable social model detox environment in a home-like setting. Their Ambulatory Detox facility is located on their Residential Campus in Anaheim, California, near Disneyland and just a short drive from the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful Orange County beaches.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

A dual diagnosis refers to someone who suffers from two separate but intertwined conditions. One is a substance abuse problem such as cocaine or heroin addiction. The other condition is a mental illness like depression, bipolar disorder or severe anxiety. Being able to determine if someone has a dual diagnosis is often difficult because substance abuse can mask or mimic the symptoms of mental illnesses. It may be hard to provide an accurate diagnosis of the mental condition even if one is suspected. A person with a mental condition is often adept at hiding problems so they may be a highly-functioning addict with few signs for others to see.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Families are almost always effected by advanced addiction. Addiction is called “a family disease” for a good reason. The family of an addict tends to suffer almost as much as the addict themselves. It is at this time the disease has progressed to a crisis level. Thankfully, there is a solution to the families pain. Families need healthy ways to cope with the pain and chaos addiction has caused. At Lighthouse Treatment Center, they provide an opportunity for new beginnings and healing for families affected by drug and alcohol addiction.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Substances can prevent the absorption of nutrients and cause damage to your body's systems. Nutrition therapy in California addresses the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that are caused by substance abuse.

The goal of creative arts therapy in California is to encourage growth and transformation. It can be used in individual and group settings with both children and adults. Options include movement, music, and painting.

I am changing my review. After being there for 3 days only.i decided to leave the light house. There's no reason to be there, nothing helpful. After 2 years, they sent a bill that I own over 300$extra. But in the time I stayed there, my kaiser insurance paid for it. My husband paid 800 $ deductible. Something is wrong there, and shady behind........ Thank you very much for your help, and there is no help....Good luck!!!

Their treatment program is good, with the facilitators, therapist, and counselors being kind and supportive. However their administrative department that handles any FMLA, short term disability, return to work forms or documents needed are horrendous. They do not follow up with calls, documents needed, or helping facilitation with employers. They keep providing false promises with any forms and calls, and basically seem just satisfied with getting approval for payments from your insurance company for treatment. I do not recommend this location. If you decide to be a part of their program, ensure they complete any documents needed or you will not get any assistance.

My experience at the Lighthouse has been life changing. I was picked up from my house by Noah (Driver), he assured me I would be okay and kept me calm the entire hour ride. He even came back to check on me the next day to make sure I was doing okay. My first morning the first person from the staff to wake me was Cynthia. A very patient and caring woman. She made sure I took my meds on time every morning and was always willing to listen if I was having a rough day. She would do a morning check in with us daily. My counselor Melissa was also amazing. She had an open door policy and always went above and beyond to help me in my journey at the Lighthouse, she really made a huge difference for me, in showing her dedication to all of our care and success in the program. Jessica (support staff) always lead a great group and would even come back to bring us nice quotes and words of affirmation to keep. Leanna the afternoon staff was also very supportive and encouraging throughout my treatment. The food was prepared fresh daily and more than I ever expected. A big thank you to Sonia (kitchen staff) for her hard work keeping up with all our requests and always doing it gracefully and with a big smile on her face. I also had a great experience with Charles (driver). He would take us on our Wal-Mart runs and doctor appointments and every ride was uplifting. He is a funny man, but also someone who would always ask how I was doing in the program and gave words of encouragement. I want to give a special thank you to Mr. Tom Wolfe, director of the Lighthouse. His compassion for all of us is something that shows in his actions. He visits the different houses and always shows that he also has an open door policy and is willing to go the extra mile for our recovery. The Lighthouse has been a blessing for many.

Lighthouse was instrumental in helping me recover. The facility was always clean and nice. Staff was friendly and supportive. All of the staff were great but Mike, Austin, Lisette, and Stacy were extremely helpful, many thanks to them. Food was good, day trips to meetings and appointments were always taken care of ahead of time. The day groups were informative and outside activities a nice distraction. Yoga with Christine was also a nice way to relax and trips to the gym a few times a week. Lighthouse really encourages building relationships and fellowship with fellow clients and alumni.

When I was at the Lighthouse, I always had the emotional support I needed. The staff was always willing to help me as I went through tough days. Tiffany a driver got me through a particularly hard day. Her joyful attitude and her experience in recovery inspired me not to lose faith in God when I feel hopless. Thank you Tiffy!

This rehab contains many programs to address newcomers and aftercare. The direct support staff is very in touch with the clients as they also went though addiction. The Alumni program run by Heidi is great! It provides activities and sober meetings to keep clients connected after leaving the program
