⚠️ Warning about Aviva Mental Health Services ⚠️ Please be careful if you’re considering Aviva for therapy services. They have terrible communication between staff and patients, and it seems they cannot keep staff for long, likely because of the same problems I experienced. The owner was rude, dismissive, and not a good listener, which is especially concerning for an organization built on therapy and trust. Even after I showed proof that their therapist lied on documentation, the owner took no accountability. It also feels as though this organization set up shop not to truly help people, but to take advantage of the very community it is supposed to serve. In addition, there were three staff members who actually represented the community Aviva claims to serve, but none of them stayed, I wonder why. I’ve already reported Aviva to the state and filed a grievance with my son’s insurance company. In my opinion, this organization is not serving families with honesty, respect, or professionalism.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.

A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Personalized therapy sessions in Pennsylvania typically include a safe and nonjudgmental setting in which you can express your deepest emotions and feelings and explore the factors that have contributed to addiction. Therapists tailor the sessions to help you develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors, which improve your self control and build a foundation for your long term sobriety.

Family therapy teaches individual family members in Pennsylvania the benefits of collectively combating addiction. Therapists help individual members establish healthy boundaries between themselves and their loved one who is struggling with addiction. This helps improve emotional support systems and creates a bond so families work together to sustain long term recovery.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Took my daughter here for an intake appointment for out patient therapy. She was given a man and she did not want an man. She feels more comfortable with a woman. He told her to just try because she couldn't have a female therapist. They also don't have virtual. You have to go in every week. Also, he literally talked to her for less than 5 minutes and was discussing medication he wanted to put her on. He didn't even speak clear English. Absolutely inappropriate for a man to tell a young woman she has to have a man therapist she wasn't comfortable with. DO NOT GO HERE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE PLACE IS FILTHY.
