I sat on this review for a while.... I never had any behavioral nor mental concerns until my incident -- and I was referred to Douglas County Behavioral Health. I understand that this is a free clinic but at least have doctors in here who cares enough to remember how delicate these patients are when seeking medical assistance. Dr. "Ajayi" yelled at ME when the front desk had to rescheduled my appointment to draw blood, because HE was on vacation. During the recovery of my break down I found Dr. Ajayi was deflecting and throwing my incident back in my face while speaking in frustration, alot -- I felt like he was trying to make me react in a aggressive way back which was extremely unacceptable with the mental state I was in. My father and I were shocked at witnessing that type of treatment we recieved being under Dr. Ajayi "care" Dr. Ajayi was very condescending belittling, and dismissive as he chose to ignore my symptoms therefore I canceled my very last appointment with him after he stated natural medications like CBD was apparently "Voodoo" and insinuated that I was wrong for seeking advice about it. I was diagnosed with Sleep deprivation, Depression, Chronic stress, and PTSD and was properly prescribed with medication, I can handle, by another medical facility. If you cannot afford better health care at least request another doctor if you have to come here.

I've been a patient for some time. Over twenty years is say.i missed a couple of appointments when my husband got sick. He had to have surgery and was in bad shape. When I went back they said I owed late fees and I was jobless at that time so I couldn't go back. They have always been free visits for me but something changes when they moved offices. Dr hawk was my doctor but five years later I go back and try AP again and they have me a different Dr and she had all these great ideas about what d she could let me try for meds. I was on one medication for years and years but she wanted to change it up. She put me on five different meds. Week long long story short when I wasn't talking my meds I got into legal trouble well I had t drug test so I listed my pills I was taking as I'm sitting in the court room my public defender and the district attorney came out and asked me was i really taking all those pills I said yes. The district attorney said you need to go to your doctor and get them to check those again because two of those pills you are taking could kill you. I was shocked. Iwent back to my doctor's office to talk to my doctor about it and at first she shook her head and said no he's not a doctor he's a lawyer blah blah blah I watched her as we were talking and she was looking the medications up on her computer and anyway long story short again she gave me another prescription with just one pill and took me off all the others then I was told I needed to do a reassessment so I made an appointment when I made the appointment they told me that I didn't have the appointment when I showed up and I've been going to him all year long this year and all the sudden I don't have any insurance covering their bills. Definitely looking into getting an attorney because this has caused me lots of problems health-wise that I've been going through ever since and also mentally very unstable. If I were you I would never ever go back to the doctor's office again and I will stay as far away from him as I can because all they're doing is just taking people off the street and putting them in as doctors.

Been going here for 3 years . Not one person here cares about your actual well being . The folks that work here are here to collect a paycheck and could care less about helping make a difference in peoples lives.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Addiction treatment programs in Georgia help individuals to address substance abuse problems. With various programs available, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs, you can find the right level of care for your specific needs. You can generally expect drug and alcohol rehab to incorporate evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), skills training, recovery meetings, and mindfulness-based therapy. When combined, these interventions can successfully help you overcome addiction and continue to enjoy long-term mental health.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
