About Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills

Beaumont Hospital, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a clinic that offers behavioral health services, including support for substance use disorders. I appreciate that they have both inpatient and outpatient options to ensure that everyone gets the care they need, regardless of where they are on their recovery journey.

Inpatient Treatment in Michigan

For inpatient care, upon entering hospitalization, you’ll be treated by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Your support staff will include nurses, psychiatrists and medical physicians who are available around the clock. You’ll also receive support from social workers, activity therapists and dietitians to address all aspects of your recovery. Their overall goal is to help transition you into their partial hospitalization or outpatient program as quickly as possible.

Psychiatric and Dual Diagnosis Care

They also offer outpatient treatment for people with less severe cases of addiction. You’ll still receive the same high-quality care but with the advantage of being able to return home and attend work or school. They also provide general adult psychiatric treatments. Options include psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Additionally, they offer mental health treatment for the community, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression and related disorders like OCD and bipolar disorder.

On this day 6-4-2024... (4 am to 4:30am) I took my fiance to the ER at Bostsford Hospital in Farmington....and was extremely disappointed in how they run there emergency room ..When I arrived it was a ghost town only one patient waiting to be service..which was good because my fiance was potentially having a heart attack he had a procedure done at Bostsford on Monday and I took him back to Bostsford because they knew his situation. I drove all the way from Melvindale,Mi to Farmington, Mi thinking we making the right decision at a crucial time... I check him in and we wait..and he's getting worse I tell the check in reception and she tells me to knock on the Triage door for assistance of course NOBODY answered.. I wait and told my fiance to sit closer to the triage door to make it more easier to get right back there. He tells me again he's about to pass out my chest has a very SHARP pain passing through. I Knock on the door again NO ONE CAME. Next a security guard shows up and ask what's the problem, I told him he's possibly having a heart attack he tells me..to be patient there's another person in the traige area. I was flabbergasted it was heart breaking situation to know that NOBODY CARED about this man and his situation...When I tell you a GHOST TOWN nobody was waiting and they didn't CARE. Nobody came to see if I needed assistance or anything...as he became worse I told him we have to go I have to get you some medical attention.. With a broken heart I let him lean on me and we left and went to another hospital Beaumont Oakwood where they immediately rush him to the back. SHAME ON YOU BOSTSFORD 😢 NEVER AGAIN WILL I RETURN.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving care at an outpatient rehab remain in their own homes and attend treatment as often as daily, depending on the level of need. Outpatient care generally consists of psychotherapy, addiction education, life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many outpatient treatment centers provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient services. Some outpatient rehabs also offer ambulatory medical detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Horrible experience went through ER May22 with flu symptoms and chills and was told per aftercare paperwork I had hypertension fast forward symptoms never stopped actually 2x worse went through ER May 23 the doctors did not care about anything I described was my issue THE NURSES HEARD ME! And finally CT scan was was done found what the actual problem was was admitted every single time I asked to speak with a doctor the Dr comes in for about 20 seconds ignores me then leaves and nothing eles but THE NURSES HEARD ME was discharged on the 26th barley feeling better came back 3 days later through ER my condition did not change scans showed my condition had become surgical worthy saw a Dr. Smiles for 30secs that couldn't even look me in the eye after 15 hours I had finally been placed in a room with no actual understanding of what were my options just left in pain with orders from a Dr Fertel of no food and drink when finally came across the Dr. I expressed my concern through pain and agony and was met with a stale stare and apparent irritation after that point I decided to fire him THE NURSES ARE NOT PAID ENOUGH every nurse i encounter heard my cry rubbed my back when vomiting cleaned me up gave the best possible care they could I could go on but I rather save the better parts for my lawyer

I called the office desk number to book an appointment. The lady who spoke to me was very rude. Someone who just moved newly into the area, is not a US citizen, so doesn't know how healthcare works here, is calling to get treated and be relieved of the pain. And you speak to them so rudely instead of explaining things patiently. She spoke properly in the first 10 secs. But RACISM at its peak the minute they notice your accent. I literally had to cut the call midway listening to the tone she was using to speak to me.

If I could take the 1 star away based on my recent visit, I would. I experienced what I believed to be a life threatening situation that caused me to have temporary paralysis and the doctor on duty, Dr. Lin, barely listened to me, she lacks empathy and was more concerned with offering me pain meds and discharging me, than trying to hear me out, I didn’t go there for pain meds, I went there because I couldn’t walk/move I was attempting to explain to her, and her response was “we are not here for every little problem, we are here for emergencies.” I avoid hospitals like the plague but have recently had some health challenges that’s been alarming and very concerning. I just pray that I don’t have to go back to this hospital, this wasn’t a good experience.

Went to the ER because I was having some bowel pain. They were treating as many people as they could despite not having a single bed left! I had an IV and was allowed to sit with my boyfriend in the ER hallway to wait for an ultrasound. I was 6 weeks pregnant but already had plans to abort that day. They performed ultra sounds to make sure I wasn’t ectopic and then I was out in a few hours with nausea meds and laxatives! The ENTIRE ER staff was super welcoming, kind, and on board with my decision too which made me feel so much better. Dr. Warpinski, thank you for making my experience as comfortable and painless as possible. I hope you get LOTS of recognition for your upbeat attitude and kindness towards patients.

I called the lab to ask if they received my lab orders from my doctor, you have to leave a voicemail and wait at least 24 hrs for a returned call and when I did receive a call the lady was very rude! I've had labs done here before and they are not that damn busy to where someone can't answer the phone. What a joke! I'll just go to Henry Ford where things are much more convenient.

My father was discharged from St Mary's after three admissions and was in worse shape than when it all started. He ended up here after we refused to go back to St Mary's. The Corwell ER team diagnosed and treated something new we'd never heard of that was due to an antibiotic interaction. He improved immediately and steadily for 5 days and was discharged...still getting better by the day. We were furious when he was sent away knowing he wasn't ready but it was the best thing that happened. I belive if he'd stayed at St Mary's he would have died there. Thank you Corwell team

This review is for Dr. Sabiha Omar, MD I saw Dr. Omar during my hospitalization. I will say as a person who works in the medical field that she is extremely rude, will argue with you, will make a false diagnoses after speaking with you for about 5-10 minutes and will try to put you on an insane amount of medications based on false diagnoses, she has no bedside manners and needs to retire. Please do not listen to her and get a second opinion from a different doctor, she will cause you more harm than help you. I know myself very well especially since I work in the medical field. She told me I was bipolar after speaking with me for 10 minutes, I had a previous psychiatrist rule out that I was bipolar and only have depression and anxiety. Be very cautious with this doctor, very irresponsible as she just does whatever she wants. Corewell health should keep an eye on her. Assessment of a patients usually takes 1-2 visits. Therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists usually have to get to know their patients to make a diagnoses. She will make a false diagnosis within minutes. Her goal seems to see as many patients as possible to send in claims and make money but that is how our healthcare system is! She had no bedside manners and was verbally aggressive during this consultation.
