Very dirty and extremely disgusting not clean at all. Watched a person who was very sick sit on a bed drooling all over the place basically leaving all body fluids in the bed, get meds and then moved somewhere else or sent home. Then they put a new person on the same bed without changing the bedding or whipping anything down, i was completely horrified. And as for our care the doctor did not know what they were talking about and made up some BS Diagnosis, thank God one of the newest nurse that wasn't from here did not agree with it and called a different doctor who contacted a specialist to help. This hospital and staff have no care for their patients and only cares about who sleeping with who at the nurse station, or how high they got over the weekend and when the next helicopter is coming in so they don't have to care for the patient anymore. Someone please close this place down it's got to be breaking all kinds of heath code laws. And when you do make a complaint with them they blame it on being short staffed

Zero care Zero cleanliness I have a strong cough. They didn't do all the tests. It took me 6 hours. After that, they said Go to the pharmacy and take any medicine. There's nothing we can do for you." The doctor came and checked my heart rate and left. He didn't ask me anything. The hospital is bad. I'd rather go to Mobil. There's better care.

I can not express how grateful and impressed I am with the care I received in the ER at Atmore Community Hospital. This morning (12/7/2024) I was brought to Atmore Community Hospital ER by my friend after waking up in the early morning hours with severe abdominal pain and vomiting blood. Due to my extensive medical history I knew I needed immediate medical attention. As an ER Nurse with 21 years experience in level one trauma centers to smaller community hospital, the care and level of skills and competencies was beyond anything I could have imagined! This facility and team truly made me feel like I could trust them with my life, which is exactly the scenario I was in this morning. I can not say enough about how grateful I am to Atmore Community Hospital! This is the exactly the kind of facility I not only trust my care with, but moreover a facility I would be honored to work for! However due to the seriousness of my illness, Atmore ER staff had to transfer me to USA Medical Center in Mobile for higher level of care and services not available at Atmore. Every moment I spent in the ER at Atmore Community Hospital I continuously monitored, pain and nausea levels were assessed and treated!!! Again words can not express how thankful I am to the Emergency Department staff at Atmore Community Hospital!A VERY SPECIAL AND PERSONAL THANK YOU TO:Dr. O-Gorman MD (ER Attending Physician)Whitney BSN-RN (ER Nurse)Jenna BSN-RN (ER Nurse)Again my sincerest Thanks,Jeremy RaslerNA-C,CCT-C,CMT-C,CRAT-C,CVT,CES-A,CES-P

Levels of Care

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

This is one of the worst emergency rooms I've ever been at. There was a young technician girl in there yesterday who was nice (as well as a nurse named Shelly Jo) but the nurse Jamie and Holly were awful, as well as one of the doctors seen, (there were two because of shift change). Jamie was rude to me and a Spanish speaking patient in the room next to me. He also hurried out of the room when I was mid sentence trying to ask about my care, which I couldn't believe, so he could watch the game on his computer with another nurse. When I told someone what was happening, they spoke with Holly (without my knowledge) and she said "Well were you there? How do you know it really happened?!" (Essentially calling me a liar, and in no way trying to understand or help the situation.) I kept asking the nurses about the next step of my care and they kept saying they would ask the doctor. When I finally asked to speak to the doctor, after waiting about half an hour, the second doctor came in and I asked him myself. I asked him what's next? A CT scan or something else? The only thing he said was "we are going to take care of you" and hurried out the room. I kept getting no answers. As a patient I have the right to be informed about my care. But they just kept putting me off. Also, I waited over an hour to get into the CT scan, (which is usually understandable except they ended up telling me the CT scanner was down and one of the nurses added that they had known all day that it was down.) So I was waiting over an hour for nothing. (She also said they had tried it on a couple recent patients to see if it was working yet and it was not showing clearly). I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to have a call light but if there was one attached to the wall it was nowhere near my bed so I had to keep raising my voice for anyone to hear me. I had no privacy cuz the curtain was open the whole time. There were just so many things wrong that you shouldn't have to go through when you go to the emergency room.

This hospital should be shut down! It is the most filthiest hospital I’ve ever seen. They did not do proper testing nor did they work with the concerns I had with dehydration, and not only that I’d became ill with the flu after visiting there. When I was admitted they put me in, a bed that was filthy and the sheet wasn’t changed. When the Orderly came in to change it. The nurse said to forget it. I’ve been sick for a week since I left there. I was in there for high blood pressure and apparent dehydration with panic attack. Please buy all means go to a different hospital.

I couldn't help but to come here to brag on Cassey Surls, in radiology. I had to go in for an ultrasound because I was in so much pain. Scared of what they'd find, my anxiety and heart rate was through the roof. She was so reassuring and patient with me. She calmed my worries and helped me through what should have a been, but wasn't for me, a simple process. Such a sweet person with a soul full of hospitality and love. Thank you for being you!💜

I twisted my ankle one day and it was really swollen so my Dr sent me to the hospital for X-rays, I went and was xrayed by a young woman that clearly didn’t want to be there, then the Dr came in and wasn’t much better. Told me to follow up with my Dr in a day or two. I went to my Dr to see what the xray showed but was told that the hospital wouldn’t release it . The Dr even called and , nope, they wouldn’t release it. The only thing I’ve received from that waste of a trip was the bill. I don’t feel that I should have to pay for a useless waste of my time. They did nothing for my ankle. Sure they did an X-ray but I was never told anything .I hobbled around for weeks until it got better.Unless it’s a matter of life or death, I’ll just drive to another hospital, I hear wonderful things about Bay Minette.
