Came for mom s surgery, everyone very nice, and happy. Love the storage locker idea for patient belongings while waiting. Waiting room not far from cafeteria and vending machines and even Starbucks inside. Great experience for someone waiting during surgery.

Everyone here is so nice. I m in room 6008 and all of my nurses (mainly Larsen) and nursing assistants (mainly Sebastian) have been so great to me. Dr Ram Lingamunta was one of the best doctors I ve ever seen and listened to me (which is 75% of the battle in healthcare these days). Thank you to everyone for making me well again!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive way of stimulating the brain in order to help with symptoms of depression. TMS uses elecromagnetic coils to deliver magnetic pulses to the brain, which can improve a patient's mood and ease depression. It's often used when other depression treatments haven't worked.

7th floor is horrible my dad only had one nurse that treated him well her name was Heather and he had one good CNA can't remember her name he had her 2 days, other than that he never had the same nurse or cna, they don't come in and check on there patients like they should and don't follow doctor orders. My dad was there for 12 days. Went in for back surgery and ended up having a stroke.

The staff in this hospital is HORRIBLE. Nurse called security on me, just for security to let me back where I was wanting to. They have an attitude with every unsure question you have. This hospital should have focused less on its looks and more on the quality of nurses and doctors they have.

Stayed here July 3rd 2024 after a left hip operation. The place was a disaster. If I range the bell... OVER AND HOUR to get anyone. Had to YELL out the open door to get anyone. When I was in hallway it was clear staff could give a flip. Had a friend that was there had terrible experience also with in two weeks and they called security on her just because on her discharge date she went to gift shop? Ironic that the security guard worked once for MPD and had picked up my friend by the throat when she said NO to going for drinks? Operations GREAT! post care in hospital.... not the greatest.

Went to this hospital for the first time today (April 11th 2025) to have an endoscopy procedure which I had also never had done before. The doctor doing my procedure was Dr. Shanti Rao. She was very pleasant and friendly and helpful in answering my questions. All of the nurses and everyone on my medical care team for my procedure were all amazing. Everyone was super kind and very friendly and welcoming and everything from the time we walked in the door until the time we left the hospital after my procedure. They helped keep me calm when I was really anxious they helped put me at ease more and helped me feel comfortable more. I also have tiny veins so am usually a hard stick for an IV or blood work and even though it did take them a few times to get a vein they were as gentle as possible and didn't just dig around and again helped keep me calm and it was way less painful than IV experiences I've had in the past at other hospitals. All around it was a very pleasant experience for having to be in the hospital and everyone was great and took great care of me. Great hospital and great staff.

I was recently admitted to Atrium Mercy Hospital after a medical incident. It was my first hospital stay and emotional experience as a result. I can't express how much the non-medical support from the ENTIRE STAFF provided, helped me through a scary time. The medical staff, especially the nurses (Sabrina, Patty, and others) CNAs, and nutritional services reps, all made my medical stay .
