She befriended "Will" long before he was willing to seek help. He was never alone in life because she checked on him regularly and gently coaxed him into getting the help that he desperately needed. Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run. As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.". How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? I had some bumps along the way until I met Evie Dillard. She was so helpful to me by giving me extra resources to get ready to exit treatment. I’m talking about food, shelter and even information about great jobs. I started working, got a place to rest my and made great friend for life. Thank you so much, Evie. Shamar Marquis 1 year ago Lemme tell you about the housing situation 1st. I read the good reviews and the horrible and the bad kinda concerned me. I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS. There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need. The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them. You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind! Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers. I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts. Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail ( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog) And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony! Everyone is welcome here from all ages and walks of life. I felt safe, supported, and encouraged here as a person of color with a unique immigrant & cultural background, and as a member of the LGBT community. The therapy incorporates several modalities, including DBT, CBT, Somatic, and Art. The staff made learning skills accessible, engaging, and actually interesting. I appreciated being challenged and I learned skills I hope to keep for life. Working with the somatic therapist they have at Pasadena was beyond amazing. A once in a lifetime experience that I could not have thought to even ask for. I loved the art therapy as well. There is also processing time two-three times a week with the group, and therapists are always available if you need extra one on one support. I really appreciated that unlike other places, Pasadena does not let any one patient dominate the entire processing time. Staff makes sure that everyone who wants to share has equal time and space, that no triggering details are discussed, and that it is supportive without going on forever or taking time away from skill learning or other groups. Shout out to my therapist Shawna for being amazing, as well as Keyonte for his calm kind supportive energy, Carly for always being engaging and encouraging and validating of my background, and Julia for being awesome and sweet! Felicia is an incredible therapist. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and great at creating a group environment that feels both safe and accountable. She gives you practical tools and skills while also knowing how to get the group engaged and talking. Gianni was also always welcoming and helpful at the front desk. I really appreciated having an evening option that works for people with 9-to-5 jobs. My only suggestion would be to better accommodate evening participants with dinner or more substantial snack options, similar to the daytime programs. After a full workday, it’s a big commitment to attend several hours of programming, and having food available would make it easier to stay focused and present. However, when I was placed in contact with Harmony Recovery Center OMG! Ms. Evelyn Contacted me, and she had done all the leg work on her side and let me know in detail all that was needed from me to get my husband admitted. Needless to say, the transition was smoother than butter! In a matter of hours not days he was in! They stayed in contact with us through our travels. The staff was super welcoming and supportive! From the moment we arrived in the ER, we were taken back very quickly, and when my husband passed out, the team responded immediately & urgently. What stood out to me most was the kindness of the nursing staff. I was SUPER anxious during our time in the ER, and multiple nurses took the time to comfort and reassure me even though I wasn't the patient. They absolutely did not have to do that, and I won't forget how kind they were during a really terrifying experience. Throughout our entire stay, the nurses were compassionate, responsive, and didn't make me feel guilty/like a burden for asking a ton of questions. At times, I would have appreciated a bit more explanation about what was happening, test results, and what to expect next. We ultimately left with some questions about why my husband had become as sick as he did, although I recognize that there isn't always a clear answer. Overall, we still felt very well cared for throughout his stay. Most importantly, everyone we encountered was SO kind and compassionate, and when my husband truly needed immediate attention, the team responded quickly. I'm especially grateful to the ER and nursing staff for taking such good care of him, and for the compassion they showed me during a very scary experience! Most importantly, I highly recommend considering staying for the long run and completing 30-45 days of residential treatment. I have seen several people return to detox in the 26 days I have been here. I just graduated to PHP and have gained so much insight through the residential groups and the people leading them. This is my 5th time in inpatient treatment, but my first with CCR- I have learned things that I had never heard of after many extensive stays with other facilities. Plus, you'll find that you'll create a whole new rehab family of your own. Huge shout out to Miss Mary, Ben, CW, Scott, Matt, Nataly, EMMA, Justina, Daniel, DJ, Frances, Hollie, Precious, Rebecca, Beth, Carla, Alexis, and SO many other countless gems who keep the building running. Royal Hall 3 weeks ago Dr. Sutherland is a legendary. From the day I fist went to see him, at 20 years old or so, he took an interest and involved care in my mental health. When I was hospitalized a few years later, he made the time to come see me personally three or four times to ensure I was well and to help the doctors in my care. Since I first went to see him, he continues that excellence 20+ years later. Highly recommended, and the entire practice is on same par! As for the negative comments here, please remember this is psychologist/psychologist office. They are often the go to for doctor "shoppers". If a doctor does not feel you need a certain medication (certainly given the dangerous nature of mental health and adhd medications), then you should not be telling them what you want or need. They are the professionals and their career and your safety depend on them doing what they feel is right. Finally, I agree, sometime it can be a bit difficult to get in touch with them (at the Latrobe location). This can easily be remedied by pressing "0" for the operator who can patch you through, or by following the phone prompts and supplying them with ALL the requested info to get a prompt call back. Please consider Eastover psych for your mental health needs, and remember the negative reviews here are mostly from people who seem to want to instruct the doctor in the their own care.
