Medication-assisted treatment helps people manage cravings and reduces the chance of relapse during treatment. The residential treatment program allows clients to fully focus on their recovery without the dist
I am from California, I spent 3 months at the facility. They definitely over charge you for treatment. Their facilities aren't the best....however there are some people here doing almighty work. One such person is Hakim. He is a counselor here. He is a good man with a good heart, he cares about people. I wish he would transfer to California and be my counselor there. He really helped to see many things in a different way. He's very passionate about his patients and the job he does. I would guess they don't pay him nearly enough for how valuable he is to this facility. I hope to see Hakim again one day. There is also Jay who is often the only nurse in the dispensery. A great guy and always has a kind word. I'll miss these guys very much....they probably have no idea how much what they do impacts people's lives....or maybe they do. Either way folks like them are rare in today world.

This is a response to the last review I see, the lady with a small star on her icon. Methadone is a safe medication, it stops withdrawals from illicit opiates and does not get the person in treatment "high", which allows the patient to get their lives back. Please educate yourself on methadone and methadone treatment centers.

Obviously the people saying "one addiction for another" has very limited understanding of this treatment and addiction. Yes, this treatment can take years. This verses cold turkey/abstaining is night and day with success rates. Or I like to call that the "just pray about it and hope" method. BTW it doesn't work. If it did, nobody would have an addiction. These people complaining are still failing drug test and trying to play the system. Eventually u have to admit defeat and surrender to ur recovery and stop trying to use illegal substances by counting days till ur testing is done or sneaking in urine or basically trying to manipulate ur recovery process. I promise u will get out of recovery what energy u put into it as well . Yes, there are a couple nursed that seem to not get we r patients and we pay thousands of dollars a year to be there and yet they treat us as if we r at the dmv. One is down right rude and doesn't even look at us. She will not speak to us u less ahe has to. We will not miss her when she goes we just really hope she leaves soon.

I had the unfortunate need to be at the ER and everyone at Union went above and beyond. From the moment I walked in and said my doctor told me to go directly to the ER, they took me and most importantly, took me seriously. Very nice people!

It’s taken me 4 Years to be comfortable Leaving a Review. The fear and Stigma of being associated with any kind addiction in society is rampant. Yet it affects so many of us in different ways. It isn’t always alcohol or drugs. Addiction can be found in many forms, yet other forms are more acceptable. Nicotine, fanaticism, sugar or foods even. Daymark specializes in substance abuse. They also understand it’s rarely JUST substance abuse. That recovery requires some sort of support, especially in mental health. Some of us were kids born to drug addicts, where we were raised with it as a life style, some of us were in terrible accidents or suffered injuries and had mismanaged pain care, some of us were just everyday normal people and we couldn’t identify how we became what we are, and some of us were just kids wanting to have a good time who thought we we’re invincible….. that we could never be “like that”. Then there are some of us who suffer abuses we dare not speak of because to give it sound breathes the horror back into life. Then there are the folks who lead upstanding lives that slowly slipped into oblivion….so slow they didn’t realize they became what they didn’t believe was possible. In my journey to recovery I’ve met all types of people, all types of stories, and the best thing Daymark has given all of us equally….. is an identity outside of addiction. They provide us the tools and service we need, IF we are ready to utilize them, to Reconnect with who we are outside of that addiction. To find ourselves, believe in ourselves, and have the accountability we need to build our support system. That support system is usually the key to our recovery. I love that even though daymark has timelined programs, you are welcome to utilize those programs as long as you need. My program was 12 weeks…. It’s been 4 years. The staff, some days I can tell they are exhausted, but everytime I see them I can tell they care. I see Dr.Shah and Meg Arnold. Dr shah is very direct, detailed and attentive. But he is efficient. If I need additional Mental health support, trouble sleeping, anxiety, depression… he has safe ways to handle those issues without referring you to another abusable drug. He is not our friend, he maintains an acute direct professionalism….. but he makes sure he asks the important questions and he can not be manipulated. Honesty with Dr Shah is imperative. Meg is my Group therapist. She has the ability to connect with us, and more importantly connect us together in a constructive way. She is so human, not once in 4 years have I felt judged. She makes everyone she works with feel valued and worth fighting for. More importantly she teaches us how to fight for ourselves. To advocate for ourselves. To be accountable for our actions and build the life we deserve. She teaches and provides us tools to carry through our lives beyond Daymark. There is no one beyond saving but only you can save yourself. I’ve watched her change the lives of hundreds of people. (12 weeks sessions/4 years. 5-8 people per 12 week session) Daymark also implemented an integrative care team. To go above and beyond other programs and services….Which I’m just starting to get to know. I have a case manager who makes sure I can succeed outside of Daymark. My first care manager was Melissa, She has helped find resources for education for my kids. She helps make sure people get to their appointments outside daymark, just general care. She helps with finding pantries and resources beyond what Daymark can offer. They can help prepare you for job interviews, and understanding applications for things like housing and school. She is the link that connects us with the rest of society as seamlessly as possible. Daymark is one of those places that if you really want to change your life, and you’re willing to put the work in…. They have your back. There are so many Individuals there, Joan, Linda, lori!!I wish I could remember everyone’s name on the fly…. From the nurses to the check in staff, they all care. I highly recommend Daymark for recovery services.
