Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.
Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care
Inpatient rehabilitation is typically recommended for people who have complex medical conditions where they are recovering from a serious injury or a stroke and would benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. Inpatient rehab physical means that the patient sleeps at the hospital or an inpatient rehab facility due to the severity of the injury. During their stay, the patient receives treatment from medical practitioners for several hours a day. It’s ideal for people who have experienced a serious medical event and require inpatient rehab physical therapy before transitioning back to life at home.
Treatments
Neurological physiotherapy assesses and treats people with disorders of the central nervous system that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Neurological therapy is used to treat conditions such as brain injury, concussion, stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, balance and vestibular conditions. Neuro physical therapy works to stimulate the nervous system through therapeutic activities designed to help a patient learn new ways to move. Treatment plans are unique to individual conditions and focus on improving cardiovascular function, strength, movement, balance and overall coordination.
Clinical Services
Exercise therapy (also known as active rehabilitation) consists of a regimen of physical activities prescribed by a physiotherapist to help a patient recover from conditions that impact movement and quality of life. Physical therapy exercise is used to address both common and more complex injuries and conditions. It focuses on moving the body and its different parts to relieve symptoms, improve mobility and levels of fitness. This includes gait training, neuro re‐education and customized therapeutic exercises designed to improve agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, range of motion, strength and muscle endurance and performance-specific activity.
