About Apple Valley Counseling Services, LLC

The facility’s website states that they accept most insurance forms and prioritize getting you into treatment as soon as possible.

The staff at Apple Valley Counseling Services strive to help clients overcome chemical dependencies as well as domestic violence trauma. To equip clients, the facility offers both individual and group therapy, specific domestic violence counseling, drug and alcohol groups and aftercare counseling.

One of the most impressive things about this facility is that it has more than 100 reviews from past clients yet it maintains a very high rating. Past clients tend to mention the skills and education they acquired by going through the program. They often state how these skills not only helped them overcome their problems at the time but continue to be useful in new scenarios.

Another interesting thing about this facility is that they focus on disassociating from drugs, alcohol or stressful situations that could trigger the client into making poor decisions. Apple Valley also believes in the power of perseverance. Addiction is hard and recovery is hard but you can persevere and heal.

Apple Valley Counseling Services is approved by the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Services and the Division of Alcohol & Substance Use Disorder.

Accepted Insurance

Apple Valley Counseling Services, LLC works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment emphasize the importance of personalized care. Your therapist works with you to understand your unique life experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms to address your underlying issues. This comprehensive approach to recovery is the foundation of drug rehab.

One goal of family therapy is to provide a platform where members have a safe place to talk about the challenges that addiction has created in their lives. Using guided sessions, therapists help individual family members develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues between themselves to support their loved one's sobriety.

My niece went in and thought they replied to her review a counsel whom the owner went and got to talk to her came out and told her just looking at the criminal record not full charges or even taking the time to hear the explanation of why the charges said exactly this and she was recording the conversation " Well by looking at the charges (he didnt know the outcome of said charges) I would have to say 12 months treatment. Which after the response of them now saying different after being called out they stated they will recommend 12 month treatment though the charges they have no idea so yes they will no.matter what even talking to the person seeking help already have their minds made up my nephew will follow through with the evaluation and the state health board is fully aware at this time the practice they are using and are waiting for the outcome of the assessment to see if they have to step in. Thank-you valley for answering and now putting a response to protect what you did let's just hope you actually give my nephew a chance though im sure treatment with be recommend because money is money and we all have to survive. But patients and their needs should come first

I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anybody because what they do is they go based off the criminal record not about the incident they know nothing about what takes place when it comes to domestic violence evaluations they want to recommend treatment cuz that's a way for them to get paid charging $40 a week for sessions offering a 12-month program it's not about them figuring out what really happened or talking to the person they're going to recommend treatment no matter what the person I went in to talk to them about I had the police report they looked up his criminal record and because there was violations of a restraining order of him calling home to talk to his children and because it was the number was registered under the victim's name they don't know the whole situation there was no they say there's no way around it the funny thing is though is the person I went in there to speak to them about and the victim have no history they're basing it off of past history an assault that happened 20 years ago if not more which is crazy the gentleman that does the domestic violence evaluations and program program wanted to tell me Bagel based off of the criminal records how fair is that so nobody stands a chance they want to charge you $300 for an evaluation when they already have their minds made up they haven't even talked to the person yet but simply just told me that's what they're going to recommend based on his criminal history that's biased they have no clue at all about the situation or the fact that the victim advocated for him the victim has been to court several times with the restraining order dropped but they want to recommend treatment because they get paid for that they don't take State insurance they don't take private insurance what they do for the domestic violence evaluation they charge you $300 and then they're going to recommend treatment $40 a week for 1 year maybe their drug programs different but I would not go to them for a DV evaluation because you're not going to get the answers you're looking for you're going to get what makes them money I also just spoke with two other credited Devi evaluation centers who said that they see it off of a criminal record is biased an unethical of them to do it could be part of a deciding factor but it's also based on talking to the person and knowing the situation so obviously these people are out to get your money still be very very careful

Response from the owner
Hi Raven,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your experience. We want to clarify that domestic violence evaluations in Washington State must follow WAC 388-60A and RCW 26.50, which legally require us to consider criminal history, police reports, and other documentation—in addition to speaking directly with the client—when assessing risk and determining recommendations.

Our evaluators do not make pre-judgments. Rather, we are obligated to follow a state-approved, evidence-based process to assess patterns of behavior, risk factors, and compliance with protective orders. A history of similar offenses, including no-contact order violations, must be reviewed under state law.

Additionally, insurance (including Medicaid and private plans) does not cover domestic violence evaluations or treatment, as these services are classified as court-ordered behavioral interventions, not medically necessary services. This is a state-wide policy, not unique to our organization.

We understand this process can be frustrating and encourage anyone with questions to reach out. We also welcome second opinions from other state-certified DV providers. Our goal is always to remain compliant, transparent, and fair while prioritizing safety and accountability.
