Dr. Kitsis is everything you hope for in a primary care doctor. He's very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He's patient yet proficient. You can just see the wheels spinning as he's listening to me listing my symptoms. I feel well cared for by the time I leave.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I went to the ED at St Mary’s Ozaukee at 6:14 PM July 19 of 2023 for dizziness ……14 hours later after an overnight stay at St Francis because Ozaukee’s MRI was down and the ambulance transport was unavailable until after 10 to get me to St Francis. Then after trying to sleep on an exam table in the ED transport was again not available until 7:30 to bring me back by 8 with no food only water offered the whole time. Delayed further on release once back in Ozaukee because no one was available to read the results finally leaving at 9:30 7/20. After numerous contacts by phone into CS, and the ED along with emails they called me and agreed to remove all charges in Jan 2024 the Second not original ED Director nurse informed me by phone but not in writing. There was no invoice amount due to pay on my account after that phone call. I made all other service payments due since then promptly. Then April 2025, 14 months later I receive a copy of a balance due, not an invoice, threatening collection after having no contact by phone, email, or mail including a letter that was supposedly mailed in Jan 2024 that was inconsistent with the call I had with the ED director waiving all charges that I never received until now. I responded to CS 800 in India and was called back by the third ED nurse director who replaced the second one from 1/2024. Last week I got a final letter from President John Joyce saying the final bill is outstanding and nothing further than the St Francis MRI procedure would be removed with NO responses to my questions about why I had NO CONTACT FROM ANYONE IN ANY FORM ABOUT THIS BILL FOR OVER 14 MONTHS since Jan 2024 until April of 2025 threatening me with collection. I guess it’s very important to collect all monies due regardless of patient experience. So I came in person to pay the disputed bill in full at the front desk today. The very nice person at the front desk also had to get help from her supervisor just to take my payment being made in person because even she could see the amount on one screen but there was no way to pay it by CC normally. I spent 25 minutes to get that done. The doctor’s, nurses, and staff were all great and did their very best and I have no complaints about any of them!!! Thank you all very much!! The billing systems and the lack of genuine empathy or appropriate financial acknowledgement by top leadership for what was a terrible 14 hour ED experience is disappointing coming from a faith based hospital corp. Sadly ,Not once was I ever asked this simple empathetic question by anyone : What could we do to make this right and respect your time and trust that you placed in us? I share this for your awareness and so you can go in for care informed. Godspeed to you!!

I would NOT recommend using Ascension doctors and hospitals. If you ask a question at your annual physical they will charge you for 2 appointments because they claim that is not part of an annual physical. Even if it is something minor that you wouldn't otherwise see a doctor for. Billing is extremely difficult to work with. Instead of trying to fix an issue, they just tell you that you do not know your insurance coverage. Even if you are paying regularly on a bill they will send it to collections. They are not willing to work with you, it's their way out the highway. I will now have to look for different doctors. They asked that I fill out their form, which I did before reviewing and nobody has reached out.

I would give no stars if possible. The actual care was fine, but they have mishandled my billing so incredibly incompetently. I’ve had to call their customer service dozens of times about it. The long and short is that they could not figure out how to send the bill to my insurance (think about how insane that is for a medical provider) but assured me over and over that they would resolve the issue and the bill would not get sent to collections. Guess what happened next? The bill was sent to collections. So I call them 4-5 more times and each time they assured me they would pull it back from collections. On my latest call they told me they had gotten it back from collections, even though the collection agency is still calling me. If you value your sanity, do not use any Ascension org.
