About BHG — Grand Bay Treatment Center

BHG Grand Bay Treatment Center used to be known as Gulf Coast Treatment Center. It’s an outpatient opioid treatment facility in Grand Bay, Alabama. The services available at this facility include medication assisted recovery and addiction counseling. Clients can pay for treatment with Medicare and Medicaid.

Withdrawal Management With FDA Approved Medications

Methadone and Suboxone are both approved by the FDA to assist with managing symptoms of withdrawal, such as headaches, nausea, and muscle aches. You’ll undergo a medical screening and assessment to determine the best treatment option for your needs. If medical professionals choose to treat you with Methadone, you’ll meet regularly at the treatment center to receive your dosage.

Once you’ve stabilized, you’ll earn take home privileges. Clients who are prescribed Suboxone will be given a prescription to fill at a local pharmacy and won’t have to go to the treatment center as frequently.

Addiction Counseling to Manage Cravings

Addiction counseling will focus on helping you identify and manage your triggers without the use of opioids. The facility provides group, individual and family therapy. The primary therapeutic approach that your counselor will use is cognitive behavioral therapy.

CBT can help you adjust negative thoughts that contribute to your addiction. You’ll also learn to develop stress management techniques that can help you cope with your cravings.

BHG Grand Bay Treatment Center is about thirty minutes away from Mobile. When you’re not at the facility, you can visit the town to check out the History Museum of Mobile and the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

They should be a minus 5 considering your excepting payments from a hacker from stolen accounts that clearly arent in his name and he only has my phone and my tap to pay where you should require a physical card and id especially from a man paying with a cleary womans name and acct when the names have no association especially! Disputes filed with police and the stolen phone sonny sprinkle is using to take money from my acct was even blacklisted and isnt active except on wifi be prepared for a lawsuit if its not refunded and hes not discontinued as a patient. Ill send proof direct but you should havent accepted it to begin with!!!!

I reported this place to the State board, they drain insurances like medicad and others. I noticed a few days I didn't go they still charged medicad. Legal drug dealers, hopefully they will get closed down, they have lost all the good people anyways! Transfer to dip now before they close!

Accepted Insurance

BHG — Grand Bay Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Alabama provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for drug dependency. Methods of treatment often include a combination of medication, counseling, and recreational therapies.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Place is a joke. Ppl selling their take home bottles right in the parking lot. I knew a guy here who had 2 week take homes and would sell them all for dope. He pretended he had a job and was never caught. They are extremely outdated in their dosing methods.

About 2 years ago the clinic I was attending was shutting down. So I decided to transfer to BHG Grand Bay facility. I was very concerned about if I would remain at my current level within the program because I've never transferred before. This facility was amazing and making it swift and easy, and told me I would not have to start over and could continue with where I left off at the previous clinic. I was worried about coming here due to the mixed reviews I have read and heard about this place, but am glad I came here instead of the other options. I live an hour away, and staff is very understanding and hears me out when needed. They try and make sure everyone is treated equally and in and out as quick as possible. Hiccups do happen, but all in all it's a great place, and new positive changes are happening. Carly the new Director is awesome, and very involved to ensure everyone is heard and knows she/they care. The nurses and pharmacist are great and Ingrid the front desk receptionist is on point. I can't speak for everyone, but as for me, my experience has been great, the staff treats me with respect and listens to any concerns, very laid back, but not to be mistaken that they are about their business and following the rules. As long as you do your part, they will do theirs to help. I would Definitely recommend this place if you are looking to start your recovery journey. Big thanks and shout out to all the Staff at BHG Grand Bay, thanks for your dedication and all that you do to help make my life better!

Unfortunately, BHG has not been in compliance with state. And instead of taking any responsibility, the strategy is to blame the patients. So it doesn't matter if a patient has been coming here for 10 years following all the rules or a few weeks and following all the rules, they will falsey blame you for any and everything. It is impossible to protect yourself because the staff is constantly changing. Methadone is a life saving treatment and there just aren't enough treatment facilities. It's so unfortunate that this director and BHG is so reckless with people's lives and their recovery.

Used to be a great place . Now I can't stand the place . They don't tell you this but when you go there they also charge you for the days to don't show up. So if anything happens and you can't get your medicine you still get charged . Crazy thing is they won't tell you until get a couple hundred in the hole then pop on it you. On top of that the first time it was told I owed 200+ , then I got a receipt a week later after missing no days with 300+ , after long they said it was 240+ again after never paying anything on it. You have to be careful with these people now, they do stuff like that then their answer usually is you're wrong even if you show proof of it , or it's "our system messes up sometimes" but won't do anything to fix it they jus expect you to be ok with that . Place is a joke . They can't keep nurses or counselors, the only good ones they had/have leave because they couldn't/can't take it anymore. Corey and Angela was the best thing to happen to that place, things were smooth when they came in and then they pushed them right out the door. I'm definitely going to a different place.

This place use to be a good clinic and never had any problems or anything but for some reason they are saying things are in my UA that clearly is impossible I even showed proof of the stuff that I'm prescribed that it can cause a false positive but NO these "smart" people don't want to be shown up specially by someone beneath them (that's how some of the people there treat you) I've had nothing but problem after problem starting in August 2024 NEVER IN 12 YEARS HAVE I EVER WENT THROUGH THE DISRESPECT THAT I HAVE ENDURED SINCE ITS CHANGED, The Pharmacist don't even get me started on her. Someone needs to inform her just bc someone shows you something that you obviously didn't know about doesn't mean their trying to show you up it's just trying to inform you in something you obviously had no clue about. The new lady that's head yeah she needs some better people skills, idk if it's bc we are going there bc we needed help getting off of PRESCRIBED MEDICATION FROM OUR DOCTOR that makes you think your better than all of us, but I hate to break it to you your not!, we're ALL HUMAN!!!!!

Transferred here from other BHG. I didn’t even know this clinic existed initially, or that there WAS another BHG. They are wonderful here. So compassionate and thorough. I am so excited to see how my treatment goes through this clinic, they even are coordinating my treatment w my other doctors and keeping them updated on my treatment plan.

All I can say is this clinic changed my life in so many ways.I moved to Alabama from Indiana and was promptly told I was on enough OxyContin to kill an elephant. No DOCTOR WOULD SEE ME UNTIL OFF OF THE OXYCONTIN. So I ended up here on Methadone,,, the most amazing thing happened after 20+ years on OxyContin for RSD…I was able to hold my 17year old sons hand for the 1st time PAIN FREE. I was so embarrassed to be there but the staff and other patients are the kindest people I have ever met. I highly recommend this place.
