Life Changers Outreach - North Carolina Center is a faith-based drug rehab center that helps individuals living in the Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, region. Great recovery program it help me overcome all the situations in my life I struggle with anxiety and depression and stress and most but not least I struggle with suicidal but by the grace of God He has helped me overcome things I thought I never gonna get rid off my struggle in my life. The reason why people put bad reviews on here is because they have not giving it enough time to process but the truth is it’s not what you take out of this world out it’s what you get out of with the people God puts in your life. I have a shirt that says Growth and it’s says grow through what you go through cause life is to short and we don’t know what going to happen to us when God calls us home. So I just want to thank God for LCO NC. If life was easy why did we decide to get help if we as humans being didn’t need it cause I can promise you one thing I needed every single thing that LCO NC provided for me. We don’t even live by the fruits of the spirit cause we let selfishness and Pride get in the way that GOD has for all of us in this world but in today’s world we think about ourselves and not about others. There is two greatest commandments 1.Love God with all your heart and mind and soul and 2. Love your neighbor as your self

This program does work, as much as you want to make it work. I’m going to 100% honest as well, this program is not a walk in the park. What this place, or Jesus in this place, has done with me is kept me sober since October 17th 2021 and grown me up spiritually and maturely as well. It’s called Life Changers for a reason, you have to want that change in your life.

The 90 days I spent at Next Step Recovery may very well be the most important decision of my life. Dealing with substance abuse most of my life then achieving sobriety for a decade and then losing it again. I've spent 5 years trying to get back to where I was but just kept failing. In desperation I came to Next Step for 30 days of treatment and later decided to complete a full 90 days of treatment. Next Step is simply different. The program and its environment were perfect for my needs. The staff is incredible and truly care. All their therapists are second to none. The housing environment blew my expectations away with a comfortable home (not a compound) combination of safety and recovery while maintaining many freedoms like going to the gym, grocery shopping and cooking, river rafting, walks through beautiful Asheville. I even got a cool job towards the end. Next Step just offered this incredible treatment program while offering the supported opportunity to to practice normal life with out substance abuse. Not really how I imagined this "treatment". experience would be. No it was ten times better! Most relaxed I've ever been in a long time. Months later im back home with my family and everything thing is going great! And when things are not great I can handle it using the tools that Next Step gave me. Still rockin it! Thanks so much to you all J

The ten-week CASP program is one of the best Recovery programs in WNC. While other Pyramid programs are half full of people who were "pushed" there (by DSS, the Judge, their PO, their spouse) but CASP was full of 9 men who really want to stay clean. CASP also has their own grant funding, separate from other departments, which is why this program has so much respect in this area of the southeast.

Before coming to October Road, I felt completely hopeless. I had been through treatment for alcohol 15 times, often labeled a "chronic relapser." Failure and rejection became familiar companions, and life left me feeling scarred, broken, and too afraid to try again. But yesterday, I graduated. And for the first time in a long time, I felt surrounded by real love and respect. The support I received here was different—it was genuine, consistent, and life-changing. I’ve never felt more seen or valued. Now, I know I’ll always have a family at October Road. Today, I feel worthy. And that changes everything.

This place is fantastic! Note to future residents… make sure you bring extra towels/washcloths/handtowels. . You only get one of each and have to wash them yourself. Also, there is no yoga class as show on the website as shown on the website and equine therapy is only every other week and does not include riding but is still a wonderful experience. Tai Chi is not daily as it appears on the website but only once a week. It’s so wonderful. Trey the instructor is amazing. You only get one. I made some of the best friend here and definitely would recommend.

Tapestry really benefited and reframed my life. I arrived at this facility in a state of crisis, I was horribly depressed and couldn't find value in life anymore. However the staff greeted me warmly and met me where I was. I was supported as I worked to heal from my mental health challenges through groups, medication management, individualized therapy, and by a loving community. Our 22 year old son was ‘failing to launch’ - gaming, marijuana use and generalized anxiety were issues that prevented him from moving into a healthy and successful adult life. The three months that he spent at Momentum provided just the right mixture of support, insight and challenge to help him channel his energies in a positive direction. His therapist, Joe, was compassionate and effective, and helped motivate our son to reach for more than he thought possible. He left Momentum with a very positive attitude about himself and his possibilities. He has just started a ‘transition’ program where he is utilizing the lessons learned at Momentum to carve out his new life. Momentum is a very fine program with a dedicated, caring and skilled staff - we can highly recommend it!

Be aware there are a lot of rules and you are punished if you break the rules. With that being said it’s a structured environment that does provide good therapy. There can be some toxicity amongst other patients so it’s best to not let that get to you and your recovery. I had a necklace that I left there for over a year that was for my great grandfather who fought in World war 2. Somehow someway I called them on a whim and they had the necklace and they sent it to me!! This was such a big deal to me and they took such care and making sure they didn’t lose the item. Of course if it was a two toothpaste it would’ve been gone. Now I’m in college and I’m two weeks away from my first study abroad trip to Argentina to study Spanish in my life makes sense. I am grateful for the services Appalachian has provided over the past 6-7 years for my patients. Yes, they are understaffed and they are overworked, but they are also the only organization available in our area for people with mental health crises. There is a severe statewide and national problem of inadequate mental health services. Without Appalachian, our community would be in far worse shape, because there is nothing else like it available in this whole region. Despite the time it takes for some services, I believe they literally save lives.

This place is pretty special. They spread good throughout an under-served segment of our community by providing a safe place for neighbors recovering and healing, who might not have the means to stay in a rehab facility. People who have bills to pay, family to care for, and work to do (or find) and still deal with their personal demons have solace here. Tools are provided for work training, personal empowerment, healing through creativity, and many more classes and offerings (both in person/virtual), as well as personal mental health therapy sessions. This group perfectly exemplifies our mountain culture of hospitality and endurance while occupying a historic craftsman style home near downtown Waynesville. I really cannot give enough words of praise for this down-to-earth home-grown practice of truly caring professionals.

There are good people here and I have found them. Most of the classes they offer give you wonderful suggestions to learn to set boundaries and manage Anxiety while the one on one actually helps a lot if you get the right person. I feel it has benefited me with suggestions and strategies that you can apply to every day life. As someone said on here you have to do the work yourself. Didn't take you a day to get here so give it a few weeks and if you don't have the right class or person ask for someone else or go to a different class.

I sent my 16 yr. old son to TRAILS in September 2023 and he graduated 3 months later. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They taught him how to survive and thrive in the woods of North Carolina. They taught him how to express his feelings and needs in a way that is respectful to everyone around him. They helped him learn about himself and brought his self-talk over to the positive side of things. They taught him that "he can do hard things". My family is so grateful to this group of people who run this program. We dropped off an angry, selfish, going-nowhere good kiddo and after a lot of work, missteps, repetition, and encouragement, my son had a fabulous growth experience at TRAILS that will serve him the rest of his life. Parents, do not hesitate to go with this program.

Having to use these services was an unfortunate event, but having Miss Yvonne made this experience a positive and I was glad to have her as an instructor. The entire experience was knowledgeable and compassionate. If anyone needs these services, I would not hesitate for a minute to recommend this business. I lived over 30 miles away, but it was completely worth the drive.
