I am a real person living in real time. I do reviews for everthing many companies, cities and ect. to help people understand my experiences in different areas. I came here first time to get a Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and a Colonoscopy. I had to register up stairs and a nice black lady brought me and my adult daughter downstairs to a sign in area before surgery, so when the nice lady brought me and my daughter downstairs the surgery sign in area, The lady register people in was white the lady she was working with was black. When I get there the sign in lady was working with the black lady and she told me I could have a sit and soon as she walk her to the surgery area she'll be back to register me in for my 7:30am procedure to be done I said ok and sat down like she told me to. It took her about 6mins. to come back by that time a white couple had came both of them are standing at the desk she turns to me and say " You could wait I'll check you in after them" WHAT?,!!!F..... unprofessional at it's finest. I could have showed out but I did one the better I had Miss Lady call her supervisor and I complained about the treatment. If I came first I should have been registered first. Listen Everybody reading this Let's be clear I'm black and I have All different ethnicity in my family and I love Everybody. So to have her treat me like that Nope! I walked through this hospital I seen all different type of races. Her supervisor assisted me and insured me that it will be addressed because if she did me like that how many more people have gotten done like that. My procedure got done without any problems. Dr. Wilson MD., The Anesthesiologist, Med Tech and Everybody that worked with me was Excellent in the surgery part and I would never want to take nothing from the real experience, overall I give that part a 5 star. I was having anxiety after what the sign in person did but when it was time to get everything done the doctor's came through and did a good job. I actually feel a whole lot better. Thank you again Dr. Wilson MD and team Y'all Rock...

Accepted Insurance

Novant Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I came in the ER and was seen fairly quickly. Ended up having to stay overnight. From the doctors and nurses to the staff, everyone was kind and professional. I am grateful for the experience I had here.

What a great team of hard-working professionals from start to finish in the outpatient surgery. From the volunteers to the floor nurses, the team worked together to take care of the patient AND the patient’s family. They escorted family back and forth from pre-op to surgery waiting room to recovery room and ended escorted out the door. This review is for the hospital and doesn’t include the surgical team. That review isn’t complete yet.

This was my first and last time having a procedure done at this hospital. It was a complete mess. The hospital was filthy and the surgical team wheeled me in the room and discovered they didn’t have materials they needed for the surgery so the doctor ended up leaving the surgery room to go find the materials. Once I was discharged the poor nurse called for a wheelchair for 40 minutes and it kept getting canceled leaving me waiting. The nurses were nice but the admin staff and the condition of the hospital made me never want to go there again.

The worst hospital in existence - the nurses and doctors here do not care about the well being and health of the patients. No accountability whatsoever for their carelessness and no respect for the patients and their families. The doctor on call wouldn’t even answer the call as my father was dying, and now won’t sign the death certificate. Dirty facilities and disrespectful staff. Stay away from this place.

We are having the worst experience at this hospital. They aren’t doing the things they are supposed to do for my husband so I went to ask for help and found them all joking around and on their phones. These patients are helpless and need them to do their jobs. It’s awful. Not to mention they only have 1 entrance open on weekends. I had to walk 3 sides of the hospital to find an open entrance. We will never go to this one again if I get him out alive.

I had one of the worst hospital experiences today here. It was total chaos in the waiting area…no structure, no urgency. I sat there for 3.5 hours and all they managed to do was bloodwork. I was waiting on a CT scan, but after hours of nothing, I just couldn’t take it anymore and left. It felt like they were either short on staff or just moving painfully slow. It’s so frustrating when you go somewhere for help and feel completely neglected.

I don't like this hospital. They don't listen and move very slow. Also it seems like they don't have enough staff to attend to patients. If possible go to novant mint hill.
