About Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills

Beaumont Hospital, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a clinic that offers behavioral health services, including support for substance use disorders. I appreciate that they have both inpatient and outpatient options to ensure that everyone gets the care they need, regardless of where they are on their recovery journey.

Inpatient Treatment in Michigan

For inpatient care, upon entering hospitalization, you’ll be treated by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Your support staff will include nurses, psychiatrists and medical physicians who are available around the clock. You’ll also receive support from social workers, activity therapists and dietitians to address all aspects of your recovery. Their overall goal is to help transition you into their partial hospitalization or outpatient program as quickly as possible.

Psychiatric and Dual Diagnosis Care

They also offer outpatient treatment for people with less severe cases of addiction. You’ll still receive the same high-quality care but with the advantage of being able to return home and attend work or school. They also provide general adult psychiatric treatments. Options include psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Additionally, they offer mental health treatment for the community, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression and related disorders like OCD and bipolar disorder.

Without being too verbose I will get to the point. I recently had to go on oxygen 24/7 and on May 19, 2026 we lost power at home due to severe thunderstorms in the area. I did not have enough portable O2 because I didn’t know when power would be restored so I called 911. And because it was an EMT service from Farmington Hills they were obligated to take me to Corewell. My usual is Trinity. Anyhow at Corewell they had to do a blood draw. No exaggeration, the worse blood draw in my 67 years of life. At one point the phlebotomist, only a title, had the needle in top of my forearm and it felt like she was fishing around for a vein; she didn’t find one and someone else drew the blood. So that was May 19, and this it what it still looks like today.

The doctors and nurses in the ICU were incredible. Once my loved one was moved to a regular room, however, everything fell apart. From the unprofessional behavior of nurses and lack of care to rehab/case management team members being uncoordinated, unhelpful, and inconsistent, it's been a terrible experience for our whole family, but especially for the patient.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients receiving care at an outpatient rehab remain in their own homes and attend treatment as often as daily, depending on the level of need. Outpatient care generally consists of psychotherapy, addiction education, life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many outpatient treatment centers provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient services. Some outpatient rehabs also offer ambulatory medical detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I went there for our appointment that was set at 10:30 for today when I got there the young lady told me they booked the appointment for 10:00 AM which was a lie I asked for a supervisor the supervisor came out she wanted to arguing instead of making things right not only that when I asked for a manager so she said she was a manager too so I asked for the director got no help horrible hospital do not book here they will book you online and say that your appointment was at a different time. Another woman walked in and said the same thing they booked her for our appointment and claim she was 15 minutes late when she knew what time her appointment was like I did so I’m not the only one they need to be closed.

My husband is a patient at Corwell Health Now! So far I really like this Hospital! He was at Sinai Grace! Please! Never go there! I'm Not just putting that Hospital down, honest! The staff at Sinai Grace are sooo incompetent! They will let you or cause you to DIE! They're lazy & just don't care! There's a few that are ok, but the majority, No-Way! Sinai Grace-That's a Sad Story but it's Sooo True! The vibe at Corwell Health is much more positive! I kid you not, the Doctors & Nurses are way more attentive to their patients! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, for the Best!
