AA – Alcoholicos Anonimos – Grupo 3 Legados, meeting in Van Nuys, California, offers community-based recovery programs for those struggling with addictions, particularly alcohol. Meetings may be open to all or closed to AA members only and are conducted in Spanish.
AA is a national program well-known for helping those struggling with alcohol use. The 12 Steps help participants maintain sobriety, and there are 12 Traditions that govern the organization itself. There are a variety of different meetings that the Grupo 3 Legados might offer, such as speaker, discussion, newcomer, Big Book, and sober living.
Individuals who join AA in the Grupo 3 Legados make a commitment to give up alcohol permanently and are supported by an individual sponsor and by the group. The Grupo 3 Legados may participate in community service projects and offers recovery education about spiritual growth, coping skills, communication, and self-care.
AA doesn’t charge fees, although they may take a freewill offering. Participants may be referred to additional treatment, like outpatient alcohol or drug rehab, that does take private insurance plans like Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, ComPsych, Beacon, and Bright Health.
