This place is the worst, the NURSE PRACTITIONER doesn't even know the meaning of MEDICAL MALPRACTICE! The nurses are neglectful, antagonizing, rude, and will make things up about you if they don't like you. I was on the phone and heard the nurse say Seroquel instead of Sertraline for Zoloft... NO! THEY ABSOLUTELY WILL GIVE THE WRONG MEDICATIONS, BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW THEM! How can a facility made for the "health" of people be so uneducated, uncaring, and greedy? They only want to make false diagnoses that counteract with real diagnoses to keep you in the facility for insurance money. This place absolutely DISGUSTS me! I hope they get what they deserve and get a LAWSUIT! I know I'm gonna fight for it! MEDICAL MALPRACTICE and FALSE IMPRISONMENT!

Updated from 2023 at bottom:Please listen to the reviews!! People are very mistreated here!!! The most mistreated are the one who will not be believed. An older lady with dementia getting pushed to her room and getting yelled at for not telling nurses before she wet herself. They would shower her and lock her out of her room. She was wondering around the small area getting yelled at for everything they thought she shouldn't do. She was kept from eating in the cafeteria because she wanted to take a small pack of 2 crackers upstairs. She was yelled at pulled and they were taken from her while she was screamed at. She needs a unit for memory care, but because she had no family they kept her there. Another patient was a kind guy. He was not allowed to leave. Because he refused his medication because they wouldn't tell him about the side effects/uses or information, he did not want them. They had a court order that he couldn't leave until he took the meds. All he wanted was someone to explain the meds to him. They pushed him to a wall, injected him and called a code white. So many people came. Nurses, security, doctors, techs. He was pushing and hitting in reaction to being injected against his will . They held him down and was put in seclusion. So many people I saw mistreated. A girl who was mostly deaf was worried about the medication they would put her on. I told her to ask for a print out of information of anything they started her and and side effects. I told her it was her right to be informed of her treatment. She was asking the nurse what her medication was. She was told "I don't know, ask your Dr." I started up to help her, to explain that she just wanted information on what she was taking. I was yelled at to get back in line that they didn't need my help. So she just took the meds and walked away confused. Not to mention the chef would not let her talk to order food because she talked loud/yelled because she was mostly deaf. So many stories. Nurses screaming so often at patients for little things, treating them like bad children. Yes personally, I was treated well for the most part. However. I was able to speak up about my issues. Others couldn't. Though they gave me 5 mins to get stuff get dressed and get in the uber. I couldn't even put my shoes and socks on before I left the building. It was degrading. Please do not send people in need there and if you have to, please keep up on their treatment, to defend them from mistreatment. **Added info. I beleive it was unit 300 I was there saturday June 17-thursday june 22.2023 ***Updated 5-31-2025 I have no new news but they did put for me to contact them it's been a year and no email back. I get occasional messages from people on Facebook who have family stuck inside. I hope the reviews are right and that recently it got better, but I still will never forget my experience, I have a lot of trouble trusting people almost 2 years later

Accepted Insurance

Glenwood Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Designed for individuals with moderate to severe addictions, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides a more intensive form of outpatient therapy. PHP treatment can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option after being discharged from a hospital or residential program. A partial hospitalization program typically requires a minimum of 20 hours weekly for an average of 90 days. Depending on your care plan, PHPs can include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction treatment gives you a safe space to discuss your emotional, mental, and physical challenges. Your therapist will guide and support you as you collaborate to develop personalized strategies to manage your stress and navigate the challenges of your recovery.

Participants of group therapy sessions typically learn coping skills, communication techniques, and relapse prevention strategies. This unique set of skills helps you to navigate the challenges you find in the community and supports your long term sobriety.

Family therapy offers a group time to collectively make an effort to understand and combat the issues and challenges associated with addiction. Therapists work with family members to establish healthy boundaries between each other and their loved one who is addicted, improve emotional support systems, and work together toward a sustained long term recovery.

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

There are so many better places. I came here after Dayton children’s (an hour away) had no beds. My parents and I were told I would be admitted for three days. I was there for eight. The entire time, my parents were given various mixed information, which they had to call multiple times to get. Most of this was false. Weekends will not count as “days” and groups are sparse, sometimes not occurring at all. Everything is very disorganized, they even refused to give me my medications for multiple days and tried to give me multiple that I did not take. Though I would understand if there was a conversation between them, my parents, and I as an attempt to adjust medication, this did not happen at all and the only reason I knew, was because I pay so much attention to my medications. They also use chemical restraint, which isn’t necessarily bad, but some parents don’t want their children to be chemically restrained. Overall, if you have the option to go to an actual children’s hospital and wait an extra while for a bed to open, please do it. They offer much better care.

I have nothing but good things to say about the facility and employees. The staff in inpatient was nice and helpful with anything I asked. I transfered from in patient to the iop program and katelyn was phenomenal and gave me the tools and skills to help me through. I have even had the opportunity to meet the ceo. Everyone was very welcoming and cared about your care.

I would like to hold Glennwood in high regards cleanliness is decent, but overall it gives you a great time to reflect on some of your decisions. I just think that you have to go there and actually wanna get better to be able to get better. as an ex, patient i genuinely enjoyed the time that I spent there and I would like to shout out Ron a behavioral health associate as a worker. He was always willing to sit down and have a conversation with you. It doesn’t matter if you were or what your situation was again I appreciate Glenwood as a facility as a whole.

I would give zero stars, but there is a required minimum of one and then I decided to throw the Glenwood staff a bonus star because their round-the clock work to keep this review section “tidy” has GOT to be exhausting. I can’t even be mad at my deleted negative reviews. And my spouse’s. Im not even mad; I’m genuinely impressed. It’s all probably going to end up in someone’s Discovery someday, anyway. Keep up the hard work, guys! Bravo Zulu! Sincerely, “Sleepless Because of What Happened to Me in Cincinnati”

Do not send anyone you know here. Also if you leave a negative review, be sure to have someone else independently locate it online—reviews are being scrubbed. Get your medical records if you went there. Find an attorney. Godspeed.

Always takes forever. They sent me to probate court. The long haired white man makes me upset because he was trying to get me to stay there longer. Not sure what his name is. I was looking this up to see if they were still 5 stars. I've been going since I turned 18. Whenever I piss off cops. They don't even take me to UC or Mercy anymore. They just send me to Glenwood cause "they have a bed open" pretty strange. Cause it makes things worse. I wouldn't recommend Glenwood for anyone. Especially not minors. Who also go there

Slew of HIPPA and human rights violations. Parent company Acadia just paid out a $19.85m settlement due to those reasons and more. The entire tree is rotten from roots to branch.
