About Pyramid Healthcare Inc. – Hammonton

Pyramid Healthcare offers medical detox, medication assisted treatment, residential treatment and speciality treatment. Some of the most notable residential treatment programs available at the clinic involve counseling service, holistic therapies, recreational outdoor activities, anger management courses, life skills workshops, motivational interviewing, individual or group counseling and case management services.

Holistic treatment programs at the facility include courses that focus on hiking, meditation, yoga and nutrition management. Personal financial management training is also available, and there are programs designed specifically for patients with an extensive criminal history.

One important thing I noticed about this facility is their response to negative online feedback. Rather than denying criticism, the facility responds in a way that’s both empathetic and understanding. It appears that the staff is interested in constantly improving, upgrading their processes, and changing any policies that cause more harm than good.

The majority of the staff in this location were beyond helpful. I started in detox for a few days and have no complaints. I received one on one counseling sessions once I got to short term which were very effective and I learned a lot from my counselor, who was also in recovery and definitely went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable in the facility. The group counseling sessions were smaller in size which helps create a more comfortable environment. The food was okay but I will say that the cafeteria staff are wildly unprofessional and had a tendency to go off at the mouth if clients bothered them and showed real favoritism which made the whole dining experience a total mess. No reason to cop an attitude with or even yell at newly recovering addicts who are simply trying to eat. Also the clinical staff allow people to really behave inappropriately without addressing it. Overt discrimination, threats of violence, and being confrontational towards other clients seems to be perfectly acceptable here. The techs are spread very thin and a lot is expected of them. They did the best they can but yes, it can leave you feeling unheard / ignored entirely as they are dealing with so many little issues each moment. People got kicked out for defending themselves against verbal attacks while the ones doing the attacking just remained in the unit. Very unsettling. Clinical staff, 5/5. BHTs, 2 / 5. Shout out to Tyreek, Matt, Lyna, Will, Chelsea, *Alice*, Lynda and Toby (probably forgetting some) Y’all are some real good ones and made my stay tolerable. Thank you

I honestly cannot give this place even a star but I had to so I can post this. This place is a complete money grab for Medicaid. I showed up from a short term detox to be thrown into chaos. I was shown my room with no sheets, blankets or pillow and left to fend for myself. I walked into the hall and was completely ignored by the two individuals supposedly in charge of 30 women on the floor. I was sent there with mental health issues and alcohol addiction. I waited for an hour and a half to get my medication and was told they didn't have it. But was offered melatonin and tylenol. The next day I discharged myself AMA. Today, I had to go on their website to get their phone number regarding my medication and I'm seeing what is on their website. Except for the main entrance, every picture is false. The place is covered in stained carpeting, riddled with flies, my room smelled horribly, my bathroom toilet I shared with 2 other women was covered in urine. There was absolutely no structure, guidance or mental help at all. There was supposed to be an AA Meeting my first night there but instead the staff decided the game "two truths and a lie" was more appropriate. Next morning, was chaos once again. I was visibly upset but was completely ignored by the aids. I was sitting in the hallway crying and told staff I was feeling suicidal and she said "OK, I'll tell someone." There was one group at 10am. The group leader read a passage from some religious book, two people responded, then everyone started talking about Halloween for about 10 minutes which lead to the group leader (a supposed trained counselor) showing pictures of her son who was recently thrown out of school because he had an explosive in his backpack. After that incident, I knew I wasn't going to receive the help I needed, so I discharged myself AMA. Just because you have to depend on Medicaid for insurance, doesn't mean you should be treated like this. I have been a productive member of society as a paralegal and paying taxes since the age of sixteen. I started working in the 80's and back then if you had a decent job, which I had while going to college full time and paying for it myself, you had health benefits. I'm just disgusted.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive a full continuum of care while continuing to live at home. They're often ideal for clients who are stepping down from inpatient care but some clients may prefer to transition into outpatient treatment immediately after completing detox. Many outpatient facilities also offer ambulatory medical detox for low-risk clients. Outpatient treatment generally includes psychotherapy and life skills training. Clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.

Participants in 12 step programs engage in a rigorous process of personal growth as a cornerstone of long-term recovery. They are expected to attend anonymous, peer-led 12 step meetings, which are free, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation is not required. Self-selected peer sponsors mentor participants as they work through the 12 steps, learning forgiveness, understanding, acceptance, and accountability.

24-hour clinical care in New Jersey provides a setting where you can withdraw from alcohol or drugs under close monitoring of experienced medical staff. These trained professionals can intervene at any time if needed. They can prescribe medications to reduce cravings and physical discomfort. Mental health professionals are also available to address any emotional and psychological challenges you experience as you begin your recovery journey.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Pyramid saved my life. 30 year addict they helped to get my life back and break the chains of active addiction. I am so grateful an thankful for this program. Counselor Christy taught me so much about life, my emotions, addiction an the whys of what I do. She truly is an angel disguised as Rehab counselor. Without her help I woulda left many times over. I am forever in debt to her and this program. Most of the staff truly care about my recovery. Christy showed me what a safe place is an gave me hope when I was hopeless. THANK YOU !!!!
