About Epiphany Family Services, LLC

You’ll find Epiphany Family Services, LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina, the “Queen City.” Since 2010 this outpatient treatment facility has provided substance abuse and addiction services for adults and adolescents. You’ll benefit from flexible short and long term programs to meet you where you are in recovery.

Outpatient care allows you to live at home and attend treatment while caring for other responsibilities. You can access intensive or standard programs for your unique needs. They provide individual and group therapy to help you get to the root cause of addiction. These approaches can help you build essential coping skills to sustain recovery.

Comprehensive Care for Gambling Addiction

What stands out most to me is they offer gambling addiction treatment. While often overlooked gambling addiction can be just as harmful to your overall well being as drugs and alcohol. They ensure you receive personalized care to gain the tools to change your behaviors and reach recovery.

Helping You Address DWI Charges

Another standout feature that caught my eye was their DWI services. If you’re facing a DWI charge you can participate in court ordered assessments. They help you understand the underlying factors and causes of your DWI. You’ll benefit from guidance to determine if treatment is a good next step for your situation, and they’ll help you explore potential options.

Experiences from Previous Clients

Many former clients enjoyed their services. While some expressed frustration with a high turnover of providers most clients mentioned a friendly staff that was dedicated to helping them work through challenges and reach recovery.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Family therapy sessions address the emotional toll that addiction has had on the family unit and individual members. Therapists work with families to develop better coping strategies, which in turn create a stable environment for their loved one's recovery process.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Accreditations

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is a non-profit organization that specifically accredits rehab organizations. Founded in 1966, CARF's, mission is to help service providers like rehab facilities maintain high standards of care.

CARF Accreditation: Yes

Hi my name is Alison and I've been a client with Epiphany since Febuary 2025 , I'm very grateful for having this program available to me, I was in a crisis in my addiction , homeless and they accepted me into one of the sober living houses that helped save my life after suffering pnemonia in December 2024 close to death . Mrs. LASHAWN , Mr. Bernard, Mr. STERLLING , Mr. KENYATTA , DR. MASON, MS. CANDISE are all awesome and THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO! I've been attending substance abuse treatment Monday-Friday 10am - 2pm, everyday ,three months now, Counselor Lacrisha has been very condescending towards me and gaslighting any help I've attempted in front of 20 other clients , such as making more coffee due to the increased clients she rudely stops me with no explanation of her behavior towards me , or simply draining condensation out of the small ac unit they have in the small classroom in order for it to function properly or it cuts off and gets hot in a room of 20 plus quickly. (No thanks from her or anyone ever when i do fix it everytime, ) always has a condescending reaction towards me with a smurky" know it all "attitude that comes off as sarcastic and unempathetic , unaware of any accomplishments, I've decided to withdraw from processing in her classes. I wish there was a better female counselor, this lady comes off the wrong way and is leading other women to believe that behavior is acceptable, me being the only Caucasian female in this society of treatment is very difficult to say the least.

Dr.Mason lays it on the line and I like that. I'd rather have a kind and courteous counselor than someone beating around the bush. I've only seen him several times but to this point I think it has helped.

I wanted to edit my last review since it was made before I knew most of the details, I was unaware some councilors still worked at my location( due to them working at other locations). My review should not have been made so hastily or in anger. Stephanie has helped me understand that my sobriety is not due to anyone but me, tho they provide support an the tools to help me through what I'm going through an continue to teach me how to cope with life in a sober way, only myself can keep me sober. I'm am thankful even tho many have left my location She has remained here. I'm am glad to meet new faces an greet new opportunities with an open mind. It would not be right to judge the program as a whole off one issue because I have seen first hand the program help change lives.
