About Life Changers Outreach – North Carolina Center

This location also offers their Generation Hope program, which focuses on pregnant women and single mothers who are seeking recovery. They look for mothers who are currently transitioning from long-term rehab back to healthy parenting or mothers who don’t have any viable options when seeking babysitting and their only option is potentially losing custody of their child. They also reach out to pregnant women and single mothers who are struggling financially or are coming out of abusive relationships. However, they don’t offer medical care and children must be five years old or younger.

Still, they can provide a safe environment for anyone seeking recovery. During your stay with them, you can expect Biblical classes, parenting & life skills training, and help with finding work. They believe that spirituality is a key component in the recovery process and hope to empower you spiritually and equip you to be able to restart your life successfully and independently. This aspect of their treatment includes Apostolic Gatherings, where all the members of their locations unite for worship, preaching, and teaching.

Great recovery program it help me overcome all the situations in my life I struggle with anxiety and depression and stress and most but not least I struggle with suicidal but by the grace of God He has helped me overcome things I thought I never gonna get rid off my struggle in my life. The reason why people put bad reviews on here is because they have not giving it enough time to process but the truth is it’s not what you take out of this world out it’s what you get out of with the people God puts in your life. I have a shirt that says Growth and it’s says grow through what you go through cause life is to short and we don’t know what going to happen to us when God calls us home. So I just want to thank God for LCO NC. If life was easy why did we decide to get help if we as humans being didn’t need it cause I can promise you one thing I needed every single thing that LCO NC provided for me. We don’t even live by the fruits of the spirit cause we let selfishness and Pride get in the way that GOD has for all of us in this world but in today’s world we think about ourselves and not about others. There is two greatest commandments 1.Love God with all your heart and mind and soul and 2. Love your neighbor as your self

This program does work, as much as you want to make it work. I’m going to 100% honest as well, this program is not a walk in the park. What this place, or Jesus in this place, has done with me is kept me sober since October 17th 2021 and grown me up spiritually and maturely as well. It’s called Life Changers for a reason, you have to want that change in your life.

I am a former resident/ member who had a horrible experience that has caused me PTSD to this day several years later. every weekend all the residents of the recovery treatment program were driven to various places in the US often several hundred miles away & into another state for some reason we never did this in close proximity to where we lived .often standing in front of primarily WalMart stores sometime 10 plus hours all day asking everyone & i mean everyone that entered the store as you are told point blank during the training process you are under no uncertain terms allowed to let anyone walk past you without asking for church donations & in return you would give them your personal testimonial about how Life Changers had helped you& let them choose to (buy) from a selection of primarily t-shirts with catchy religious slogans & inexpensive bracelets stickers etc. & yes for sure they would/will leave you like they did me stranded if you refused to ask for money from day light to dark every weekend almost 8 to 10 hours a day & then back to a cheap motel room where you had to sleep in the bed beside another person of the same sex & if not in the bed then on the motel room floor so in my case i began to not feel good prior to us going of town & needed to just go sit down alot & take a break that particular weekend & so they said i had already done that same thing the the day before & if i continued to go take an elognated break from asking people for money that i like other members in the past would be dismissed & so i thought okay they cannot actually be serious ? & well no they were serious alright i promise you the Gods honest truth that was all that it took to leave me without any money whatsoeverc no phone several hundred miles away from home in a different state where you knew no one hungry no food thirsty & in my case it was almost 100 degrees in southern Florida that day i was left in a WalMart parking lot I can still to this day almost 6 years later remember (PTSD) it was like yesterday how i walked all night in the sweltering Florida heat scared with nothing to drink no phone hungry feet hurting because & no i did not have the proper shoes or attire on at the time / (penny loafer slacks & a button up) not knowing where or where else to go but to walk all the way back to this aforementioned motel after stopping at different late night conveient stores along the way asking for directions to the motel & once I arrived to the motel asking Life Changers for help pleading to at least take me back & 2 Life Changer employess walked outside & said that since i was didmissed that they could not let me in the room or help me in any way shape or form or even make a phone call to my family letting them know that what had happened I would just have go to the motel office & ask them if I could make a phone call it's just hard to believe or imagine Christians doing this to another human being ? I eventually had to go to the motel office & call 911 to report what had happened & then tothe local hospital & the doctors response could not believe this had happened & was such a caring & understanding doctor who went above & beyond to helpe me not only with just an IV to re-hydrate but arranged through a ride program at the hospital for a free ride/bus voucher snacks & drinks for my 14 hour bus trip on the way back to my family over 300 miles away since then I have went to this day do really really good I am 27 months clean now & work at the local hospital

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients who are exiting detox or stepping down from intensive inpatient care typically transition directly into outpatient treatment. Outpatient programs are designed to allow clients to either re-enter or remain in their communities while receiving robust, personalized care. Many facilities offer evening, night, or weekend services to accommodate clients' home and work schedules. The most common outpatient treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Rehab aftercare programs offer a complete continuum of care for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery and are predicated on the idea that addiction disease is a chronic condition prone to relapse and warranting continuing care. Clients collaborate with their care team and case manager to access the specific rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety. Peer coaching, relapse prevention services, career counseling, and 12 step program induction are common in these programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
