I am writing to express my serious concern regarding Dr. Stanley Kalish’s behavior during a surgical procedure on December 3, 2025. An employee, who is my niece, reported experiencing multiple racial jokes and slurs directed towards African Americans while working alongside him. As the only black individual in the room, she felt invisible as Dr. Kalish complimented every Caucasian colleague present, making the environment uncomfortable and disrespectful. His attempt to justify his comments by mentioning past comedy performances only added to the distress. Despite her polite request for him to stop, he continued, leaving her feeling disrespected and constrained. This type of behavior is unacceptable in any professional setting, especially in a healthcare environment that should prioritize respect and dignity for all. I urge the management at Emory Hospital to address this matter seriously and take appropriate action against Dr. Kalish to ensure such incidents are not tolerated in the future. Thank you for your attention to this important issue

This is the worst hospital visit I’ve ever had. They put me in a room with poop in the toilet just sitting. I’ve been here exactly 24 hours and relief for my pain

I had an AWESOME experience from the Cardiovascular Team yesterday during my Cardioversion procedure. The entire staff was super friendly and made me feel as If I was being taken care of by a family member. My procedure started on time and the outcome was perfect. THANK YOU Ms. Daveta, Ms. Kym, Ms. Gloria, Ms Blanche, & Ms. Cielle!!!!!!!!!!

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
