Good afternoon, this message is for Gloria and Colon Oncology, Julin had some MRI and CT done and in the images you can see an ostochondroma and you never called me to let me know the images were uploaded to your system, my son being hospitalized never bothered to visit him, I went up to the second floor of oncology and asked, no one told me that the baby had an ostochondroma, thank you for being so negligent, don't handle it however you want, I found out that he baby, I had to take him off the island, thank you for being so unprofessional and for treating my son like shit and poor Ami of the children there, I don't recommend it to anyone and I have the evidence. Thanks for everything I don't have to see him anymore

I arrived at 5:30 a.m. to 6 at the pediatric hospital in the medical center, everything VAT was very good, they treated me in the first cubicle, then I had to go to another one and the person who treated me told me that the referral had to say pediatric hospital and A number there, the appointment was 8:30am, told me to call the office where they made the referral and that they would send it to me by email or else to change the appointment. The very spoiled one, speaking harshly to me, I told her that I was going to look somewhere else, so I wasted my time and the trip and my son missed school. The first was with the dentist there, the DRA: Andrea Rodriguez after they did the cleaning my son he gave me a paper for his pediatrician to fill out he was asked that's all there is no other paper that the neurologist has to fill out he says no but then it comes out that the neurologist has to do a letter answering what she sent after I did all that. She comes to tell me that they can't help him there because my baby needs to do a few things and I understand that they don't have enough tools to deal with it. What? At the other hospital, she is supposed to tell me what decision they made so I know if I don't write to her I won't find out and supposedly she sent the case to the other hospital and because of that my baby was in pain. tooth and it was because he had a pinched nerve, I had to take him to a dentist. They gave him medication. Only I. I told the dentist what happened until half a number that wasn't, but since the baby couldn't. I couldn't stay like that. I I went to Carolina's and they treated me quickly. I had to wait for them to finish with the other patients by then and they knew how to treat him.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I have read some really bad reviews about this place, but my personal experience with my son's care has been very different... The nurses & doctors have been very caring & attentive. They seem more focused on identifying the cause of the symptoms than just treating them with pills and sending us home... They take time to LISTEN to the patient and do testing (instead of making a diagnosis based on assumptions like some other doctors). MOST of the security has been friendly and helpful... But there was one security guard who stopped me from getting back in after going to get my son something to eat... She was rude & inconsiderate. When she demanded my ID the only one I had on my person was my DOD ID (my purse with DL was in the room)... She said it was "fake" and started showing it to other security guards AND RANDOM PATIENTS. She told me I had to sign in as a visitor... I told her I wasn't "visiting" & that my son was upstairs, but she didn't believe me. She instructed another security guard to call upstairs to "verify my story". 45 minutes later, I finally got upstairs with food that had by then gotten cold, just in time for my son to be taken out of the room for a long procedure. People like her make everyone else look badly. Unfortunately, this facility doesn't have the most updated amenities: HOWEVER, it is clean and functional. One warning: IT IS THE COLDEST SPOT IN PUERTO RICO!!!!!! I am NOT kidding! If you are going to be here more than an hour, bring a heavy jacket. If overnight, bring TWO blankets. If I could change anything, it would be the chairs they have for the parents to sleep in and perhaps having a store on site that is larger and better stocked with necessities (& blankets and towels!) that patients and/or parents may need while staying at the hospital for more than a couple of days.

We went for a programmed surgery for my son. After the surgery he was sent to PICU. The doctors, residents and nurses in PICU are great. Their attention to the patients and their family is awesome. I hope that my son does not have to go again to surgery but if he does I know that he will be in great hands in PICU.
