About BrightQuest Treatment Centers – Nashville

BrightQuest Treatment Centers – Nashville is a Joint Commission accredited mental health support program. It’s designed for adults seeking residential and general outpatient programs. They also provide specialized co-occurring disorder care. This center does not follow a strict timetable for treatment but instead gauges success through progress. They are located in Nashville, Tennessee.

BrightQuest’s treatment program focuses on social connection and life skills development. The residential center has cultivated a positive social atmosphere to help you feel more at ease while participating in individual and group based therapies. The social aspect is important because such connections can help reduce the chance of relapse.

But BrightQuest’s methods are unique in another way. The residence is a voluntary program. There’s no commitment on your part if you don’t feel the program is right for you, or if you feel like you’re ready to leave. I like this approach because it takes some of the stigma away from treatment and can make long term treatment less intimidating.

BEFORE CHOOSING BQ PLEASE READcoming from an ex-client of 8 months who was kicked out same day without warning for missing a group where we watched a movie.anything admissions tells you is a lie. getting your phone after 2 weeks, contacting your parents after a month, getting a single room, etc etc. i can promise you 75% of the information given to you at admission is false or misleading.this place has the worst communication of anywhere i ve ever been. one staff member will tell you something and none of the other staff will know and then accuse you of splitting meaning you will be punished. this is a facility and program built on expecting perfection and giving punishments when that is not met. it teaches you to be quiet, do not advocate for yourself or you will receive punishment, they shame you for mistakes, they take phones, keys, walking ability, nicotine, and more. Even when it will affect your job and future, if you are late to house check, don t make your bed, or miss a group you will be reprimanded in a way that the punishment does not fit the crime.I was kicked out after being here for 8 months because i missed a group in which we watched Coco the movie. they gave me no resources. they kicked me out the same day they told me what was happening with no time to prepare.the lies that they call miscommunications that are told here is really jaw dropping and disheartening. the amount of times we are told information for it to later be revealed as a lie is insurmountable.there is a new head in charge and she could not possibly care less about the clients if she tried. every therapist on my team fought like hell for me to be able to stay until i found a new facility and kamaria, the new woman in charge, vetoed the decision. she ignores every recommendation presented by the therapists as her ego gets in the way of kindness and compassion.if your child is being put in level 1 i recommend you take them somewhere else. clients who have been to jail have compared it to jail. they isolate you completely and strip you of every right you have.the groups themselves have no substance in them and are simply used to fill time. the therapy is subpar at best, with the exception of a very few handful of therapists and support staff. the good ones are really remarkable, but they have no real say when the head of the program completely disregards everything recommendation they give.this place makes you feel small, disposable, and they take away the voice we all fought to get back. they teach you if you aren t perfect then you are a failure. if you aren t a cookie cutter client, you will fail in life. they interfere with our futures and negatively impact all of us.8 months ago i would have recommended this place to anyone. they were fantastic and truly cared about my well being. but since the administration change, i wouldn t recommend this to my worst enemy. the lack of care, empathy, or support given here is astounding and heartbreaking.i m not saying any of this out of anger or resentment, but purely as a warning to all who want to send their kids here

The team at BrightQuest provides high quality care to a population that may other programs fail to adequately serve. The attention and care provided, especially to the families, is second to none. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who has a loved one struggling with mental health.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive care without leaving their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically receive intensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Many programs promote clients' long-term sobriety through recovery-focused life skills training and ancillary services, such as peer coaching. Medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance, are common in outpatient care. Most facilities offer multiple levels of care to accommodate clients' evolving needs, including intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient programming.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
When enrolld in an addiction recovery program that's based on the 12 step model, clients are able to cultivate recovery-focused life skills emphasizing spiritual, mental, and emotional healing. Participants receive intensive peer support in 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, open to the public, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors guide sponsees through the recovery journey, cultivating self-awareness, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, participants aren't required to be religiously affiliated.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive outpatient option for those with moderate to severe addictions, allowing you to return home at the end of the day. It can be an alternative to hospitalization or used as a step-down option. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for an average of 90 days. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. PHP treatment is often covered by providers.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy is a safe place to work through the lingering effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist will help you understand the physical and emotional responses that can develop after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. You then work toward developing healthier coping mechanisms to reduce your symptoms.

While engaged in couples therapy in Tennessee, you'll learn how to trust, communicate, forgive, and manage emotions. Developing these skills can be beneficial at any time during the relationship, but they are particularly crucial when facing life challenges.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Many individuals who are experiencing addiction are extremely malnourished. This is due to negative patterns that develop during active addiction. Nutrition therapy helps break these negative patterns and teaches you to develop healthy ones that will help you sustain sobriety long term.

Creative arts therapy can be integrated with other therapeutic methods during drug rehab in Tennessee. This treatment can provide unique experiences that allow you to better understand your feelings and experiences. Methods include music, art, dance, and writing therapy.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Would not recommend this facility. My daughter was apart of the program very briefly and it was none the less, hell. According to her, Staff are not trained or supported very well and I can see how chaos could fluctuate. There was a period of time where the “houses” didn’t have food and they turned a blind eye. She explained that the therapists did minimal work and only cared about the program “structure” in their sessions. I’m honestly aggravated that my husbands family has paid so much money for our daughter to be treated inhumanely and tricked. We feel tricked. She explained the houses are filthy no matter how much them and staff clean. People smoke in the houses, and other clients have relations during the day and nights when program is not running. She told us her staff told her about a client that was having a relationship with staff. This place is disgusting. Who really runs it? Where are the supervisors? I saw a comment down this thread about the place being ran by ex convicts and addicts which aligns with what my daughter has told me and how things get handled. It is blatant what this place is. Do not recommend for 15-40k a month. We will never get that back or the time wasted.

Think Stanford Prison Experiment run by mostly 20-something's. . . Note: I wrote a scathing review and then took it down. I decided to repost this upon realizing that their rating had been upped all the way up to ⭐⭐⭐ , most-likely boosted by "professional" folks who have never experienced the BrightQuest client experience. Anyways, I felt like I had to put my foot down and re-post a review. Lucky for me, they seemingly picked favorites in that my experience could have been much worse. Their lovely, seemingly-a-cult experience with their sage inhalation and over-emphasis on their "Milieu Community Model" which encouraged snitching and also consisted of policing their clients over their sharing of vapes. The organization decided to put their foot down and crack down, ironically degrading the mental health of their own nicotine-famished clients. In different words, they may have been using power to somehow make clients "better." Upon asking my parents to get me out of the place, they told me that it was either BrightQuest or homelessness. I soon found out that they may have been coercing my parents as many other clients had been told the same thing. Two of the clients I knew were homeless (last I knew), so they potentially clearly knew what they were doing with regards to that. Fun fact: this "sober living program" was inspired by an Ayahuasca trip.. You can't make this stuff up. I don't care how rich you just might be, this place doesn't deserve your money.

I spent 6 months here and didn't feel it did any good, I was restricted and punished often for unnecessary reasons. The staff and therapists are condescending and inexperienced, it's an obvious example of how mental health is a business scheme and it's all based on money. Take my advice seriously and don't consider sending your loved ones here.

This program engages in emotional and verbal abuse as well as medical neglect and still have nightmares about it. I was a resident for about a year and a half and they kept me manic for the money and told my parents I was doing better while the mania was progressing. Ultimately they they decided I was too far gone to “help”. I got the help I needed from a therapist and a psychiatrist that knew what they were doing after getting out and now I am the most stable I’ve ever been. They forced me to endure a UTI for about two months. The UTI got so bad I was bleeding. The only reason was taken to the doctor was because I was finally able to tell my parents. They also forced me to do Orange Theory as well as other intense fitness despite having a condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome that makes the arches of my feet collapse and causes chronic pain throughout my entire body. They refused to accommodate me and the consequences of not doing it was going into debt by $15. The allowance that you set for your kids ends up going to BrightQuest if they are too depressed to attend group or if they are sick. I was also constantly gaslighted, punished for not being able to control myself even though I was in a manic episode and could not. When I was suicidal I was told I wasn’t and when I said I needed to go to the hospital they said no (I wasn’t the only client this happened to). They also pit clients against each other. For example we had an activity where a therapist would call out something like “standby a client that you would like to get to know better” then it would get more intense and end with stuff like “now stand next to a client who you do not believe represents the BrightQuest community values” or “stand next to a client who you don’t feel safe around”. Also, the way they treat the support staff is horrific. They are given measly pay and are treated like they are nothing just like many of the clients. The staff who are kind and compassionate either left or “turned bad” in order to keep their jobs. Please do not call me about the review like you did after my fiancé’s review. We don’t want to speak to you and neither do the other clients who left a one star review.
